• 2024 Ford Super Duty ...
Glad you got it back. Unfortunately you need to take it to the dealer again. Ford just released Customer Satisfaction Program 24B27 which applies to 23 and 24 model years. It is a reprogram of the PCM to increase oil pressure at idle. So clearly they have determined an oil pressure issue at idle that “may” lead to issues like you had before. On the plus side I was told it takes about 2 to 3 hours to perform the software update and not days.
2024s don't already have this software update?
Also do you know when this was released? I can't fine anything on it.
Released May 13, 2024. Dealer will check Oasis to see if your VIN is included. Mine is scheduled for the update on Friday. They said it takes two hours to reprogram.
I’ve had two Godzilla 7.3 trucks, 2020 and now a 2024. Have not had issues like you. I would buy another in a heartbeat. I have 2,500 miles on the 2024 and have no reason to take it to the dealer. I bought a single 250 amp alternator with a single battery and I’m not worried at all.
I’m sorry you’re having issues. I don’t think you should classify all Ford 7.3 as ‘Don’t Buy’.
Same here. 23 with almost 6k on it.
i to have 2024 f350 since january i have 4k no problems with mine so far coming from a duramax i enjoy this truck so much more also i work for a power company and drive 2021 f550 bucket truck weights 19,500 for the life of the unit have 60k only problems was bad sparkplug wires driving this unit every day convince me buy one for myself
1700 miles on my ‘24 king ranch 350, I absolutely love the truck! Zero issues so far.
Don't jinx your self
Wow 1700 miles : )
@@Tool0GT92 I’m just saying at least it’s not having issues as early as his has, so hopefully his issues are a fluke!
@@brianbarclay4316 I hope your truck lasts forever and never has a problem, its annoying spending big money on a truck and they have issues
@@Tool0GT92 isn’t that the truth!
Buying a vehicle that was produced during a strike is like buying a vehicle that was built on a Friday.
It doesn't matter - the UAW got their concessions and the quality actually went into the toilet!!!
Or Monday
Good stuff..
Great video man! Such a sad time for ford trucks right now.
So glad I bought a Chevy silverado 3500. Ford f350 was my first choice when I was looking but ford is having to many quality control/recall problems!
I am NOT glad I bought my 2020 silverado 2500hd diesel. It has been a lemon from day one. 48 codes through the 59,570 miles so far, the day is still young. Looking at going back to Ford on a F350 and the 7.3 and going away from diesels.
My 2014 Toyota tundra had electrical issues 2xs. Even went into crawl mode. This all happened in the first 10k.
That was the last time I had any substantial issues with the truck. I’m at 300k as of this post.
Maybe it really does work its way out.
Will be curious to see if it was a just a bad battery or if there’s a parasitic draw or something that killed the battery prematurely. Fingers crossed it’s solid from this day forward for you! 🤞
I just had my 2024 in for the power train light came on then went off so ford felt bad so they gave me a few free oil changes
What was your previous truck with engine problems? I have the 23' 7.3 F250 and love it. Only 5k miles in but its a dream truck so far 🤞
It was a 22 F250 xlt crew, delam engine failed at 6600 miles. It was a beast until then. I do have videos on the channel with that truck if you wanted to check it out.
My 23 had the LCD dash replaced. The electrical and programming on Fords is strange to me had RAM’s for 12 years like their systems much better. Now though the only thing is the ambient sensor is reading always 10 or more degrees less than actual temperature screwing up the climate control of course the Dealership didn’t believe me took several tries to get them to finally order a replacement one. Not installed yet so we’ll see
You need to try a stx. They have everything that you will actually use. 360 cameras apple car play. Power windows and locks and cruise control. We have a loaded car and these are the only features we use on it.
Exactly! I have the STX it’s a great value.
@@ZimmyF250 I have had several stx’s and I have a 2500 custom currently. I can afford whatever I want but I can’t imagine paying 25+k for add ons. I buy based on power train the rest is just I don’t want leather because it’s hot and cold plus you put 4 grown men in leather seats for six hours and the whole truck smells like ass. I will not buy any truck with a sun roof either.
I bought an STX a few days ago. I got the diesel option. I didn’t want any option that uses an electric motor to work. The only thing I wish it had was the real console instead of the fold down middle seat. My previous vehicle was a 2001 suburban 2500 base model. The only thing I didn’t like about the suburban was the crank windows, but I never had a window motor fail. The ford is a good bit taller than the suburban, so my perception of how far I am from things like gas pumps is off. I had to turn on the 360 camera to make sure I wasn’t going crash while trying to pull up to a gas pump. I’ve heard about diesels getting better mileage, but I was shocked when the computer said I averaged 23 mpg on a 300 mile highway trip.
Reliability has not been an issue on either of our 2 7.3's. My 2020 personal truck has 80k with only a battery change and the key pad came off in the car wash which is getting fixed today. The 21 has 132k or 139k can't remember and is driven by many of our foreman's and used like my previous diesels pulling our skid steer and heavy equipment into job sites. My partner has the 6.6 in his 24GMC which replaced his 21 6.6 6 speed and it still lacks in power even with the 10 speed vs the 7.3's more so when pulling same equipment. The seats suck for the long haul, not comfortable at all and we have been burning a ton of oil between oil changes. These 3 trucks replaced 2 Duramax's and 1 Power stroke. For the life of me I can't figure out why you continually have issues with every Ford you purchase and so many others don't.
When ordering, Ford's website recommends dual batteries for the 7.3 engine. Maybe this is why.
I would definitely agree that it should be standard, but worth the upgrade when building.
My 22 7.3 has only 1 battery, no issues.
Just turned 5K miles on my new Ram 2500 HD 6.4. Tows my 30’ travel trailer , dual axle flatbed with a diesel Kubota B-2601 with attachments, and my enclosed motorcycle trailer. Not an issue . I’m so done with Fix Or Repair Daily !
Just traded a few months ago a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 6.4l had 186k super hard miles on it and now in a 2024 same truck same engine not one issue yet. Ram is probably the best truck right now if you can get the 6.4l V8 before they are gone and have to buy a crap Hurricane turbo charged junk heap. I agree Anything is better than a Ford right now.
@@JasPlun ram looses to the 10 speed on the 6.6 L8T, both engines reliable and strong but the 10 speed is huge upgrade vs Ram
@@concretejungle77 Well my company buys Ram trucks just pointing out they have been pretty reliable for us.
@@concretejungle77 Guess what truck I traded in for my Ram? Answer 2021 F-350 10 speed 7.3! . Guess why ? Answer I lost reverse gear twice on that crap transmission hence it’s long gone! That transmission is a crap box ! Never shifted correctly since the beginning! Ford POS Junk!
@@roadglide1142 is the ford 10 speed the exact same as 2024 GM/allison?
So all the issues were just a battery?
So they say, I haven't had it back but two days. But so far, maybe. It's nuts to say, but with the battery always dying, the truck will cut power options to safe enough to start. Sucks, so many trips and hang ups, just to get a battery that they said they swapped pre delivery.
@@automotiveinquiries9673 yeah i agree if the battery was low they should just change it for ya no questions asked. My 23 high output tremor has done a few weird things but nothing too bad. I had water in my 7 pin and it messed it up saying i had a trailer fault when i wasn’t towing and my sync screen acts up a little by my 22 also did that
What is the saying? When you repeat the same process over and over and expect different results........
Sawg is the problem
So you won’t recommend it because of a bad battery in a nutshell.
I wouldn't say just because of the battery. I think this truck has some issues, fixed or not, too early to tell. But more so because of the 3 I looked at, all had issues. But all makers could have issues, but my first impression of how ford, the dealers handled it and the issues on top of it, it's not a good first impression. But, since it's allegedly fixed....we'll see if it changes my mind.
The diesel engines days are numbered if you want dependability and reliability forget about a diesel. Need to go with the gas.
agreed my bro spent over 9 k recently on def particulate filter, diesel is trash now not worth the extra horsepower or MPG's 10k more than gas
The 7.3 gorilla is a gas engine
