  • This is the second video of a 2 part series. In the first video we put a new blade face on a Deere 650h blade. Now we mate it to a new c frame and hydraulic system and mount it on the machine. Be sure to subscribe to our channel and like our videos and let us know what you think! This dozer has sold during this video but check with us you never know what we might have!

Those rear ram towers, if you have some old ones. They make good hinges for a truck dump bed or box. I had an 85 one ton chevy dually with nice diamond plate 10 ft flat bed bolted down. Boss had some old towers so if you cut them right the tops will sit on the frame with the tower side going down on one side to bolt to the end of the frame. One for each side. The towers are built with those plates just below the pin holes that sit perfect on the top of the frame and the side going down bolting to the frame then weld some tubing or something to the bed or box and they worked perfect for easily removable pins that just take the pin bolt out pull the pins and can remove. I made a hydraulic dump flat bed out of it . Came in handy.

I see pin alignment is always an issue and some are really tough. Consider this - have a bad pin - saw in half (thereabouts) and grind down the cut end into a nose cone. Maybe just a slight one as you are closer than the half pin. Now put it in with the real pin following behind and as the real pin drives it forward, it aligns the opposite eye. And it drops out the back side for next time as the pin comes through. Just a thought . A tool post grinder would be nice for the lathe but a bench grinding stone is good enough.

I am a first time commenter, and a recent subscriber. I like what I see and hear so far, so in the interest of not having an interruption of your ability to make videos due to an eye injury. Please consider changing the shaded glasses you wear quite often on your hat, for clear safety glasses. I watched you drive the painted ends of the lower dozer blade pins, with a bare face and a round faced hand sledge. Since you employ a number of people, and are responsible for their wages, even you as the boss need to were your own PPE.
So please take a moment to have the right stuff at hand for yourself, just like your boys do when they work with you Dad.
Have greatly enjoyed the experience of watching your efforts so far Best wishes, now "hit it with your purse" LoL.

I commented a couple weeks ago about how we used 650s and would break and Crack the heck out of the C frames and the boss finally had made his own. Having the steel 3 times thicker bent and we welded them up 8 pieces total etc.. And they solved the problem. And you responded, thanks. But I then noticed these newer C-frames in your videos.. Either those are a newer factory made ones or they are ones someone made. Anyway, just wanted to say that ours were the one piece squareish tube C frames on the 80s to 90s. Not sure when jd changed or improved their factory C-frames. Thanks

Kevin must have figured he was going to be working alone since he decided to wear his “unsupervised” shirt.
Looks much better with the 6 way blade on it but the V blade had its purpose for the 650’s previous life.
Now get it painted and send it to DP to “test” it out. He’ll probably trade in his D4G on it like he did with the 850J. 😉
