God bless you both for being so benevolent, benign and what Veda Vyasa tells 'Paropakaraya punyaya papaaya paripeedanam', those who are helpful to society are earning benevolence, while those who are hurting others are earning sins. You belong to the first clan. God bless you again.

I fully agree that posture is so very important. Thanks for the reminder to keep my computer screen at eye level and to move around often enough instead of spending too much time in front of that screen. I don't experience cervical arthritis pain however I do have a strange looking 'nervous' habit when getting used to an updated prescription for glasses. Glasses that are progressive bifocals. I do have a strange sounding habit when needing to get an updated prescription for glasses which I have been putting off for too long. Instead of cracking my knuckles. Which could cause alarm in people whom I work with who do not understand that the cure for me concerning that would not be refusing for me to work the same hours there as I was before.

I’m 23 with severe foriminal stenosis. I have been battling post concussion syndrome for 5 years and have made great progesss but we never had the thought to do an mri of my neck. It’s a newfound discovery and I know im in for a different life. I am extremely active and have a perfect diet. All I want is a normal life. I graduated top of my class and have my dream job in manhattan - long way from where I grew up in alaska. I have so many dreams of an Ironman, raising a family, and having fun around the world. Now I have to re assess? I need answers, I’ll do anything it takes.

You left-out one neck movement which I personally find the most useful. You imagine you have a string connected to the center of the top of your head, much like a marionette would have holding their head up. You then imagine this string being pulled gently and slowly upwards and as this happens you lift your head as if it was being pulled vertically upwards by the string. I do this sitting down quite often as a little stretch when sitting at the computer (with good posture sitting-up straight of course) but I also do it when lying on my side in bed about to go to sleep and it seems to work even better in this position, I always get a small crack happen when I do it. It's a gentle and effective move.

I had an MRI done after my car accident and it showed spinal stenosis and arthritis. Before my accident, I never knew I had these conditions because I had no pain. My car accident caused herniated discs and bulging discs to press on my nerves. Talk about pain. I don’t wish this on my worst enemy. I have been to chiropractor for three months and physical therapy. I still have pain 5 months after the accident and I continue with therapy. I saw a pain specialist and they’re going to administer epidural injections in my neck. Hoping this helps out soon.

I was in an accident at age 30 that caused 5 herniated disk, 3 in the neck 2 in the lower lumbar, along with fibromyalgia. That's on top of lordosis, lumbar instability, arthro gypsies multiplex congenita and one leg half inch shorter than the other. I was left unable to walk for offer 5 years with my spine twisted to the side because I didn't have good directors. I went to my neurologist one day for headaches and he totally too over my case and put me into physical therapy at his hospital where I had to learn to walk again. Let just say I was in heels in 6 months. I'm now 50 and its all turned into arthritis. The pain isn't as bad as it used to because I've got good doctors but man, when it suicides to swell up, it cripples me for the day. I have to walk and walk and walk to relieve the pain. That itself can get annoying but I refuse to take anymore medicine than necessary. Sometimes the best thing is a natural remedy.

My recent spine MRI showd that I have cervical spondylosis. Can this condition also cause headaches and severe dizziness (I've been rushed to the ER on 2 separate occasions as both times I woke up from sleep with severe dizziness dizziness). Also the pain radiating along my left shoulder and arm seems to radiate into my left hip and leg. Is the cervical spondylosis responsible for the hip and leg pain too? Is that possible? Thank you in advance.

I've got AS with inflamation throughout my spine, my thoracic and cervical vertebrae give me the most discomfort. It's took a while but I can now lye on my back on a carpeted floor and yoga matt. After a few mintutes I can get my head to rest on the floor comfortably too, the relief I get is fantastic once I've worked through the initial discomfort and it's getting slightly easier after just a couple of weeks to get in that position. Something I cannot achieve without the assistance of gravity.

When my lower back was ailing. I finally got them to use traction on me. Worked within 3 treatments.
Would you guys recommend a form of traction for neck issues on this same problematic person. It feels like the weight of my head is creating most of the problem, along with bad posture. Or as I like to say, "Forced Posture", from doing jobs that require awkward neck positions.

I have cervical spondylitis, and my body is full of OA. Banging headaches with no let up years ago led to my having MRI scans to be told my back of neck muscles had gone into spasm and caused the headaches. The MRI detected cervical discs 1 and 2 as being Arthritic hence cervical spondylitis. I never want to experience the intensely severe headaches again like that...and have not had them since. However I have visited a chiro practitioner whom tries to relieve the stiffness I experience frequently in my neck muscles as my neck often stiffens upon movement. Also my body on my left side is out of alignment with the right side...in a lot of pain daily...pain can drive a person insane. And having O A is no exception to this. I strive to self exercise the muscles in my neck and have been shown how to do it...safetly...its a pain having an arthritic spine and curtails activities others take for granted...as the range of movement in the neck is not flexible anymore...Recently I've been ill and it was or started with feeling like I was being strangled intensely frightening as I had symptoms of choking. Placing me in hospital..I rang the wrong authorities at this time as neck felt as if in a vice....ambulance arrived and all my stats were out of synch with each other. 10 mins before this occurred I had been feeling OK and chatting on phone. Cervical spondylitis had in effect caused my whole body to shake and I did have benign hand tremors as a result of past headaches ( cervical spondylitis ) this condition is far from pleasant and as patients no longer wear a neck cuff as this tends to make muscles stiff over time, causing neck rigidity. I want to know how to prevent any future flare ups of this condition of wear and tear....?😊

I did it once for 4 days straight, while sitting down, and I felt muscle aches and got dizzy during the 4th day. Should I rest my neck muscles? Does that mean I should exercise maybe every other day to give my neck muscles a break? What do you recommend? My personal PT advised that I do it every day, but I feel the strain when I do it that way. I didn't do the regular exercise rounds for 4 days and I feel better. Do you think I should continue with it? How often? Thanks for your reply! (I'm 42 years old, by the way)

? My C5,6,7,8 are budging and I have a pinch nerve that is shooting firery pain down my left arm to my fingers, as well as numbness and weakness, I don't see how I can do any of these except the chin tuck, Dr put me MethyIPRENISolone to calm the swelling, maybe after that maybe I can see if it works, if not surgery is next.

The biggest takeaway from all of this is KEEP MOVING!!
I have grade 4 arthritis in my knees. I also have it in my neck. My neck came later.
At first I thought I had torn a ligament. So I rested my knees for 6 months. It got worse. So I had a scan, and discovered the true cause. At that point, I could hardly walk.
Then I did some physio, and 6 months later. I'm back on my feet. I was ready for a wheelchair at one point. Simply because I stopped using my knees.
I have good days, and bad days still. But nothing like when I didn't use them at all. Man, that was horrible.
If you do nothing, then everyday is a bad day.

I'm 23 and I just got diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis. I've been having neck pain for 2 years before diagnosis though. Funnily enough, I started growing gray hair at age 14 😂
For all those saying "how did I get it so early" neck arthritis is about motion. I got it because I've been working myself so hard for years (started working desk job since 16) Take care of yourself and be aware of how many hours you work without resting/stretching.

They often repeat - if some exercise causes pain, don't do it (and try different one).
Sometimes stretching beyond usual movement range can help positively stretch the muscle, but I'm certainly no expert here. The key seems to be to work in painfree range and progress very gradually, with a lot of patience.
