Korg Electribe Sampler 2 - How to Sample and Record

Korg have made recording a sample into the Electribe Sampler extremely easy. You can record a sample from any point in time by simply pressing ‘Shift & Record on the Electribe, this records from the minijack stereo input on the back of the unit. Record from anything, other synths, your iPad apps or even the TV!
It’s a actually a great little Groovebox . Sure the interface is clunky as hell , but the basics are easy to nail down and it’s pretty easy to just grab anything and sample it.

It would seem that this is exactly what I've been looking for. There are some sounds around the house I've been itching to integrate into music.
don't forget to export all samples from data utility, otherwise you'll loose all changes
you need to switch global paramter -> audio thru (on) first

Is it possible to trigger more than one time sliced saved external sample at a time, and save them as one pattern? Two different looped drum patterns at once, for example...I very much hope so
Does anyone know how I can get the proper loop size when I record? I have sampled a sound and want to loop it while it's in record mode but when I try and get the loop start and end point I get no result . I have to stop the machine and go into the sample menu but I can't seem to get it to hold the sample to loop it in record mode

How do you save the samples (not on an SD card but on the actual machine)? I pressed shift and write after I had finished but when I turned off and on again they had disappeared?
SULPHO you need to export samples at the end. Menu 26-11 i believe.
i hit record, hit the pads i wanted, and hit record again. Then, I hit write and it'll give you the destination (ex. 244 Init Pattern), as it play what you recorded and then you hit write again (it will be blinking). That will save it to the particular slot. I've only used the initial patterns for the blank slate. Also, i'm very new and inexperienced with this stuff so please don't take my word as pro advice
I never could figure out how to get around this. I'd get the sample in there, but once I'd power down they would all be gone. Very frustrating.
You have to have an SD card to save samples. You can’t just save to internal memory or they will wipe when you turn off the machine. Just insert a memory card and do ‘export all samples’ before you switch off , then the next time you turn the Electribe on your samples will automatically load up .

How can I save a sample in internal memory? so you don't have to charge it from the memory card every time you turn on the electribe? is there any software used to access the internal memory?
If your computer has an SD card reader, plug in the Eletribe’s card and find the sub folder called “sample”. Delete the stock sample and replace with custom sample. This only works if you rename your new sample to the name of the stock sample you’re replacing tho..

Which do you think would be best for making your own samples for step sequenceing and finger druming, novation circuit or Korg electribe. I want to make my own sound from an arturia microbrute analog synthinysizer and put into a sampler without using my computer too much. i like to stay away from sound packs pre-made samples to help boost creativity.
I can't make my decision about the electibe or the novation circuit I think the electribe will be better with more functions it's not mono either like the NCR and has more tracks but I think all go for the novation myself then save up for the korg or maybe other way around there's not one bit of gear that's perfect in this price range but the electribe seems to do everything
You have to write the sample after recording. No mention of threshold, bit basic !

yeah - just because you agree let CZcams monetize your content doesn't mean you get to decide what ads they run.
Just think its a little cheeky. Hers a certain business doing something good with a video FAQ. Naturally they would want you to buy it from them but no hard sale. Good on them for that.

Right - because the other shops are paying google / ytube to place their ads with a content provider who has "monitised" his video. So GUITARGUITAR will get paid depending on click-though by the other shops and google - How is that a drag when you can always chose to de-monitise your video ? We're lucky in this case because they didn't place toothpaste ads !

No not at the same time.
How do you get green lights on "play/pause" and "4 bar" button instead of blue?
This was a pre-production demo model, the only difference were these lights. Not sure why :)
When i make a project with the ORIGINAL korg sounds (samples), they sound less heavy. I don't know really how to explaine, it's like a demo sound. While the preset projects sound like they have been masterd. Is this the case? (sorry for my bad english)
Look through the preset projects and you can see how they programed the machine. You can look through all of their FX. I'd say the way you use the FX (master and IFX) greatly impacts how to get the sound you are wanting.

Can this be used as a drum pad, for chopping samples up as you would on an mpc?
So we can't record the audio from an external source without the midi-audio jack ?
It has its own Audio in port (1/8in aux)
does it just turn on the input or can you record from a source?
+iParty The electribe will record whatever audio signal you put into the 3.5mm audio input :)
in what mode i've only been able to sequence on and off input

+ThePc Gamer You can use both. You can't add multiple samples to the same pad if that's what you mean.

Hello, I have one question, is it possible to record a sample while some other samples are playing? It would be very nice to get an andwear ;;)
I would like to play 3 Samples and while they are playing I want to record (live) a new sample is that possible?

+JossLoner You can't sample while other samples are playing, unless you resample the whole audio out of the electribe.

Did you ever get it sorted? I had mine for a little over a year and I never figured it out. I'd get a sample in there, but when I would power down are re power the device the samples would be gone. Really frustrating as a sampler.
@@cloudrun654 you need to export all samples before you power down. Hope you sorted, only recently got mine and I'm having a great time.
@@RANDOMLOOPGENERATOR I remember trying many times to do just that, never worked for me. Sold it long ago and now have an OP-z which I really enjoy. I did really like the Electribe S as a sound processor. If sampling would have been more direct and I probably would have kept it. Glad you have it working well and are enjoying it!
