    if you're wrapping a metal post, doesn't it make sense to put together three sides, then attach to metal post, then add the fourth piece.

      Our Pro-Post Wrap were designed to install over wood posts and fastened at the top and bottom. We have not tested an application over metal post to provide accurate installation tips for installation over a metal post.

    Installing some on a project this summer. The house has a wrap around deck. I know the deck isn't perfectly straight and level. How do you recommend getting it level and flat along the entire perimeter? Thought about ripping it down so it would follow the lines of the deck

    Why do you need a flashing at the top of the window then another above the window trim board. Wouldn't it be sufficient to just have the through wall flashing at the top of the wood trim? How would any water get behind the wood trim if it is flashed at the top?

    I know this is a redundant question, but I want to really clarify the answer. I have 1/2 inch sheathing on the wall, I'm going to put the 16" panels directly on it (yes Tyvek/rain screen). Will those nails hold ( the nails won't be hitting the studs)?!!!! Why don't you show the totally structure in this video?

      The 16” vertical panel is designed to be installed over minimum 7/16” structural sheathing. The nailing pattern is every 6” all the way around the perimeter of the panel. Use a hot dipped galvanized nail with a .092 shank and penetrating through the sheathing at least ¼”.

    Zoom in and let's see the gaps 😅😢. I love the "self tooling" caulking. They always preach 🙌 until you have a leak., Then it's why didn't you tool it to get the sealant to adhere better?. Keep your day job working inside your factory bud. 😅😂

    No need to face nail, use old scrap of coil stock and staple to the back then nail the combined piece to the wall.

      Board and batten doesn't require a special RigidMount block. In fact, you can mount the light or outlet directly to the panel because of the flat surface, unlike Lap Siding. If you want to use a RigidMount block, you absolutely can. We offer eight different RigidMounts!

      Thank you for your question! We do not have a video of ban board installed, however installing a band board is the same as installing horizontal trim, with a few key things to keep in mind: 6" or less trim boards 2 fasteners should be placed every 16", and for trim boards 6" or more 3 fasteners should be placed every 16", and all horizontal trim boards need a drip cap.

    So it’s needs a 3/8” gap at all flashings. But what about at the top by the soffit and around the side and bottom of the window? Just 3/16-1/4” gap? In the video you were using a plastic speed square, and that’s about 3/16”-1/4”. Just want to make sure before I start my project that I won’t void warranty.

      Thank you for using Diamond Kote! All flashings require a 3/8" gap. For siding that is using a H-Molding to cover field joints, a 1/4" gap is required to maintain the 3/16" requirement. As for bottom of windows and soffit lines, those request a 3/16" gap.       Per our manufacturer, 3/8" is the minimum spacing requirement on all flashing, otherwise the warranty is voided. You can go with a bigger space, as long as it is over the 3/8" minimum.

The big advantages to the individual corners are that they require one nail per corner for installation and their no caulking needed.

      The metal outside corners fit tight on the face of the siding as well as underneath the lap. There should be no room for bugs to get behind the corners.
