Hi Nessa, I just ran across your video and I must say I'm glad I did. You gave such a great presentation. I'm a scheduled for CI soon I am nervous about it. I've been a hearing aids user for long time and now they offer me little benefit. I am hoping to be able to stream phone calls and listen to music to both my implant and hearing aid in my other hear simultaneously I'm still doing research in which is better for my needs. Thank you for making a great video you've done such a great job and I found it very helpful. It gives me inspirations to document my journey and help others like me.
I am very happy to hear that the videos have been helpful to you! The artone neckloop is a great option for streaming to both a hearing aid and a cochlear implant because they both can use the telicoil feature.
Hey, I just seen your videos. I actually had my hearing tested a few days ago and it hit me pretty hard that I have moderate to severe in high pitched tones. I will be getting some hearing aids and watching your videos has given me hope that everything will be okay.
I’m so glad to hear that videos have been helpful. I know it can feel scary at first but I have grown to love wearing my hearing aids. I don’t like being without them because I can hear so much better. And reality is hearing aids are just like glasses. They are just aiding your senses. And just like glasses can be fashionable so can hearing aids. I saw this girl with some rainbow hearing aid molds the other day and it was so cool. Don’t be afraid to style them the way you want so you feel confident :)
@@NessasLifescape I have a set of Phonak hearing aids, black in color. My audiologist isn't the brightest bulb on the string, as the ear molds she made were lousy and didn't last a month. So, I took the other ear molds off of my old hearing aids, the ones with the nice wax guards. Eureka! And then when I did a followup visit with her, she didn't even know the difference. My hearing cuts out at 1,500 HZ, so everything has to be compressed to those lower frequencies. But still, the most important frequencies are actually 800 HZ and lower because that is where all voice tones and vowel sounds are heard. Plus, locomotive horns, dogs barking, and tornado sirens sound off below 800hz, as well as fire truck and car horns. You lose your hearing below 800 HZ, and you might as well be totally deaf, because the chirping birds and crickets won't help you understand a conversation. You'll hear H, F, S, T, D, and B sounds along with chirping birds with nothing between and that's it. A person trying to talk will sound like air escaping from a leaking tire! My supervisor at work is extremely concerned about my taking a gamble on a cochlear implant, and losing any residual hearing I have, and wants me to find another audiologist who might find better adjustments or perhaps know of something with better technology. Most folks at work feel that I function just fine with my hearing aids, and that I would be better off just leaving my inner ears alone. How is Vanessa progressing?
plug nr3 UK (I guess) plug nr4 mostly continental Europe There are some analogue audio cables. You can connect them to TV, computer, telephone, ... (IMO) 😃🙋🏻♀️🇭🇺
Hello Nessa, I hope you are doing good sister. My 4 yr old went with cochlear implant recently. We have chosen rondo 3 plus Sonata 2 combination. So, I have some questions, we didn't received the audio stream adaptor and charging adaptors, air charge charging pad. I am thinking someone replaced those with different items, also the extra processor, is it ordered seperately or by default we will get two processors ? Could you please help me with this info, so I can I again recheck with the hospital team
Hi Vanessa i am here for my 5yr old Son who lost his Hearing in both ears following a Mumps infection,we are considering Synchrony 2 and Rando 3,kindly tell us ,how does Music and everything else sound through your Rando 3?
How do you talk on your cell phone? Do you hold the phone up higher closer to the implant to hear? I’m having surgery in about 2 weeks and no hearing aid for other ear. Is it better to also have hearing as well for other ear?
Once you get the implant, you should be able to stream phone calls to the implant directly using the audiolink or an artone neckloop and the telicoil adapter. This works better than trying to hold a phone up to the implant. This is how it works for the Medel brand anyways. I believe the other cochlear implant brands have a streaming feature as well, but I am not as familiar with how that works.
how do u deal when u are going to sleep? it is very confronting for me when i take off my aids when i go to sleep or taking shower, i cant hear anything.
