Vera, I can’t wait to get back to my self, the way I used to be 20+ years ago. Watching you has my crying happy tears of knowing I will hear things I haven’t heard in 20+ years..

Vera, thank you for sharing your story; it really helped me through the whole process. I am now 6 weeks past Switch-on, and am doing well.

I'm within a week due for two implants. I am very happy to read her testimony. I know everything about the frustrations. But I also miss music and i wonder how that would be.

This has been so interesting and helpful to us in understanding how the implants work. How fortunate that your brain “remembered” sound! How amazing.

Thanks you for your videos which have been profoundly helpful for me. I lost all hearing in my right ear due to a surgical procedure to control Meniere's Disease 13 years ago. The hearing in my left ear is severely decreased with a 60 to 80 db loss. I thought my surgery was an absolute contraindication to cochlear implant possibility but with some basic research that seems not to be true, and your post-implant fescriptions are exactly what I need to correct and resolve. You have described the hearing impaired experience with complete accuracy and sensitivity,,, and have outlined the post cochlear implant process in such a way as to encourage one who has been enmeshed in the lonely almost silent world to venture out to investigate if things are not as bleak as thought. Thank you immensely

I am being referred to see if I qualify for the cochlear implant. I am hopeful that I get the implant, so I can communicate with my son and hear him playing his saxophone. Just to hear normally again is an answered prayer.

How you were able to speak normally before the implant as visible in the video that you were speaking when you went for the switch on

I wonder why she was not wearing a Rondo processor. Nevertheless, this is an inspirational video.

    I’m looking to get a MED-EL CI
With practice do sounds sound normal?
Can you tell who’s speaking with you by their voice or is that too much to hope for?
