    Thanks. I've installed new construction windows and have already flashed the top of the window. Could not find information anywhere on whether or not to flash the top of the window trim.

    If I was the homeowner and someone left that 3/8th gap on the top of the window. I wouldn’t accept that and have them re-do it. That looks terrible

      Hi Manny! The 3/8" gap above the window is implemented to allow for any moisture to drain that may get behind the siding. The potential for water damage to the siding, window, OSB, etc. would significantly increase over time without giving this moisture a place to escape. We recognize that every homeowner's visual aesthetic preferences are different, however we highly recommend this gap to ensure the long term success of the siding system as a whole, which we feel will be reflected in the long term satisfaction of the homeowner.

      It looks herrendous....I'm doing it now on a job....it's gonna create problems....if the sides aren't fully caulked it's gonna trap water, and be filled with mud wasp nests in 6 months....
