If you want to be creeped out. Have your Glands milked dry With real scares and not jump scares? Then this is the movie to watch. Original, fresh, great acting, juicy, spine chilling, great acting and an ending that will have you sleeping with the lights on.

This is the first time a horror movie has legitimately scared me in a long ass time. And I’m talking throughout the whole movie. The tension he builds is palpable. I wanted to cover my eyes. This is coming from a guy that watches everything he can that’s horror related. Watch it in the dark with the sound up, by yourself. Trust me.

I read a few negative reviews about this film, but gave it a chance anyway based on the trailer, and I found it to be a rather tidy and creative little thriller, especially on a low budget. Some great atmosphere and visuals, decent acting, and quite suspenseful. Looking forward to more from Damian McCarthy 👍

i was pleasently surprised by how brilliant a movie hit a mediocre score and reviews was. Honestly. Great acting, great use of silence. Yes there wasnt enough explanation, but thats sometimes the point with horror, the fact that you dont know makes it scarier. I loved it, i loved the slow tension packed lead up to the last 20 minutes that scared the sh*t out of me.
People can't handle slow tension and dread they just want to get to the scares
Most just want dumb jump scares, not true horror. I loved it!

When someone wants to pay you 200 to babysit at a house in the middle of nowhere prob best to turn it down, if you do take this job as soon as the creepy girl is holding that rabbit like that is your nope out of there moment

Just watched this and I'm lying in the dark. I'm scared, but there's too much from this movie to be scared of that I don't know where to start-

Man though, when I watched this for the first time, I already felt pretty spooked when the woman’s body was found in the cellar wall just staring, and smiling like that.
And then late in the film when she started moving fast as a rat through the rafters, I about jumped outta my skin.
Best haunted house film ever!
Seems scarier than most horror movies out there. 10/10 will watch it!

@@forefatherofmankind3305 I didn’t say they don’t scare me “anymore”, I said they do (always have) but it takes a lot because most horror films aren’t all that scary. This one stood out because I found it truly terrifying and unnerving.

It's really good. I've watched hundreds of horror movies and this is one of the good ones. Parts of it are legitimately frightening and the plot is really intriguing even when it's not so scary.

I think the thumbnail accidentally showed an editing error. The water reflection of the ghostly face has a pair of normal eyes versus the actual face having empty eye sockets. I think editor missed that bit when they added CGI eye sockets

This is SUCH a good movie. Oh, it's just incredible. It's somehow realistic despite being completely bananacrackers at the same time. Beautifully photographed. Tense yet tender. Absolutely wonderful.

For a low nugget movie I'd say it's actually pretty impressive. I know I'm late to the show and all but I honestly enjoyed it quite a good bit! The dynamics of it were great and the suspension was also very well done.

Love the Rabbit.
A really good horror once in a while, and that without any jump scares and (obvious) CGI. Some questionable points are there of course, like why didn't he reach for the key as he got to the phone through that ventilation for the first time, and what was the meaning of that creepy picture scene other than to frighten the spectators, and generally his very role in the house there was introduced quite poorly (just be there to watch after Olga but be chained and with no telephone access?), etc, but the whole movie is just great anyway, and that rabbit must get the Oscar this year.
I think the point of the painting sequence (along with the circle drawings in the flashbacks) were to show that there was a paranormal edge to the story.
Also, the protagonist is skeptical of the job before he takes it, still unaware of the whole harness deal untill he is already there. The movie also shows us hints he may be desperate for money and he only agrees to be strapped in after witnessing the uncle interact with the niece. I think the movie wants to show us he is partially going through with it for the money, and partly because he is a decent guy.
Also they never revealed who locked Olga's father in the basement in first place.

I never leave a review on a horror or any movie for that matter. Im a horror connoisseur & I gotta say..I have not been this terrified from a film since Darkness Falls (the concept was great not the movie). It’s a slow burn but with very good moments in between that lead up to a phenomenal climax. I was quite literally covering my eyes at certain times within the last 35 minutes. I was terrified😂. It’s so good & I’m so thankful I finally gave it a shot. It’s worth it!

I hate to sound rude but Darkness Falls wasn't really that great in my opinion. It's more campy fun than actual horror, but don't let me stop you from liking it. It's still better than anything The Conjuring has managed to summon up from the depths of Ed and Lorraine Warren's lies.
