I put an LS in my 23LSV and it cruises at 50mph and I haven’t had any issues. Malibu said their computer program would never be compatible and that I had to go through them for a new engine after their engine imploded for no reason at the beginning of a two week houseboat trip at Lake Powell. I took the insurance money, bought an LS and had someone make a program for a $1,000.
Can I ahve your opinion should I get a white malibu 23 lsv or one with coulor?
Why were the comparisons not like-for-like (i.e. 4000 rpm on each)? Would like to know how they compare under the same engine conditions.
This was less about seeing how each engine did at a certain RPM and more to see how they did when surfing and wakeboarding with the same boat conditions. More of a real-use comparison.
Curious to know prop diameter, pitch and elevation. Thanks
For sure! Elevation - ~2,500'. Prop on both boats - Acme 2249 - 15" X 14.25" - it's the high altitude/torque prop you can order from the Malibu factory.
Chantel Herbert Thanks for the specs. Are the new 23 LSV’s able to run props larger than a 15” diameter?
@@timothyjeavons1 No. The 25LSV, 24MXZ, and the M235 have the 17in prop, but the 23LSV sticks with the 15in.
HI! which engine would you recommend on the LSV 23: M5 or M6?

Is the m5 a good engine? For basic boating non-hardcore wake surfing?
I'm looking for a surf and barefoot boat. With either of those engines give me 44-45mph on a LSV22?
If you put a speed prop on the boat, you may be able to get there!
I got a 2019 GS22 with 450hp and love the boat for boat surfing and it runs 42 top speed for barefooting. Best of both worlds.
Is there a way to tell somewhere on the engine if it’s a m5 or m6?
The motor has badging on the front!
How much horsepower
400 HP on the M6Di, 350 on the M5Di.
PCM owned by Correct Craft... can't believe they are an option
