People afraid of pulling the Death card should see the imagery on Ten of Swords in some of the "edgier" decks. Now THAT is a card with an almost universally accepted negative meaning. Also known as the "ruin", "tragedy", "inevitable doom" card. But I don't expect the movie to delve into the Minor Arcana because of course it won't.
I read too and they always portray the death card that way in scary movies it’s movies like this why people are so afraid of tarot or think of it as “unholy”

my girlfriend (who loves tarot reading) found this movie entertaining, not scary but interesting. As an artist, i found the designs of the cards phenomenal
Yeah it was really entertaining really interesting that the critics hate it but the audience is lapping it up. Not really into dark decks but this deck would be interesting if it went into print.

Not another piece of media misrepresenting the 'Death' card. Hopefully they'll point that out, because it basically just means the end of something and a new beginning.
The tower card is the one you should (edit: mostly, although not necessarily) be wary about. Still, looks like it's more based on the (pretty awesome) art and not really what the cards really mean.
You shouldn't always be wary of the tower. Sometimes there are good tower moments.

As long as you cleanse the deck before you use it there's absolutely no reason to not use anyone else's deck. Same as folk say "someone else should buy you your deck"... if I had to wait on people buying me decks I'd have about 2 rather than almost 100.
If the deck is treated with respect then nothing bad will happen to you.
@@shakurzaheer9190Honestly yes I have done tarot for 4 years now and I made a mistake with my first deck I let these two guys play with it because they were curious I had to end up throwing them away because the cards gave off bad vibes, and on top of that I was having weird dreams of being possessed by demons and tarot. since then I don’t let other people touch my tarot decks at all. It sounds crazy but it’s true.

When people think of Horoscopes, they automatically think of the Sun signs aka Zodiac signs (Aries, Libra, Gemini). So I think it was best to call it Tarot to make it more relatable to the plot (Devil, Hanged Man, Hermit, Death).

Yes, it makes more sense because, in the book, the characters get killed off in ways predicted by their horoscopes, which is astrology, not tarot cards so why they'd keep the same name but change a major part of the premise seemed weird.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE all the lit candles right next to the lamp. JUST TURN ON THE DAMN LAMP!!!
I get that, although candles are a symbol of the connection/transition between the physical (the candle itself), and the spiritual realms (as the candle burns and it's energy changes), which is why they're a thing.
There are reasons for it, but at the same time you do have a point. 😂
Tarot readings are best done with a lit candle! Though the 400 they have is a little excessive....

In my opinion, I actually thought this was quite scary tbh and there were definitely moments that pushed the limits of a pg-13 horror movie also the atmosphere was quite suspenseful as well, downsides is the lighting is at some parts dark and hard to see whats going on also there is some uneven acting but I've mainly pushed passed that, overall I rate it a 9/10, definitely one of my favourite pg-13 horror movies out there and no this is not a paid comment.
That's too high for a 9/10 rating. I haven't watched the movie yet but I've read some reviews saying how bad the movie is. Is this really worth a shot?
@@Ezekiel400lux It's not for everyone, I personally mainly enjoyed it but I've seen others basically trash the movie so it's either up to you if you want to listen to the bad reviews going on around the movie but the rating is slowly improving, it went from 8% rotten tomatoes to 23% rotten tomatoes and audience score is not really that bad with 57%

I’m a tarot card reader and a horror movie enthusiast and I kid you not a couple of days ago I asked myself why there weren’t any movies/shows about tarot and I stumble across this trailer today. 🤭 STOKED.

The scariest thing that ever happened to me while I was using my tarot card was when I thought I lost one. Nearly had a heart attack, it’s an expensive deck.
If a stranger's deck looked that terrifying (it's excellent by the way) I wouldn't dream of using it.

So, this film has received mixed reviews, including some negative feedback. I enjoyed watching Tarot. The ending surprised and impressed me. The cast's diversity and the way each character's past was revealed in relation to the storyline were two things I really admired. Watching this movie was worthwhile. The twists and jump scares were definitely thrilling. This is the work of incredibly talented individuals. Well done.
I just love their level of intellect with their rhyming, it's like 'whatever, chicken feather'.
Omg I want to watch this so bad especially as a tarot reader. I love the fact that each card seems to be used as a concept in the film. Even if it’s cheesy for the love of tarot I must watch.

Remember, 'You are what you consume', you should be aware of that if you read tarot, it's basically what the Magician is all about 'As above, so below'. Consuming horror content is the last thing you want to be doing if you don't want to manifest negative energy into your reality.

I personally don’t like when people use my decks because they’re sacred and personal to me, but it’s always important to cleanse beforehand and after hand just in case.

In a way,, it gives me a 13 ghost/final destination type vibe where it seems each person who had a reading gets killed by a different type of creature/entity.

As intrigued as I am for this, does anyone else feel the trailer showed a bit too much? It seems like we saw all the creatures from the cards and we possibly have seen one character’s guaranteed death from the ladder falling (supposedly) and even though we know most characters are doomed in these kinds of films, still could’ve left a few surprises. Possibly will be anyways.

I'm excited for the Thirteen Ghosts mini-series because although I didn't watch it when it came out but watched it at school actually I did find it very interesting and an awesome concept .

You are just having a conversation with your own godhead within your own matrix and the cards clarify the energies around your own matrix. There are no rules to life - life is chaos and so are the cards. If you put rules on the cards you put rules on yourself. People who are superstitious should not be playing with any esoteric tools as their own bias fears will effect any answers given. Like poison... Your own fears and pain are actually the shadows in the dark.

The trailer looks great, but kind of unsure because that High Priestess card does not represent the fate which is implied fell on the first victim in the trailer. If she actually dies in that scene, it gives the impression nobody actually researched the meanings of the cards, which would be a shame regarding a movie whose entire premise is based on them. High Priestess dealt right-side up is not a bad omen. It is when a card is upside down that it yields the opposite of what it actually represents. Everything else, the design of the entities, the acting, and the horror aspect in general look great. I just hope the theme is there too.

We all know that using a tarot deck has rules; if it's not yours, don’t use it because we don’t know what type of energy the tarot cards have, whether good or bad. It depends on how the previous owner used them. From what we can see in the trailer, it's all about curses or bad luck happening to them. So, I think since they used the cards, they are already cursed."

The movie reminds me of Thirteen ghosts movie. It's an old horror movie that has a different story for sure, but the introduction for every demonic entity is pretty similar to the old one. Well, I like that trailer about Tarot, so I'll watch it for sure :)

You know, the whole " you can't use someone else's deck" thing is easily solved by cleansing the deck though either incense, crystals or letting it sit in moonlight.
And the worst thing to happen if you break this is that you'd get unclear readings. Not demons killing the person you give a reading to.
What is the bet the big twist is that this deck is cursed by a demon?
It also screams jumpscare overuse.

The haunted game concept isn’t revolutionary, but it’s still kind of fun and fresh to give each tarot character a spooky redesign. Looking forward to seeing their death and devil cards come to life. 👍
