  • ENGINE OIL CAPACITIY:
    1.4 Liters at draining
1.5 Liters at oil filter change
    1.8 Liters at disassembly
If you need to take some oil out there are two methods for this:
    1. Pump out excess oil with a syringe and a tube of the appropriate length that is inserted through the open oil cap.
    2. Carefully open the drain bolt and release a certain amount as needed(When the engine is cold).

      It's a hobby, I don't advise, I share, I make art.
Along the way I try to provide real information. And so are the mistakes you will find in my video, they are very real.
      At
      2:03
I claim that the WASHER is good, BUT it is NOT good at all.
      At
      10:13
Then it turns out that there a leak from the drain screw.
This is supposed to be funny. It's just CZcams, CZcams is not the Bible.
      At
      8:17
I fill in Motul 5000 oil which is semi-synthetic but of LOW quality, you need at least Motul 5100, and even preferably fully synthetic (Motul 7100).
That's what it is, a CZcams channel, nothing more and nothing less.

Hi. And thank you very much for the trust.
You can also use the forum CBR250R dot NET.
I don't know you, look, DIY mechanic hobby, it's a lovely hobby. Like all hobby, it doesn't save money, it costs money: The price of the preparatory literature, the price of the work tools, the price of your mistakes, and the precious time that needs to be invested in learning and repairing the motorcycle.
Those who have no prior technical background at all, are recommended for a beginner mechanic course. One of the first things to learn is safety rules at work. The dangers are many, it can even end in death.
Motorcycle mechanics is a matter for professionals. Hope I helped.

This is to ensure that it slides into place properly, and sits well on the surface.
That to ensures that the seal will be good.

how we know the gasket still usable or not?

    • @mycbr250rdmotorcycling7
      @mycbr250rdmotorcycling7  Před 7 měsíci

You can reuse it and see.
Hi. The gasket is a metal gasket. In order to seal, two conditions must be met: One, it must be flat, if you accidentally got a bend, it will no longer seal. The second, the gasket has a thickness that must be greater than the thickness of the tin itself, the additional thickness is due to a special bend along the edge of the seal, but usually, after one use, this bend is already non-existent, because the gasket is pressed, and then the gasket is no longer good. That's why the manufacturer recommends always replacing the gasket and the filter together. The gasket is very cheap.
If you don't have a gasket, under no circumstances use sealing glue. You can put the used gasket back in its place, and if you see that there is a slight leak, then buy a new gasket and replace it.
What should NOT to be done:
      1. To use a sealing glue is forbidden.
      2. To try tighten the screws tighter, it is forbidden.
      3. And don't make a mistake and put the filter in the wrong direction.

Hi, I heard it's easy to break the screws that hold on this oil filter cover. Maybe one of the screws broke? Then you have to extract the broken screw and replace it with a new screw. If you open that cover, it is very important to remember that the filter has only one correct mounting direction, and reverse mounting will destroy the engine!!!!
If one of the screws is not tightened, you can very gently give it a slight tightening.

    • @mycbr250rdmotorcycling7
      @mycbr250rdmotorcycling7  Před 9 měsíci

Maybe you need to change the gasket, clean the sealing surfaces gently, don't destroy the aluminum surfaces, don't scratch them, then install the filter in the correct way, and close the cover, be gently with the screws tightened.

  • @rabi1998

Why do you use 10w40 ? company recommends 10w30 . CBR 250 uses journal bearing instead of conventional ball bearing ,hence require a thin layer of oil for lubrication . also the oil line to the head ,cam is also very thin in compare to other manufacturer engine . its a myth that thicker oil is better in hotter region . now a days all modern engine uses thinner viscosity oil .

      Hi
You're right. Honda recommends 10W-30 as standard, on the other hand Honda allows a range according to different climate zones. Israel is at a latitude that is warmer than most European countries, so the local Honda dealership in Israel recommends on 10W-40. What is more important, or no less important, are the two parameters that determine the quality: The first is the JASO MA2 standard, and the second is that you need at least a semi-synthetic of high quality (because even in synthetic there is a matter of qualities).
And of course there is the importance of changing oil on time, or even to do an early changes.

Hey. Sorry, I don't know, ask at your local Honda dealership. It should be of a special JASO MA2 standard for motorcycles, at least semi-synthetic, and of good quality, because there is also low-quality semi-synthetic.

      ENGINE OIL CAPACITIY(By the book):
      1.4 Liters at draining
1.5 Liters at oil filter change
      1.8 Liters at disassembly
      BUT
What determines this is the measurement of the level, if needed you added. If you accidentally fill beyond MAX then remove the excess oil with a syringe and tube, or remove it in a controlled manner from the drain plug.

      In principle this is prohibited.
But if it is used for a very short time, for an emergency, to get to the mechanic, or to complete a short journey for safety, then it is possible.
The default recommended by the manufacturer is 10W-30 oil, and it must be an oil that is suitable for motorcycles (otherwise it is not allowed), and it must be at least a semi-synthetic oil of high quality (because semi-synthetic oils of low quality is also not good).
      SAE 10W-30 JASO T 903 standard MA2
According to the recommendation of the local Honda agency in Israel, 10W-40 is recommended.
I recently switched to Motul 300V (full synthetic).

But check with the local HONDA agency about the viscosity issue.

In Israel it is customary, on the recommendation of the local Honda agency, to use 10W-40.
What should not be missed is the oil standard.
The oil must be at least semi-synthetic, of good quality, and according to a standard suitable for motorcycles: JASO MA2.
That's why I stopped using Motul 5000, and switched to their higher quality oil from the 5100 series, which is of higher quality.
