You are the MAN! Appreciate the effort... BUT, my after installing Retro and following along, it will not allow me to change button configuration and now it sees the Legends controls as Port 0 and Port 1 is the Firestick control... IF you experience this, uninstall the app, then reinstall and go thru the steps again! Keep them coming!
This is a great idea but would love to do it with a more capable device. The platform that is introduced by the fire stick is great it just seems underpowered . Thanks for the video and keep the great content coming!!!
Firestick works great for most games until you get into the more advanced systems. For those I use my Note 10+ and it works VERY well. No problem at all running Tekken 6.

Thanks for the video Cooltoy. I enjoy watching your content. I do have a question about CoinOps Next 2 built for PC. I have CoinOpsX for ATgames Legends devices and it works great but what i want to use the control deck, Legends Gamer Pro, is on my PC with Next 2. Question is how do I map my control deck to RetroArch? It works fine with none RetroArch builds but I’m still struggling on this. Is it possible? What do I need to make it work. Do I need to follow these steps? Please help. Thank You.

For adding extra storage to your Firestick 4K (if your not going to use retro arch). Is it pretty much the same beginning steps? I am using this for just the amazon games and happy chick and I have run out of space. Still need to download the file manager to access the usb from the fire stick correct?

Clay Howard I’ve just added a cheap hdmi splitter to my cabinet and plug it in between the hdmi connection that goes from the control deck to the monitor. This gives me an hdmi out that I can connect to a capture card. Super easy and affordable way to creat your own hdmi out

Can you not bind player 2 to port 2? It's not letting me. It knows I pressed a button but maps them all to 0.
inputs > bind all .. i find that easier to map
during game > quick menu > controls... easy to map for that certain game
quick menu config > save game config
Quick question.....if you already have retroarch on your firestick can you just plug your firestick into the ALU pair it by bluetooth and map the buttons to play the games??
How do you access the mame internal menu? On the PC I use the Tab key

Do you know how to disable hotkeys, because everytime I play with friends we accidentally bring up the menu to change the button mappings?
The firmware on The Legends has changed. Can you (or anyone) tell us how to connect the Fire Stick with the new firmware?
Have you gotten any version of Golden Tee working or any bowling game to use with that roller ball?
Both work. Golden Tee up to and including 2001 can run via USB with the trackball as well as World Class Bowling a.k.a. Silver Strike.

Joe B absolutely. You can download all the roms and retroarch on a Mac if need be.

OK I downloaded everything and config controls I went to cores and DL Mame (2010) Arcade and on bottom left it says downloaded but when I go to scan directory/storage/myusb there's nothing there. Where does it go? Tried it again with 2003 Mame and same results...the bottom left screen doe show 1.85- MAME 2003(.078) its not moving the DL file where I can find it and open...any advise? Thanks
Have you successfully been able to map player 2 controls thru RetroArch? For me, player 1 works fine, but player 2 doesn’t yield any values when I set them even though it recognizes the button pushes. Thanks in advance!
beaujaTUBE I have not gotten player 2 to map successfully, I have reported it to the AtGames team and they are working to hopefully correct the issue

Late to the party on this video but is the Fire Stick powerful enough to handle games that the ALU can't like Killer Instinct and other 3D arcade games?

Anyone successful using retroarch's built in online co-op capabilities while installed on the atgames legends machine?
@COOLTOY I just got th alu 1.1 and I have 7500+ coinopsx I'm very pleased with. Now I got a question could I buy the Playstation classic mini weed/crack/meth/fight USB sticks and plug them into the alu arcade and it work?
I do not recommend buying any pre built USB game sticks, they almost always have issues and get messed up with firmware updates.
Since this is basically running Android. Is there a way to just connect our phone to it? Since I'm sure most people with high end phone would be a lot more powerful than firestick.
yes, certainphones could be paired via bluetooth and a HDMI cable

Patrick S what kind of issue are you experiencing? I don’t use raspberry pi but I had zero issues getting my controls mapped on my odroid xu4 running retro pie with Bluetooth
I saw that-great video. I can configure my cabinet controller just fine, but then they don’t work when I’m actually in a game and sometimes will not let me exit a game back to the menu. Not sure if it could also be related to the fact that the cabinet also frequently gets stuck cycling the initial green AtGames logo upon startup?
Patrick S yea it sounds like it may be an issue with your cabinet. That part where you described it getting stuck on the AtGames logo is not normal. I’d reach out to support@atgames.net and see if they can help if I were in your shoes

@@cooltoy i don't know cuz i have a 1.1 version mine don't look like yours i don't get all that stuff link select device,apply,discoverable . any thing i get is a picture showing me what i have to do holding P2 and holding home button . and it not working . do you know anyone got this working on a newer version . mine is only like 2 weeks old .

joe Cartwright currently no, but I’ve reported this to the AtGames team and they are working on hopefully fixing the issue

2 years later, is this still the same method? I've always been against buying something like this, the 1up cabinets, the Neo Geo MVSX, etc. But if I could buy this and just put RetroArch on it to play my already downloaded 6000+ roms, I'd be all over purchasing an AtGames Ultimate. Might need to save up for a while, but it'd be worth it.
Two years later, no one uses this method and I got rid of this machine
@@cooltoy fair enough. Good to know. Honestly, I just googled how to go about adding RetroArch to this machine, and this video popped up. I'll have to do some more digging. It'd be great if I could get an arcade machine that doesn't require buying/installing a Pi. Something that just has a way to add RetroArch.
Might just go with a 1up cabinet. I've seen em online for like, $100. And there's a plug and play mod pack you can buy for like $350 that comes with a prebuilt Pi and stuff.

It seems that RetroArch has severely changed it's interface since this. Now it's not that attractive or user friendly.
If they make a light gun with a usb plug and these games to download czcams.com/video/xTFh3FFpUS8/video.html I wont need to ever buy any other arcade machine ever again ! wish we had different side art though..
