0:05 The customer's insurance company did not want to cover this damage.
0:26 GPS mount hits the power button of the radio screen causing it to shut off over bumps. The technician also mentioned the customer drove 80 miles/128 km for this appointment and was rather surprised it was that all along.
0:38 Customer just thought it needed an alignment. Parts were replaced and the car got an alignment afterwards. Make sure to read the owner's manual on where the lifting points are on your vehicle.
0:50 A new oil pan gasket was installed.
1:08 Not the first time we have seen this on the channel. Hopefully, it's just from people leaving their wigs/Halloween costumes on the road...
1:20 Look at the aftermarket cover and where the buttons are on the key fob. As mentioned the customer has been pressing the wrong buttons the whole time, so the remote start function didn't work.
1:32 "2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, customer states while driving check engine light will turn on and go into reduce engine power. Found left front of vehicle had some damage and they did not put the fender liner back in that supports the wiring harness causing it to hang contacting the rim and grounding out control circuits in the wiring harness."
1:54 Damage was repaired.
2:07 An important lesson for the customer and service advisor.
2:18 A/C was very cold when the dial was turned to the left.
2:26 Very common for Chevy trailblazers to see this happen. Looks like it has been like this for a while as you can see the tire has started to cup/have unusual wear.
2:36 Looks like brake fluid is leaking as well. Maybe the customer did the work himself but could not figure out how to put it back together?
2:47 First time seeing a Focus turned into a Cadillac.
2:56 An easy find for the technician.
3:04 "CCTV footage shows the ghost wheel rolling across the road and then smashing through the windows of a building in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, southern Thailand, on September 23. Staff were jolted from their seats as the heavy object shattered the glass and sent sharp shards scattering on the tiled floor. The shop owner said no employees were hurt as they were seated away from the windows. She said she planned to relocate the employees' workspace farther inside the building following the incident. Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027. However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts."

The weekend's always great when your mechanical body horror is there to kick it off! :)
_You have genuinely made me fearful of other vehicles, and probably made me a more alert driver._
When can we expect a JRI branded Fauxcus Mod in the store?
Love the videos I was right in the middle of watching this when my wife asked me to come out and listen to her car because the engine was knocking. She had hit a bump and popped a clamp on the air intake 2 second fix😊.
What's the process when a customer declines repair on an unsafe condition? Do you make them sign something re accepting responsibility or ???
Caddicus or focillac. Undecided 🤔
Did that first customer think they bought an amphibious car?

The 50 in Q50 means 50 meter water resistance, you know, like my watch.
Saw a guy trying to lift a mercedes with the jack under the oil pan. Stopped him immediately. Showed him where the jack was supposed to go. He became enraged and yelled, "What are you, a mechanic?" To which I calmly replied, "Yes."
Good on you, even though I doubt you got much/any thanks.
Too many of these clips are the result of egotesticles* that ' think ' they can fix everything &/or all mechanics are crook$. Cameras don't lie, Bubba.

You can't fix stupid.
I'm sure he paid the tax on his shortly after 🤷♂️
Funny how he thought you had to be a mechanic to know basic things. That mercedes is probably in horrible condition now
Probably would have jacked up fine😂
For these people it’s always about ethos (authority) over logos (logic).
The more I watch these, the more I'm convinced of the Four Horsemen of Just Rolled in:
1. "The customer declined repairs"
2. "Another shop"
3. "Customer did not change oil since getting the car"
4. "Customer does not know how to operate the AC/other basic features of the car"
Or the beginnings of JRI bingo!
How about "Random piece of garbage/unnecessary aftermarket plastic is causing stated problem."?
"Another shop" means "owner repair" in Just Rolled In language!
There's another channel called Plainly Difficult that covers mostly man made disasters. One of the most common signs things are about to go horribly wrong is "and then there was a shift change".
Apparently, whether it's a nuclear power plant or bridge construction, no one wants to tell the next guy what's going on.
The king of all ' the shop declined repairs '
Destroying the engine within the first 100 miles is impressive, in a bad way.
My folks bought a brand-new VW bus in 1971, and the engine died - as in needed to be replaced - before it even went 200 miles; and I remember this because it stranded my family of 7 in Syracuse and the dealership only had a Bug as a courtesy car. But that was just top-quality VW engineering in 1971.
@@someinconsequentialusernam7799sir this 2023 .. this should not be happening

So glad to hear the customer is paying for that engine in the first clip. I get sick of people getting off scott free for being morons. If being an idiot was more expensive we might not be in the shape we're in.
I agree
Ummm pretty sure if youre dumb already enough like this you dont even care or are aware of any expenses...

@@Inverter222 Depends. Many insurancies won´t cover it if the damage caused was easily avoidable by i.e. not drivin through deep water.
Can you believe some of these people own tools? Some shouldn't even own a lug wrench 😂
Exactly! If you don’t know how to use tools then why even bother trying to use them?
Yup got that right I’m pretty Mac inclined still my stuff goes to the shop
I'm perplexed at the one that tried to do the oil pan. They obviously judged themselves as having the tools AND the skills. I'm not a mechanic myself, so if I didn't know how to do something, I'd just take it to a professional instead of fumbling with silicone and duct tape.
Oh yes. Yes I can. Considering how *STUPID* the *average* person is today... absolutely.
I bet even MacGyver facepalms them 🤣

Right? ;)
Customer states : I'll save on expensive oil changes by replacing engine every 75 miles.
More like 20K - 30k+ miles which is around 2 - 4 years every engine replacement which cost at least 4K - 15K+ instead of $300ish per year if done at lube shop 4x in a year.
But I am just a random dumbass on the Internet trying to give out logical advice so strangers don't get fucked over to have experience scrap metal that you needed to rely on. I'll put my cents here and leave.

Who drives their literal brand new car through deep water?
I like the suspense of the last one. You knew something was about to happen, but it took three clips to get there.

@@DD-mp9ok I miss him
Ok, I’ve been bugged about it since I first heard that quote, but finally I can put it into words: That’s not actually true mathematically. The median and the mean are not necessarily the same. For example, 1, 3, 3, and 4 averages to 2.75, but only one of those four values is less than that.
@@WilburJaywright Well.. think of IQ scores, averaging at 100.
A person with a 40 IQ is essentially a vegetable, we can't really test below that, nobody scores a zero. On the other side, there are plenty of people in the 160+ range, and there's no upper limit, so 200+ is possible.
One person with a 200 IQ would require one person with 0 to maintain that 100 average. Most people fall between 95 and 105. Realistically, for that one 200 IQ person, you'll have 100 people who score 99, which gets you a 100 average, with just one person above it, and 100 below it.

land of the free!
It is a major failure of our society when people with such dangerous vehicles are allowed to drive them after being show how dangerous they really are. This stuff shouldn't be allowed. Very sad.
Kinda what happens when the mechanic charges 9-10x the actual cost of the repair.
I think one of the problems is that in missed if the USA, you're basically dependent on a car. If you don't have one, you're screwed. This then leads to two related issues - people drive cars that are way past their lifespan, and people drive cars without sufficient maintanence because they just have to.
While I - living in Europe - don't have to drive everywhere or can easily live without a car altogether.
@@mohyla91I agree with you on the part about driving vehicles pass their lifespan. I think it is terrible.

It is good to see some footage of the Express Tyre Company performing their high speed delivery. I mean the accuracy to get it through the front door and to stop near a desk is brilliant 👍
No time lost with the driver as well dealing with paperwork…onto the next delivery and back for lunch

Well, it's not entertaining when a loose tire bounces over the freeway divider heading for you. Been there, done that. Fortunately I avoided it.
is there an epidemic of escaping tires? what causes these?
@@tsm688 Some people forget to tighten or even put on lug nuts after replacing a tire or rotating them. Driver is completely oblivious and somehow ignores the shakes of doom until it comes flying off while they're driving.
I always watch these in total disbelief!
How people don't end up in accidents, injured, or killed, is beyond me.
They do though. US road tolls are horrendous. Some of it stems from stupidity and entitlement but largely the number of unrepaired vehicles on the roads of many countries, like the US, is a huge portion of car owners are working poor. People can barely afford rent and food, so it isn't surprising they can't afford vehicle repairs.
@@WhatIsSanityAfter watching this channel a while I looked up the stats, in the USA about 12% of accidents have a mechanical cause. It’s amazing it isn’t higher!
The US consistently ranks pretty low on road safety and accident rates. This is what happens when most people must have a car to get someplace, or a car centric infrastructure. You wind up with poor people driving vehicles that shouldn't be driving because they have no other option. We have no public transit infrastructure in this country, so people must drive. Add-on this insane car culture that exists in the United States and you wind up with really aggressive drivers as well. The United States also has a lot of very old drivers who have no other options as well, so we wind up with near-disabled people driving.
the US is really stupid when it comes to vehicles, basically.

Or blame it on a friend
Happens aaaalll the time. They come in with their car on a hook and a box of parts.
they don't pay that much more, most of the cost to repair is labor costs so even if they fuck up every once in a while....they still profit from not having to pay insane labor prices for all the times they get it right.

2:22 I love the arrow animation 😂 But also, it hurts my head that so many people can be so slow and dimwitted.
These videos make me glad that for half of the year, when working, I get to be in a place where literally everything shown is illegal, and functionally none of it happens. Because if a car shows these signs, it isn't being released or touching the road without proof it was repaired and documented.
how can it be fixed if it's not released? that doesn't make sense, i sure as shit wouldn't get it fixed at the first place i go to because so many shops pull all kinds of insane price gouging practices but that isn't shown in these videos.
Yes - Sometimes I hate the TÜV here in Germany.
But haven seen what happens in America (or even deep parts of eastern europe) I am glad we have strict controls. Not only the inspection every two years, but also Police pulling out those cars if seen.
@rocksfire4390 he means they will not allow the customer to leave with an unsafe or not roadworthy vehicle, sometimes the shop can be held liable for allowing people to leave in a vehicle that should not be on the road.
@@rocksfire4390 it gets fixed by the first shop you bring it to or you can get it transported to another shop.
Either way it isn't driving itself (legally) again until after repairs have been done.
And if a shop does screw you over and you find out about it with some sort of proof and report it to the government they can close their shop for good and get gianormous fines.
@@rocksfire4390 As far as i know, you can get it released. If you turn up with a Tow-Truck, ideally with someone from another shop that you're going to get it fixed at, and are willing to sign a lot of papers. Also keep the number of the local police ready, you might need to call them to supervise the entire things, because the shop - if they don't belive you're going to keep to what you sign (fix everything before you even attempt to legally get the car back on the road) - can still refuse to release the car (unless the police says, relase it, which they can do).
Basically, if you go beyond a certain point, your wallet or convenience does not matter at all, keeping others safe from you and/or your car is. Which is why it is so difficult to make sure your wallet suffers less.
But price.gouging is also a lot less common here, due to high labor-rates making everything at every proper shop expensive enough, and controls making sure you're at the worst actually providing the services you bill your customers for (which means usually they ask you before they do anything).
Also, if you don't trust the shop not to try to scam you, how on earth do you trust their expetise? That makes no sense, a good shop is good all-round, and a bad one too (at least in my experience).
If you want a Cadillac.. you must focus.

The Cadi-Focus at the end isn’t actually that bad.
I really want to know what happened to those that declined repairs on some of those serious issues
They go to every other shop in town to find out who will fix it for the least cost... and usually end up trying to fix it themselves anyway.
they probably didnt fix it because they can't afford it and kept driving the car to work because they have no other option. This is the united states, you absolutely must have a car to do anything and everything about owning a car is insanely expensive.
@@CRneu I agree with the first part... but owning a car doesn't have to be insanely expensive. First of all, if we weren't forced to pay for tags, taxes and insurance, it would help. Second, if it weren't for the govt. forcing car companies to make all of their cars meet ridiculous emissions standards, they wouldn't be so expensive and they could build more low cost, "entry level" cars. Third, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... the cost of maintaining a car is usually far less than the cost of repairs. Fourth and most of all, it ain't what you drive, it's how you drive it. Poor driving habits cause more problems than wear and tear.

Come on, you're making all this up with stunt doubles. LMAO The best comedy show on YT.
That loose wheel at the end reminded me of an incident when a farm tractor trailer 5 cars in front of us lost one of its 15 inch rim wheels at 40 mph - it wrote off the nearest car, seriously damaged 3 others and hit the wing of my car only after I swerved to avoid it coming through the windscreen! The energy in that wheel was huge.

I’d love to know if the US had mandatory safety inspections across the country every year how many cars would fail in 1st year?
Around 80 to 90% and 75% of the ones that pass would be iffy
In the states that do have mandatory safety inspections they just take it to a local shop that will pass anything for a fee. The shop that does my emissions testing just plugs the OBD in and mashes space bar on the computer until it prints out the report.
@@ryanespinoza7297Where have you done this? I know that at least in Massachusetts and California, inspection stations are themselves inspected. A shop found committing fraud as you describe would lose their license. The shops I've been to are absolutely by the book.
There are ways that car owners can "improve" their chance of passing, like clearing DTC engine codes just before, and warming up the vehicle extra well, but that's the owner taking risks on their own, not a shop risking their livelihood to save someone else a few bucks.
@@j_taylor that whole clear the DTC and warm it up doesn't work anymore bc the IM monitors are not ready for testing so the car will 100% fail. Which means you will have to go back in about 50-100 miles to try again. But at that point the check engine is like sup boi I am back. And I know here in PA it cost $450 just to get the exemption for the emissions

Yep Morons
we defunded schools and made people memorize information instead of investing in STEM courses.
They don’t want anything to do with the evil blue side!!
The amount of people that decline repairs is crazy, especially for the crap in these videos.
Yeah, the one with barely a single control arm bolt holding it together shouldn't have been given the choice.
They're gonna take it home, have a buddy work on it, and then show up in a future video.
because they don't have the money. They can't get the repairs if they don't have funds. This is why the majority of these people have cars like this. In the United States we have a culture that perpetuates these issues. People are poor but must have a car because we don't have functional public transit in most of the country. This means people have to own a vehicle they can't really afford which leads to the vehicle being in a poor state of maintenance.
Like 2/3rds of the issues in these videos are caused by the elderly and poor people who are just trying to get by.
Dam, luckily no one was at that desk when that tire pulled a family guy coolaid "OH YEAH" after 5 peoples on the road said "Oh no!"
The "customer declined repairs" blows my mind every time.
With problems like these you shouldn't be allowed to take the car. Even if they don't care about themselves, they're a hazard to others
Customer that sucked in water in the intake can claim that on their auto insurance as an accident and get the engine paid for.
They tried but they said no from what I was told.
@@JustRolledIninteresting
@@JustRolledIn 🤣 that's gotta hurt
@@robertheinkel6225 maybe since they only had it 1 day?
@@JustRolledInwell that sucks, probably the 7 day rule that some states have.
another shop is code for I did it myself
Someone with true autobody talent Focus-ed on that Cadillac.
3:05 - I wonder how fast that wheel was going (?)
Dang, that tire smashed in hard! Also gotta laugh at all the chin diapers the staff inside was wearing XD
Another unnamed shop is more often than not just the customer not wanting to admit they tried and failed to fix it themselves.
That last scene should have had a Dicount Tire sign photoshopped onto the business. Would have been hilarious! Unhappy customer returned the tire from the roadway! 😂
Yummers…that is some tasty oil ice cream there. Just what you need to wash down that turkey.
Hope you all had a good thanksgiving over the water 👍
_"... but at least there's no blood!"_ 🤣🤣
When the customer won't say who the "other shop" is - it's the customer. Or some friend or relation who is "real good with cars."
"Hmm I can totally do that myself..." no, you can't. Pay people who can.
That last video reminded me of the old Discount Tires commercial, "If ever you're not satisfied with one of our tires, please feel free to bring it back." then the old lady throws the tire through the window.
Don't call it old, I remember when it was new. 😔🤦♀️
Thanks for making me feel better about myself. ❤😂
