First!
From the one and only!
.
It is so beautiful. You make it look too easy. I’m not crazy about the pulls. However, I have no suggestions. Thy just remind me of some old wooden filing cabinet in a dingy factory office. The piece is too beautiful for that. Thank you for sharing.

The nightstand looks great! I'll say it for the hundredth time... You have proven that you do not need expensive boutique brand paints to get a high quality finish on furniture.
Thanks!! You got that right! Some of those prices are just outrageous...
Just check with them, for a 2k.thing they will ask at least 40-50k, extracting charges of CZcams, model even their office AC bills
I never thought of lacquer over a dark paint color. Thanks for that. The table looks better with the update.
Thanks!
You got a very nice finish on there. Black glossy handles do show up on the black but SATIN finished wood. I probably would have used some brushed silver/stainless steel handles of the same shape just for increased pop, but the black on black is a more masculine look. Nice job all around.
Good idea and great job, it turned that old piece of furniture to a contemporary nice looking one.
It looked like a grayish black at the end I like it :) I think I’ll become a DIY DIVA instead of always paying somebody else to do it! Thanks for the tip
The nightstand looks great! I might have gone with a contrasting handle in chrome, maybe, but the black handles look really good.
Wow!! Nice work!! Admire the outcome also how thorough you are doing the job!!!
Thank you Joanne :)
Love this makeover.

Pretty finish. Very professional look.
I have plenty of furniture I want to do this too.. love the end results
Love the black & the hardware is awesome, used currently & years ago in kitchens. Great look, black on black.
Glad you like it Elizabeth!!
@@FurnitureFlippa what were you using on the towel in between the paintcoats.. Would you plz tell me the product name?
Wow. I absolutely love that.
Thanks Heather :)

Thank you!! glad you liked it
Beautiful!
Beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing.
I loved it. You did a fantastic job.
Thanks for the kind words, Dennis!
This was very timely! I have two bedside tables which I had previously painted black, but am planning to re-paint as the paint has chipped. This time I will sand between coats.
Yes, sanding will help the paint adhere better to each surface, reducing the chance of it chipping off. Plus it makes a pro smooth finish. To prevent chipping in the paint apply multiple thin layers of a topcoat finish, 3-4 or more for ultimate durability. I use lacquer but it's pretty toxic so be careful of that. There are other choices to use such as various polys, they are popular. Spray on topcoats in spray cans are easy because you don't have to worry about getting it into each crack with a brush or rag. But you need to make sure you apply many coats. Good luck!
Yes all your tips will help me do a better job, thank you.

That looks so good !! I wanted to paint mine so you know about how much everything was all together?
Thank you for this video, how long did you let it dry?
Very nice 👍 I like the pull knobs for a male but for a girl, I would have done some bling bling 😂 thanks I needed this tutorial for a table, can’t wait to get started 😉👍👍
thanks for watching!
Looks great! I want to paint my bed black do you think I can use this method?
This looks like there was never a “before” excellent job ❤️🇬🇧
Thanks so much!
What’s the mineral thing you’re using with the cloth? I didn’t see it listed in the links… thanks!! Great video!
Thank you
Im a new Subscriber, although Ive watched more than one of your videos.
Im going to be painting similar bedside tables black.
Tfs 🤜🤛
thanks for subscribing! And good luck on your project. I have a few projects coming up, I have some end tables I think I am going to paint white!
Hoping to paint my white bookshelf black once it gets delivered
How did you get your satin finish so consistent? I'm having a hell of a time variations in the finish.
Great video man
Thanks my friend
Very nice.
Thank you!
Do you sand between coats of the lacquer?
Nice job. TFS
Thanks!!
When we sprayed the lacquer, it did not dry fast and seemed white. I did this spray outside so do you think that there was dirt from outside? Windy? I wiped it down and took it in to dry but I think it dried quickly and smeary. I waited 30 minutes between sprays. Please let me know.
Hi. Love the paint job. What paint brush did you use?
Which color of the WATCO finisher did you use for the spraying?
How easily you painted your drawer. I am currently repainting my window from blue to white. I applied the paint without sanding first as i didnt have equipments or sand paper. Done 2 coats still looks messy.
How much time do you wait in between coats to sand then paint again?
Thank you I was about to sand completely but now I know I don’t have to
no prob!!
whats were you doing before the painting? Removing the brown paint?
Good jobbbbb 🤩
Thank you!!
Definitely have been thinking about retouching a coffee table and a night stand in black. Any suggestion on how much paint/lacquer?
Also the night stand has a wood on wood slides on both sides of each of the two drawers. One side of one of the drawers has worn sot hat it sits a bit uneven. Is there a cheap, easy, and quick way to fix that? Like the wood that the drawer slots over is fine, but where the weight of the drawer is held it has worn.
A quart of paint would be plenty for a coffee table! For a topcoat, you can use lacquer, but you can also use furniture wax or water-based polyurethane. If using a spray can I would say 2 minimum and for wax, you'd have to buy the typical size can which lasts for a very long time.
The drawers you can add wax to see if they slide better or you may need to replace the slider, which starts to get into some woodworking more than painting/refinishing haha good luck!
Will black matte enamel give the same look and finish?
I have watched a few videos and I love the care you take in refinishing the projects! Impressive. How much would that flip for?
Thank you! I sold this piece for $135
what did you use to hold the furniture up?
Great work what kind of paint and brush did you use?
Can I ask how many cans of laquar it took for one of these . I’m planning on doing two bedside tables . Two side tables, and a dining room table.
Curious as to why you didn't use a sealer before painting?
Can you please tell me the first kind of sand paper to use?
Ima try the wax thing for Two night tables I painted
Awesome! good luck with the project
Wow
is this furniture or indoor outdoor paint. Do I need primer my dresser is new, but i just don't like the color anymore! It is a white oak grey wash.
How long did the whole process take, start to finish? Thanks!
Hi firstly thank for your detailed video
I like the transformation
What product should be used for black stain?
And can we use the same process for staining ?
You can get classic black woodstain or ebony. When staining you don't have to sand after applying stain. Same process with the finish!
Did you need to sand and put primer?
Did you use alkyd or latex satin paint?
Can I do this with kitchen cabinets too?
Hi
Thank you 🙏
But can you list all the materials you used please
Your "After" looks a zillion times better than the "Before." 👍
Thank you!!
@@FurnitureFlippa Well, I was just stating the obvious! LOL!!!
No kidding....You did a fantastic job, and your result is stunning!
Just keepin' it 💯!!!
Nice video. Two clues to your location. The "odour" warning on the paint and your pronunciation of "out." I've loved my trips to Canada.
What color paint is that? Is it satin black or matte?
Like the names and where did u get it from
Think I’ll be going by goodwill to looks for a night stand...
Whenever I find a nightstand at a thrift store I just want to paint it black now! LOL So easy but so classy looking.
Hey there, how long do you wait for the paint to dry before sanding? Also is 220 grit for sanding between coats fine? Thanks!
Time can vary depending on humidity and temperatures. I sand when the paint is completely dry to touch. 220 grit sandpaper is fine, I prefer to use a sanding sponge at 220. Thanks for watching!!
Hey can you link the wax u used
So you sand or do anything in between the final 3 finishing coats of lacquer?
I don't, lacquer will bond to the previous coat. After applying 3-4 coats, I sometimes buff it with finishing paste wax and 0000 steel wool, then a final buff with a rag. But make sure the lacquer is dry, I wait a couple days to do so. This makes it super smooth!
