Dave, Lincoln and the rest of the gang thanks for making this video. What a great little game this is. So easy to teach and play and has become one of my favorite fillers. My fiancé and her nephew love how simple it is but there's still enough there for gamers. Keep up the good work.
Less than 5 mins in and I'm already laughing. At 1:26 Aaron is labelled as "Rusty", and I just glanced over to see that and thought I had lost my mind. ;)
Yet again I get to learn a game that has been sitting in my collection unplayed---and I find out that I'll love it! I have the Japanese version "Summer Treasures" and I just never got around to reading the English rules. Thanks as always. Now I may need a circus version because of the music feature you've added.
Nikki was thinking "Is Dave playing the cards on the table so they can be seen by the overhead camera?" and looking at the overhead monitor at the end of the table ;). Thank goodness someone besides me worries about technical stuff. :)
If Nikki chose not to draw the "Tamer 5" card and drew and took the last card (which was the "Acrobat 1" card), would she have won the game instead? I think she would have scored 67 points and Lincoln wouldn't get a turn and meld his set of 1s.
The situation for Nikki was she felt that she needed to make the meld. If Nikki flipped the card and zonked she would not have been able to make the meld. So she made the safest choice to ensure she made the meld. Safe certainly does not always mean it's the best play. I was shocked she felt that she needed to meld sixes. Nice work, nice game. I think it would be more interesting if you could only take the card on the end of the row, except after the Parade. That would really make the decision to flip or take a card a lot different. Scoring would probably be lower, too. :)
Nah, I'm not that cruel. I was really rushing to have this episode complete and uploaded before BGG Con Spring so it could go up on time. It's only going to get crazier for the next few weeks with the 10 Spiel des Jahres videos coming up. Stay tuned.

Damn. It sucks that this is already back out of print. I’d love to have it and it’s light enough I think my family would actually enjoy it.
