- 8-year-old Jenny (Violet McGraw) is constantly caught in the middle of the feuding between her lawyer mother Maggie (Mamie Gummer) and artist father Jeff (Rupert Friend). She leads a lonely but imaginative life, surrounded by puppets called “Grisly Kin”, which are based on the works of her father. When Maggie is tragically killed in a hit-and-run, Jeff and Jenny try to piece together a new life. But when Maggie’s father (Brian Cox) sues for custody, and babysitter Samantha (Madeline Brewer) tries to be the new woman of the house, life in their Brooklyn townhome takes a dark turn. The puppets and frightening characters come to life and Jenny is the only person who can see them. When the motives of the ghoulish creatures become clear, the lives of everyone are put very much in jeopardy.

This looks really interesting I just wish they held back on showing too much of the villain in the trailer.
Well sorry to spoil it but that was the only scene where they showed the character. This was boring and nothing happened. Don’t waste your money on it. Trust me! My boyfriend and I love horrors and this was the first horror movie we walking out of.

A lot of horror movies take place in cities. Rosemary’s Baby, Insidious 3, Poltergeist III, Candyman, The Ring, Alligator, The Grudge, American Psycho, Basket Case, Possession, Jason Takes Manhattan, just to name a few.

Just watched it tonight.. Wow great concept .. Little girl plays awesome and I even love this cute pie.. Truly not that much horror it makes but still worth to watch one time.. Great dad and daughter love with some mama horror anyway mama helps a lot ❤️ Thanks to the team for one such touching movie 😘🤡

It's not scary, but I loved it. I loved the dads characters that come to life and the narrative was good. I guess it depends on what you like. Finally Netflix decides to put a film up that fits well with my genre.

I wish more horror movies would take notes from films like The Strangers, Hereditary, or Haunting of where there are things hiding just barely out of sight that the characters don't know about and that us, the watcher, can catch ourselves if we pay attention hard enough. Or even the opposite would be nice, with there being something that the characters can see that horrifies them but we can't. Like bird box but actually good.
