Black Sea is, in my opinion atleast, the toughest to get into. Modern weapons and a peer enemy makes it s really hard option for getting into the games. My personal favourite campaign is Shockforce 2's american army campaign. It's still very much modern warfare, but you are fighting a lot of unconventionals. It's still tough though as you are expected to take minimum casulties due to your massive advantages. It's less "can I win?" and more "Can I win with acceptable losses?" as you've seldom really in a position where you are in a position to actually be beaten, but then there are of course factors such as IED's, carbombs, and ambushes, with ANY losses being a pretty big deal. I'd reccomend you give it a try for a different feel from both Black Sea and the WW2-titles. It has very much a second Iraq war-theme, but with you commanding a Stryker-based taskforce, although when you do get to play around with your Bradley-equipped combat-engineers platoons that is also a pure joy as they wreak havoc.
I actually own Shock Force 2! I was going to release a video of it soon-ish after another round of Black Sea. You're right about Black Sea though. Modern warfighting is played along a razor's edge compared to the blunt and analog nature of WW2.
and that was my first pick into combat missions :d yes, everything is just too deadly, so deadly that me thinks next combat mission for me should be italy maybe
Great video! You were unlucky to lose your bunker MG so quickly! In my experience they can hold up to insane amounts of small arms fire. Are you using a uniform mod for the Germans?
Another well put together video. Your casualties were a bit on the high side. Knowing when, and when not, to have your men hide takes a lot of learning, and a bit of luck. Perhaps if you continue with Fortress Italy you can boost your men's morale with some period music. "Isle of Capri" by Wingy Manone should do the trick.
Nice video, but playing the AI is a waste of time IMO, it's so bad that the games aren't competitive. I would like to see you play against a human opponent.
keep up these videos we need more combat mission content creators
A new ep should be ready very soon! And I've got a joint AAR on a multiplayer game with Chap in the works
Nicely prepared AAR!
Another great AAR. Definitely look forward to watching you continue to learn. Especially when you’re ready to give it a try in multiplayer.
This was awesome dude
My comment deleted itself. Glad you uploaded was waiting for some more of this I just got into combat mission too nice to see someone else learn too
I'm really glad I got into the series! And yeah I've got more Black Sea content coming next.
@@WekBenHelix fantastic looking forward to it. Till then have a nice week
good videos! Subbed :)
Helix posting again? Hell yeah man
that was intensive
To learn combined arms, at least in the WW2 setting I recommend the first US campaign in Battle for Normandy.

It seemed rather unlucky, yeah!
And I'm using the All in One mod for FI so that might be doing it
What was the song used in the intro?
The Theme to Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault!
What game is this? Looks very cool
Combat Mission: Fortress Italy!

Working on a PBEM with someone now actually! They're very experienced in CM so it's not going as well for me but it's still fun!
