- Nail Transformation! Cutting My Long Nails SHORT!
New Year, New Nails!! After years of super long nails I decided it was time for a nail transformation and I chopped off my long nails!!! It was such a shock cutting my nails short, but I do love the finished look with nude cover gel and silver holo glitter from my nail art glitter range "Divine by Natasha Lee"! Also prompting the nail transformation was that I really badly broke my nail and wow it hurt!! I decided it was time to cut my nails off but I did have to do a nail repair on my broken nail which i did with liquid builder gel in a bottle and sculpted a new nail on a nail form. Let me know if you think I should keep my nails short or go back to growing them long!

As a former manicurist, square or squoval nail shapes are a typist's best bets for speed. I can type about 65 words per minute with nails about an inch past my fingertip IF they are square or squoval. Stiletto, extreme ballerina/coffin or almond slow me down significantly because they don't have enough contact with the keys at the tips to keep them from sliding around on the keys. I can only type about half as fast with pointy nail shapes.

Such a weird feeling to touch things on the very tip of my fingers! My nails are quite long and like you, I put something over the top. I keep thinking I should cut them short to do clear tip designs but I'm never brave enough to do it! Yours are gorgeous. Well done.

Quick question. When I push back my cuticles I don't get much if any white fluff come off. Is that something I should be worried about? I'm 25, I maintain my cuticles with homemade oil and push them back every week to two weeks. (There's literally no decent nail techs in my area, I've looked.)

I always have short nails. It started because I had weak splitting nails, but as I found products that let me grow them out, to an extent anyways, I clip them short as soon as I get the strange feeling of losing being able to feel things on my finger tips. It's funny, since its the reverse of what you described when you shortened yours.
I guess we all just get used to our own "normal" 🤔🤗💜

If it's not too personal, if you were back in your salon, how much would you charge for this manicure, if a person came in with short, natural nails? I bought some of your products, and I love your nail files. I bought the one you recommend for natural nails, and it's perfect. For some reason, the glass nail files make my nails split. I don't have splitting problems, EVER, unless I use a glass file. Go figure. I'm interested in the gel product you used, because I'd like to give my nails a bit of strengthening, not an extension, but a bit of strengthening. I have a structure gel, but I don't know how to get the best use out of it.

Ive been struggling recently with my nails peeling, I dont know if its the time of year or being a nurse and the constant washing of hands but Ive been a nurse for 6 years and theyve never been this bad. I have seen the video where you make your cuticle oil - that's pretty neat! Where do we find the, I presume empy, oil pen-brush? I like the shorter nails on you, especially with this nail art. It is so appropriate for Winter snowy weather.
They are made for watercolor painting. I got mine from a dollar store equivalent

Love your short nails. But they are about the same length of my long nails, lol. I keep my nails natural and find that when I grow them out to about your short length, they start to curl in on the sides. Is there anything that can help with that and still keep the nails natural?
Cuticle oil. Sounds like they're drying out. If you use acetone for removal of whatever you have on top, this will dry them out. xx
Just sounds like you have a naturally strong C curve. I have the same issue with three of my nails. Shaping your nails into a coffin or almond shape can help conceal it. :)
I don't know if I could take my nails down that short again. That is a major transformation and beautiful
