Hi! My name is Shannon and I own a little business called Black Sheep House where I refinish furniture. This business provides our family with extra income and is a major creative outlet for me! I started this channel to help others to make their homes more beautiful and to help other furniture painters learn tips to increase their skills. I'm glad you're here! - Jak na to + styl
Hello, I tried this painting technique and did great work. The bottom of my kitchen cabinets is great. Now, I don't know what to do with the top. Because the upper part is painted in a classic style and is very textured 😅. you are great, thanks
Very nice
Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included czcams.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
What amazing tips !! Thank you so much. It looks incredible. I struggle with dark colors and brush strokes so I truly appreciate the tip!
I tried the brush on-roll off technique today and it's amazing! can't wait to do my next piece of furniture.
Yes iv been using the roller in this manner as well glad to see that another experienced refurbisher does also.
That dresser is really professional looking! I remember when the before picture dresser was in style!
You truly just helped me with that one!! I'm definitely doing on my next client's furniture. Looks like it saves a lot of time! 🥰
Yay!! ❤️
Nice tip to use the foam roller after the brush, to smooth the surface.
I tried your polyurethane method on 3 tables. Works like a charm! Thank you. Now I’m going to try a black piece like this. I look forward to your videos.

Happy to see you keeping these pieces alive. We are in a ever moving world where large beautiful yet heavy pieces no longer have a place in the Ikea once and toss junk.
It turned out absolutely perfect!
Painting furniture black is one of my most favorite things ever. It just looks so good and the contrast in a lighter color with it is amazing.

Thank you for the tip. Looks so good.
I appreciate your thorough videos! Keep it up! 💜
Great tip, I hadn't heard of that one so maybe you did invent it! lol In exchange, I've got a tip for you! When working with dark finishes put a little of the dark paint into the polyurethane and mix. It makes for a more streak resistant application!! Hope you find this helpful (:
That’s a great tip I need to try out!
Great tip too thankyou
You have a real talent.
Wow. Definitely going to use this. Thank you
Great tips!
Love this and looks so good. The paint color is like a soft black and I love it!!
Yes 😍
Love this!
i tried this and piece came out great. thank you
Beautiful!!
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Love the enthusiasm! Enjoyable video to watch. Thanks for the tips!
I am loving these suggestions because I literally cannot fathom getting a sprayer right now even though that seems to give such a nice finished result. Your idea looks so much cheaper, easier and a lot less messy!
Amen! Spraying is such an ordeal and it’s all or nothing, you can never walk away from it till you’re done. I do love the finish but sometimes it’s not worth the hassle!
@@blacksheephouse Yeah the amount of off-spray is just too messy for me. I would have to be wearing a hazmat suit because I wouldn’t even want that stuff to be getting on my skin! 😷
Thanks for your painting tips!
I did this technique today and the results were great. Previously I used foam brushes...but they generate so much "foam" and don't cover as well so you have to work the product so much longer in the same area. Using these rollers resulted in a smoother finish with almost no need to sand between coats.
Looks awesome
Great tip! Thanks
So professional , Impressive!!
Thank you so so much for your tips!!! 😊😊😊
That “top coat” application technique is brilliant.
Thanks for these GREAT tips!!
Beautiful job! Thank you for sharing your talent and ideas!
You’re so welcome and thank you for being here!!
Great help/video!
Very good idea i will try that for sure!!! Thanks!❤️
Great job !
Going to try
Great Tip - THANKS 😊
This is very nice and helpful. I'm going to save this and use on my diy table.
It was interesting that you used a generous amount of the protective coating - I have watched so many videos and they say use sparingly and the piece I am doing at the moment (newbie at this) has stroke marks everywhere in certain light - so will definitely be following your technique! Thanks so much for this very helpful video.
Hi Shannon! I love all your down to earth personality and videos, this is a great idea, I’ve used a sponge (a round one) but this roller one goes much faster 🙌 thanks for sharing 🙏
Yay! I’m so glad they are helpful to you and glad you’ve stuck around, Ninna! Let me know if you have any requests fir future vids, I’m always looking for ideas!
He owsome will try it
I really liked it
Beautiful!

That's beautiful!
Awesome technique! Thanks for showing it!
You’re welcome! Hope you stick around!
Looks lovely
Just found you! I've watched 2 of your videos so far and I'm so inspired. Love your style and you have a nice voice, so you are easy to listen to. I've got a set of bedroom furniture that I've never liked the color, so I think I will repaint them! You make it seem really easy. I'll start with the nightstands before tackling the bigger pieces.
Love this channel already!!! Can definitely relate to the A.D.D brain part! Such a great finish!!
Fabulous!
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
