3rd gen by far is my fave...still to this day I want an 07 or 08 Type S ❤❤❤
Yeah those were amazing. I loved the Cockpit style interior and blue lights with the 6-6MT. But when the 9th Gen Accord coupe came out with the J35 and 6 speed manual I had to trade her in.
If you have a 2nd gen TL or CL with transmission issues, and don’t want to manual swap, the AV6 automatic from the 06-07 Accord V6 is a direct plug and play transmission.
Good advice!
People like you keep this world spinning man, thank you
WAY better than the “Fitment” video of the TL!
As an owner of a 96,03,and 04 these are some of the best cars ever made!!
My favorite was the 4th gen. Though, i do think the 2nd gen was cool in the design and it's value.
I would love to see a video explaining the difference between Civic 96-00 models like de VTI, SiR, Domani etc it would be a excellent video
I second this 💪🏽
Keep up these fire Acura/ Honda history videos 🔥
Why didnt you continue on with the TLX? Its still part of the TL timeline afterall
True, but I did the Vigor as a seperate video which is also part of the timeline, I kinda thought the video would be too long and ppl wouldnt watch all of it if I crammed all into one.
I love all of them, but I’d have to say the 4th Gen is my favorite. Specifically, the refreshed SH-AWD Manual models.
3rd Gen Type S Hands down. Of course i have one now but I've also had a 2004 6-speed and a 2008 Base. Great cars.
Great video... U were pretty respectful to that hideous beak they slapped on the 4th gen tl. The refresh looked so much better... The beak only looked good on the zdx...
Hahaha "hideous beak" I love it! thats such a good description for it!!
@@AcuraAdvice I've always been a Honda guy, but even as a teenager when the 4th gen came out, we unanimously agreed they botched the design... Like the bmw buck teeth gril... But the bmw is a better performance car so ppl forgive it
Great video! I really want to see a video on the history of the acura RL
Thinking about getting a 2011 sh-awd. I really like the styling of them.
I just found your Chanel love the videos, I know it's probably not what you would usually do a video about but I think a fit/jazz video would be interesting. Keep up the great videos!
Welcome and thank you!! I'm totally down to do a Fit/Jazz video at some point, its been requested a few times now.
3rd gen TL🔛🔝🔥. Best design ever! Just swap out the old lights and slightly tweak the body panels a little & there u go its modern car lol
06 tl with the manual... My favorite car thus far... 220k miles and counting. Checks so many boxes for the price... I totally forgot i had an 02 tl as well...loved that car also, but the thrid gen manual takes the cake.
Which engine does that come with?
@@huntermcmurray9326 the base came with the J32...3.2L v6...258 hrspr... I forget the torque... Red lines at like 6800, but the engine loves to rev. Type s had the 3.5L with 286 hrspr. The 3.2 is enough power to be fun, while getting about 20mpg on premium gas, not killing u at the pump
@@marcjones744 okay cool I have an 06 auto I didn't know they made a base manual. Do you think that would be an easy swap? Otherwise I'm probably going to get an 08 type s
Im not gonna lie im rocking with the 2nd gen TL but if their is a proper way to manually swap it would be a complete sleeper for sure
Third gen by far! followed by the second gen. I sold my Type S two years ago.
3rd Gen TL is my favourite 💪🏽🔥. I own a 08 TL Type S 6sp with Aspec kit in Toronto 🇨🇦.
Nice! And you have an EM1 SiR too if i remember correct? Pretty awsome fleet you got going there! 🔥🚘🇨🇦
@@AcuraAdvice Thank you 🙏🏼. Don’t get to drive the SiR much. More videos on your SiR coming out soon?
How did u find one... I got the 06 sport wit manual... The closest I could find to a manual type s
@@marcjones744 bought is almost 8 years ago from a Kia dealership (trade in). Was listed on a Thursday afternoon. I bought it Friday morning lol 😂
@@proactivefiresafety954 lolololol... Were u looking for one in particular and waiting for one to come available, or u just so happened to be shopping and found it? I guess 8 years ago, manuals were really dying out until ppl realized they were disappearing and now ppl want them
Man the more i look and think about it the 2nd gen acura TL really have a similar looking interior/dash to look like the accord CF4/CL1 sir and euro R where it's foucs on the driver.
Yes they definitely share many of the interior components
Do the crv or odyssey next
My transmission died midway in downtown Toronto i put it in D2 and drove it home all the way by hazards on
2005 is a Great year for me, Bought a 2005 TL New Nav 6spm manual, come to found out the 2002 TL Type S with Automatic was Faster in a drag Race, Back when it 15K only ran 14.8 all day Vs TL Type S 14.7 easily, by 2007 Trade up for MAzda Speed 6, by 2013 Trade up The Speed 6 to Acura TL SHAWD 6spd $44K
I'm a second gen boy
Same but it's a pitty they had Trans problems unless you did some type of swap
Auto transmission problems are because people do not use the parking brake when parking. The original auto transmission of my 06’ base TL is at 400,000 miles and it’s solely because I religiously use the parking brake.
2011 sh-awd 6spd manual would get the nod...08 type S 6spd would be a close 2nd.
Which is more reliable??
4th gen looks best
Nah it's more like the 2nd best looking version. The number 1 spot goes to the 3rd gen
@@Stefin770 noooo 4th Gen looks the best … it’s bigger and better
I’ve never seen a 4th gen with heated and ventilated seats 🤔 is that a rare option that I’ve missed ?
Side note, they later had to rate the 3rd gen 3.2v6 to 258 horsepower...
Yes thats true, they changed the hp rating system around that time
lol Acura feels like they just see how high they can get a sucker to pay for an accord 😂 Acura’s a joke
Isn't that the whole point of every japanese luxury division
ive had an 8th gen accord an a 4th gen tl, i thought it was a more luxurious accord but really its a totally different car specially with the 3.7 sh-awd.
