Hands down the BEST, MOST TRUTHFUL video I've viewed. I'm a parent and had zero clue to guide my young adult. Same boat, 503 taken sophomore year, excelled finishing 3 yrs instead 4 etc but only applied to 3 schools in state. 1 interview and denied. I'm heartbroken and frustrated. You said it best, 100% qualified yet denied because you're at the mercy of an opinion and 4000 applicants with only 50 spots! So it deters a gifted, passionate young person from achieving his dream? Really? Then you learn about carribean/DO and are uplifted only to have so many MIXED opinions trekking you "don't do it! Take a gap year..." Meanwhile, the end game is to help and contribute to society becoming a doctor. So you research (how i found your video) and second guess your decision on accepting the more difficult path based on what? Again, opinions! I look forward to your journey updates. Told my son the same. It's in God's hands. I thank you again for your honesty and inspiration to other students in this situation. God Bless you in this journey.
This is so true, Iâm glad you felt comfortable sharing your story. Itâs rlly something people across a lot of different fields need to hear, cuz uni isnât easy and getting to your final goals isnât either. I wish u the best on ur journey, even after getting in itâs a lot of work, but ur motivation and dedication toward this goal will get you wherever you want to go. Trust in god and the process, and everything will fall in place!

Hey, hope all is well! Iâm in the current process too - did you accept your acceptance offer? Itâs not binding and only confirms that your spot is there should you want it. I heard you mention that the place wasnât the right one for you, and in addition to that, Iâd still hold onto that spot worst case scenario so you donât have to reapply! Hopefully your ideal school offers you admission. Congratulations future doctor!
Hey, I thought about that but this particular school to reserve a spot is in the thousands while others are in the hundreds. It would have been a good investment if I was planning to go there but after deliberating I dedicated on not goingđ. But thank you very much for the insight!
