I’m not interested in Sam at all and there wasn’t enough character development for the others for me to get invested in. I wouldn’t be mad if the next movie just followed Tara, Sidney and Gale. And Kirby, I wouldn’t mind her returning!

@@hknil8966 Some people don't understand the difference between amount of screen time and character development. A character can be in half the damn movie and still be underdeveloped, as it is a scripting/characterization issue.
@@hknil8966 I think that for all the hype on the new cast, it was really only Mindy, Sam, Richie, and Tara that resonated at all. (And I'd argue that of the four, Mindy and Sam were written well, but Richie and Tara resonated because of Quaid and Ortega's performances.)

Gale deserves more hype and love the same level as Sidney, i love the fact that they have always been both the final girls.
If we're being honest Gale's storylines are the most interesting all 5 films, it's so unfair how some people only see her as the "bitchy reporter" or that they'd rather have her exit the franchise instead of Dewey. She’s really got the best character development out of the legacy trio.
Seeing this F.U scene made me so happy and i'm so glad they finally gave her character a chance to shine just like the old times. I mean look at her making Art out of Amber.

The way Sidney just smashed the bottle of her head had me dying 😭
Tara may have been incapacitated by Amber eventually, but the distraction she provided allowed Samantha to daze Richie and get him to follow her while Amber was eventually defeated by Gale and Sidney despite their wounds so Samantha's gimpy sister did make a difference.
As for the motivation since they're on about their movie here, I haven't seen a single person try to justify Amber and Richie and that's great! Toxic fandom has been an issue for decades and the internet with social media made it worse. It may be exaggerated, but you've had teenagers and even adults try to kill someone all over a mild annoyance and some fans have expressed violence or death threats over an opinion and even expressed delight at suicide over their hated ones. So the idea of someone killing over an opinion or movie I'll believe could happen. I'll go ahead and glance at the other 7 motivations.
Billy came around and gave Sidney a motive when she demanded it. The detail that's overlooked most of the time is he answered her question which was the motivation to murder her MOTHER. The spree happened because he and Stu got a taste for killing and enjoyed it. After all, some serial killers became so the same way. They got a taste for murder and kept going because it became addictive and enjoyable for them. Stu may have been pressured into it, but he clearly enjoyed himself during the murders and it was hinted that Casey and Steve were killed because she dumped Stu. This along with Billy ignoring his father's role in the affair as well as hating Sidney and dragging her into the spree in the revenge by proxy concept showed they had misogynistic views and some men have had misogynistic homicidal thoughts and acted on them.
Mickey's motivation showed that he wanted attention and the fact that society glamorizes, normalizes, and romanticizes tragedies and violence coupled with some people legitimately believing movies make killers helped fuel it even more. Mrs. Loomis said revenge even though she played a very large part in how Billy turned out and was hinted to have always been neglectful of him. Her being rightfully blamed made her snap and turn to murder while putting on an act of a caring, grieving mother. I also will note that she was unique in that she was the only one who confirmed that after Sidney was dead, she was going to clean her hands of the whole spree hence why Mickey committed most of the murders during their spree. Ultimately, it boiled down to Mrs. Loomis wanting to shirk responsibility.
Roman came up and got the ball rolling for Ghostface because of rejection. It was said that Maureen put Roman up for adoption so while she lacked the ability and desire to care for him, she cared enough to want him to have a good life and upbringing. He was also shown to be better off than Sidney financially being a director and all so his whole spree was about being entitled to Maureen's acceptance down to killing Cotton and Christine.
Jill was jealous of the infamy Sidney had as the survivor and Charlie went along with it enjoying it. Frankly, a sane person would see Sidney's life and decide they don't want it as being a murder spree survivor of multiple sprees will mess with your head. On Jill's side is the fact that you don't need talent or morals to achieve internet fame. Many openly immoral, evil, homicidal, and terrible people got fame because society glamorizes that stuff. The fact that she assumed Sidney enjoyed the fame said how insane she was.
So I'm unsure how any of those 7 motivations are cool or sympathetic. The fact that the 9 movie Ghostfaces killed said something was wrong with their heads. At the end of the day, nothing justifies murder and that's why some places did away with the death penalty.
In regards to Sidney, not everyone who has a personal vendetta against someone else will have violent or homicidal desires, tendencies, or thoughts. Hell some would go as far as to try and deny their existence altogether. Plus some are mature and sane enough to handle their issues in mature ways and put their feelings aside when it matters.
Amber's death was so satisfying in this entire movie especially after she and Ritchie killed Dewey then she made the mistake of mocking Dewey's death to Gale which made her death all the more satisfying, and it's hilarious she tries faking remorse and Gale just sees through her facade and burns her alive anyways. I don't think any ghostface killers death has made me more satisfied than Amber's.
