I have never visited the Cotswolds. It is beautiful. I live in Kent and there are some glorious places around us.

Lovely to see such a great video of my home town. I was born , and lived in Chipping Campden and was christened in St James’s church’s . I emigrated to Australia in 1967 but Chipping Campden will always be “home”.
I love wandering around Chipping Campden. It is such a lovely place. We've enjoyed the Bantam Tea Room a few times 🫖☕

Yes we had a good weekend for the weather. It was at the end of the hot summer drought of last year. Think it got to 38c that day.

Gosh you hit the perfect day - apart from some of the closures - it is rather amazing that the parish church wouldn't be open on a Sunday morning! Rather a sad commentary - time was the church was a sanctuary & would always be open. Really is a lovely place, just can't remember ever going there, although I'd think I must - really is a gem - shame about the old house being torched in the Civil War, would have love to have seen that, certainly enjoyed a plum position. You're doing a sterling job for England! Another one to share.
I think we were just to early, it was before 9am from memory, the service probably was not until 11am.
@@MemorySeekers We like to be out early (I used to!) but you forget a lot of things don't get going till after 10 - was a lovely walkabout, so hope lots of people visit after seeing your video.

Yes we like to get in early so you see the buildings without all the people. At times the Cotswolds can be busy and these market towns fill up.

I’m sure you have been to Burton on the Water one of my moms favorites. Broadway. You are so good. Love to travel with you. Someone who shares my passions to traveling through England. Will be teaching in England this summer. Brighton or Bath. Not sure which one I will choose. Love both areas.

Did you find the garden dedicated to the Wilson gooseberry now known as Kiwi fruit, Chipping Camden is a beautiful Cotswold town, my wife and I enjoyed walking around it.

this is the place where Greene achieved his first commercial success in writing Stamboul Train. Maybe it provided him funds to move on? I am not familiar with his works I am afraid.
