This is the game we played when our parents didn't allow GTA
Ramasubbu Srinivasan my mum took away gta 3 and I wanted this for the longest, I eventually got it
You're Indian, bruv. I don't think our parents really cared what the fuck we played lmao. I got GTA VC as my first computer game back when I was 6 yo, because it was the only game available in the local store
I had gta iii but I played this more
i missed this game because i was alowed to play GTA. 😂
Vice City to be exact.
@@sibtainafridi9197 speak for urself man my parents were reluctant to let me watch the damn show
simpsons hit and run the type of game to make a satire of a game about satire
And its great
In case you don't know ladies and gentlemen, I'm taking a small break from all production now this review is complete. After 5 and a half years of working on this content daily, I feel as though the time has finally come. I just want to re-charge my batteries, and look at how to improve the reviews in the future. Thank you all so much for continuing to watch, and I'll return in the not too distant future...
Have a nice time friend you really deserve it, and earn it, take care! We will wait you patiently
Enjoy your break bro I'll still be subbed when u return
Up at the right time
You ended with a great game... I never tire of hearing Simpson's Hit & Run.
Enjoy your break, you fully deserve it😊
“Oooh Homey, you’re so sexy when you’re paranoid”
This line just never left my mind ever since I first played this game many years ago.
Holy crap I remember that line!
Right! It’s just a really weird line that sticks and pops up everytime i see anything Simpsons related.
13:41 The "Reason" Patty and Selma oversee the racing challenges because they work at the DMV.
The 3d rendering style reminds me of the style used when Homer went polygonal (3D) in Treehouse of Horror VI.
That's actually the aesthetic they were going for
is that the one where homer becomes 3d and sees fish in a pond and says "mmmm. unprocessed fish sticks."?
update: yep! czcams.com/video/3dvavcX9I8g/video.html
My belly sticks out at the front and...
The amount of Simpsons jokes in this damn review was so good.
I love this game. It’s definitely one of the best Simpsons games ever made.
It's THE best.
Of course. We can all agree that Simpsons Skate boarding is the best Simpsons game ever made.
@@GyroGarrison nah, the Simpsons wrestling is top tier gameplay
Wrestling then skateboarding then hit and run all top tier though
The Simps: Donate & Run
Best comment
lol
The one game I want a remaster of
Same
Everyone says that when it comes to nostalgic old games
Doesn’t really need one. It would ruin the game, they would make everything too realistic
@@BigSmoke-xh5hi these company's always find a way of fucking it up, backwards compatibility is all you need
@@BigSmoke-xh5hi tell that to destroy all humans
This used to be my GTA as a kid, not to mention that it was one of the my first GameCube games.
The best Simpsons Hit & Run review...that we know of.
One thing that I found interesting was that when you supposedly jack a car, it turned out your character was riding shotgun with the driver driving you around.
I was on the last tree house of horror level when I finally realized that. It blew my mind I went so long without noticing I was sitting shotgun :)
Once again you made nostalgia hit me like a pro boxer uppercut, feel like 2003 all again, even thou i got this one in 2004 lol
I like how he brings up AVGN as im thinking about him while he names off all the games
Man, I had a chat with one of my co-workers today and we came to an agreement that majority of those games we loved as kids eventually became AVGN episodes. Like Home Alone 2 for example.
Ok I absolutely adored ur constant references, I think I caught everyone cuz it’s umpossible for me to miss one
It was good for a larf.
It’s crazy how this never got a sequel.
They lost the rights to EA shortly after this game was released. However if you like this developers open world games they also made the Scarface game.
2buxaslice but it’s not the Simpsons
@@NTEDOG561 It's not the Simpsons, it's Scarface, therefore better.
@@JDelwynn that game was mediocre plus we’re talking about the simpsons so no not better
The reason Patty and Selma
are in charge of those side missions is something to do with their job at the DMV.
This classic deserves a remaster!
how many people you have post notifications on tf
You like this guy also!
I never really did the missions and just jumped on people's heads to kick them.
"I'M SCARED AND DISORIENTED"
7:41 But it wasn't Marge that was plowing Into children, it was Cletus.
I always liked how the maps were a 50/50 blend of Grand Theft Auto style open world and Need For Speed style road/highway circuits (Think from the early era up to about Underground 1). The details were a lot more focused than Grand Theft Auto because the levels weren't gridded up like a city so the driving was fun. At the same time it gave an impression of an open world because there was just enough variance, shortcuts, etc and how the levels changed over time that it didn't get stale. Add in an actual story line and the whole thing was both charming and fantastic.
2003 was honestly the year of the licensed games! Hit And Run, Battle For Bikini Bottom, Futurama the game, Enter the Matrix and Knights of the Old Republic as some really notable ones.
This game was such a huge part of my childhood and I absolutely love it!
A remake of this game would be sweet.
Mods exists for this game, including some that improves textures. Don't know which ones, never played the game lol.
People say that about every old game....
People always say that about nostalgic old games
A remaster would ruin the game anyway. Like they would try to make everything too realistic when it’s literally the simpsons
@@BigSmoke-xh5hi You don't understand the power of modern shaders.
Just look at all the cartoony Nintendo games on the Switch, all looking great thanks to having good shaders, you don't even need to put much work on textures.
Always wanted a remake/remaster for this game.
It would ruin the charm
@@BigSmoke-xh5hi no it wouldn't
Hay1338 it would. Simpsons isn’t meant to look realistic
Thank you sir for the memories...loved this game and still have it. Might have to dust off the ps2 and take a trip to Springfield soon.
If anyone is interested in speedrunning, I would recommend this game!
Battle for bikini bottom too
"felt so radical at the time" ba dum tss
This channel has reviewed almost all of my favorite games!
Jumping Caesars catfish, by now you must have the wrists of an 80 year old.
Man my Teen Years with Both Road Rage and Hit and Run. Wish they did make a Sequel. Never bought the Simpsons Game though thats the one I missed!
The Jackie Chan game was made by radical entertainment and it always sounds like Jackie says the logos name sarcastically
this style of simpsons game would work wonders nowadays, there are so many good opportunities for a simpsons parody game of game genres (souls like, JRPG, City Simulator), and it even works with the branding that simpsons has nowadays of being a huge vehicle for references.
I love how many Simpsons references you fit into this review 😂👍
Great video as always. Enjoy your break!
Fun fact, Radical figured out how to load the whole map of Road Rage on the PS2 all at once, days AFTER Road Rage shipped...
Enjoy your break don’t leave us take a chill pill for a while
I kinda want to play this game but i don't want to use my gorgeous PS2 Slim with that awfull Controller... i think i'm too spoiled with my Xone Controller ;)
Nice Review of you, i'm glad we have someone like you on YT
PlayStation controllers are terrible and made for small hands
Play it on PS3 it’s better and Xbox one controllers are shit compared to PS4
@@Alexander_l322 the PS3 ones are too light and cheap manufactered. Nearly the same with PS4 ones. I prefer my Elite 2 one.
Toxic Whipped Cream you’re talking about the first PS3 controllers without DualShock3 which were light and to be honest I liked them but they did stop those and made the proper DualShock 3 controllers so were heavier with the rumble motors. PS4 controls are way different and better of course, Xbox controllers are weird and the elite ones are expensive and break a lot.
@@Alexander_l322 i have my Elite 2 since the realese, i use it nearly every day for abaut 4-7 hours and had o problemes at all (same with a lot of friends and strangers). Maybe you mean the v1 which broke often.
But i'm glad that humans are different and have not the same prefference, because the fight between those companys bring us good and cheap hardware and software.
The most prominent game of my childhood and I've played A LOT of games.
This was my favourite PlayStation 2 game, so much fun to play. Awesome video. Thanks 👍
Finally!!!! I wish you a great break ☺️
This game NEEDS TO BE REMADE ASAP!!!
What a classic, I have good memories of this one.
i loved it so much 😍
osama Abu-Hamdan take it easy
i cant
i play it on dolphin mmj right now !
Y'know, Burnout Revenge and Paradise are mainline games, ya gotta review em'
This game desperately needs a remaster
Scarface: The World is yours, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, Gran Turismo 4
Oh man, I remember this game fondly. I hope they do another open world Springfield game on a modern system.
very good review. Giving you a subscribe
This was a good Christmas present for 2003, even though it wasn't my present!
the best review of a Simpsons related video, the jokes and references r spot on
Upvoted for saying you still watch today (2020) instead if bashing modern Simpsons like most people today.
I thought I was the only one that had that Are We There Yet? Springfield book. Thank you for proving me wrong
Seeing as you reviewed so many open world games, you should review the Yakuza series, or at least Zero.
10:25 is that Fusion Fall music in the background??
I noticed something: the sound effect for picking up coins in this game is (according to my ears) the exact same one that is used in Crash of the Titans when collecting mojo. Radical developed both of these games, with CotT coming out four years later.
(Also review CotT ok thx bye)
Hope you review the just cause games at some point. Love your videos.
One of my most favourite games of all time, just pure fun, didn't even mind the glitches
Thank you
I needed this again
Have you ever played WipEout Fusion? I know you've done a review for WipEout HD. So why not do this for the PS2.
Upon playing the game, the first thing that Matt Groening did was kick Marge He then spent 20 minutes kicking her all the way down the street to the Kwik-E-Mart.
You embiggened this review with your cromulent performance! Bravo!
Guys, he did it. He reviewed GTA Simpsons
Thanks mate, please do simpsons road rage
I got this back in 07 and I finished it in a month. I just started playing it recently and I can tell you it's GTA for kids.
I hope one day they'll do a remake of this game...
1 of many people's most loved games ever which is precisely why I hope a sequel never happens now.
It would be a potential gold mine for microtransactions, tiered loot crap, live service, making anything a grind if you didn't buy said MT's etc, for all the worst things in gaming today an open world game + the licence of 1 of the most popular TV shows of all time a new Simpsons open world game would be the biggest breeding ground you'll ever see.
Played GTA as a kid, now playing Hit&Run as an adult.
If this game ever came back it would be amazing to see it in VR
What they made prototype I guess they just shaped my whole gaming childhood
THIS SHIT MUST BE REMASTERED
What do you think about
(The suffering) on the PS2
I rented this game as a kid and I was surprised how fantastic it was. This was before I knew anything about it and although I knew it wasn't THAT good, the decent gameplay and wealth of Simpsons references solidified it into my nostalgia forever. And I didn't even own it
I like this game, although I wish there were missions that weren't timed; I liked to take my time with these type of game.
As for screen tearing, i never paid to much attention to that in any game, since I was focusing on what I was doing in the game world, but I can understand why reviewers bring it up.
You missed how well the soundtrack was made
Bart and Lisa are my favorite parts of the game I like how the music changes with each character
I think I've wanted to make like 100 various Simpsons quotes watching this
I never actually got to play this game, mostly because I didn't see every single classic Simpsons episode, so the references from this game wouldn't give me much of an impact and also because I am rather careful when it comes to movie & TV show licensed games. Let's just say not all of them are good.
I wish they'd make a GTA Family Guy or South Park clone that'd be more fun as in they'd have no restrictions
Simpsons are better
Simpsons already did it...
Hit and run was honestly one of the best games ever. My only gripe is the gameplay needed more depth. Would have been cool if every character had a combat or inventory for more diverse gameplay. Like a slingshot for bart it would have provided mission variety
The game is still decent, but upon watching this review you notice things you were completely oblivious to as a kid that now look pretty poor. I will always respect the game for it's time though and the care that those devs put into it
Good stuff colorshed a very underrated game that’s always a fun play
I'd assume a second hit & run game wont happen for various reasons but it would be good if they remade this game using the same audio for current gen systems
Have a good break! Rest as much as possible.
If you kick people they sometimes will fly 50 meters in the air. I think it is a bug but that happend to me sometimes while playing this game on my ps2. It still is funny to see that.
Are there othere people, who had the same experience? ^~^
Can you do review of Army of Two when you return? That would be cool 🥺
Need a remaster of this game
It would never happen while EA holds the license but I really hope we get an HD remake one day
I would kill for a remaster on switch :)
Review the other simpsons game that came out after this
Hit and run has the exploration of gta and the driving of burnout
What a classic!
Man we seriously need a remaster
The Simpsons game that came after this was alright, and does have the benefit of having animated cutscenes in the style of the show.
We need a remake of this game!
A all time great, puts a big smile on your face when playing it.
I love that Ray is a patron
they took so much inspiration of GTA they even used a crime for their name (hit and run is the crime of running somebody over and then driving away. likewise, grand theft auto is the crime of stealing somebody's car while on the street)
The shitting control make the platforming challenging, if it was all smooth and the camera worked properly it would be way to easy
What a great review
