It was a pretty good episode, but I lost my shit at the dinosaurs shredding on skateboards at the end
Especially since Rick had found the concept ridiculous and inconceivable earlier in the episode lol
Grindosaurs sounds like a really fun concept for a film.
Something that I am really excited for that I don't think anyone has realized is that this are the first of the beings equal or smarter than Rick that have begun entering his universe post finite curve collapse.
But it's also cool that even though they are smarter than Rick they also have flaws and failings, just like Rick.
They were here the whole time though which kind of throws off the canon that Rick was the smartest man in the universe during the central finite curve era because they were clearly more advanced than him
@@briangak8815 tbf, Rick only says he is the smartest man, and âevilâ Morty, based his plans to leave the curve on his hatred of Rick, so there very well could be things we donât know (writing exposition with flawed characters gives good loopholes like that lol)
They're not smarter though, this universe is one of the ones where Rick is the smartest. He was just being lazy.
@@briangak8815 Rick did move to this universe after the finite curve collapse though, so dinosaurs may not have been like this is the previous universes we have seen.
I wouldnt say they are more smarter than him. They out teched him when he didnt know there was a battlr going on but in the second round he easily negged all their tech. Rick who is trying is different from Grandpa Rick who is just sitting at home drinking beer.

The C'thulhu monster in the intro finally paid off! Also, that was a really funny episode.
A great metaphor is how (since the dinos know skating proven at the end) Rick thinks dropping in would be easy and instantly fails looking like so many internet dads getting humbled in the process
Itâs a great subtle detail showing Rick isnât the smartest thing in his universe anymore

If I had nothing but time on my hands and money wasnât a thing anymore, I would take up new hobbies, such as crochet, playing chess, welding, archery, kick boxing, snow boarding, pruning bonsai trees, playing billiards, horse back riding, cigarette boat racing, meditating, learning how to play craps and roulette, learning new languages, and a ton of traveling. Think this episode was more about putting off issues we can solve because we can't be bothered. If something comes along to solve the problem for us for nothing we'd reject it.
I think this episode is so good too cause it makes people start thinking about what we would do if we lived in a world without money. Makes you realize it wouldn't be as hard as you think.

Everything humans make would be a passion project, the dinosaurs wouldnât have to provide us with much more than tools because everyone would be pursing what they want to do.

Well generally speaking everyoneâs raised to believe if we donât have a gun to her head we wonât work. Even though in reality we would get so bored we would start working for free. Though menial tasks would be taken over by automation, because nobody really wants to do them even in a post scarcity system.
I donât think the dinos would turn everyone into Jerry. I feel like they would open up the possibility of everyone living Rickâs life.
Since no one else is saying it: Shout out to Jason Mraz and his voice acting. I've been listening to him for almost 20 years and still didn't recognize his voice.

The problem with the dinosaur timeline is that there was no entertainment or anything. Because creating entertainment is a job. And its hard work for most people. So they dont want to work. But then they have nothing to do once they are out of work. Its something that cant be solved. Actually I just realized they showed that with both Summer and Jerry. Summer was creating content for Tik Tok. But once she wasnt making any money there was no satisfaction so she quit. Same thing with Jerry. He wrote a book but since he received no money, fame or even credit he resented it. No one is going to make a show like Rick and Morty if they didnt have to. Sure maybe Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon and the other writers and actors enjoy it most of the time. But its still hard work a lot of the time. And lets not even get into the animators doing tedious work for incredibly long hours to make an episode. Those are the people that will end up shutting it down. Because even in the Dinosaur Utopia if Dan and Justin want to keep producing Rick and Morty where are they going to find all the animators who would rather not do the grunt work for basically nothing in this utopia? Or how will the next Marvel movie get made? Even if Kevin Feige and Chris Hemsworth are down for Thor 5 because its fun to make, how about the rest of the people that are needed to make it? The caterers, the janitors, the carpenters, the graphic artists being incredibly overworked and underappreciated? I dont think the guy cleaning the toilets on the set of the next Ant Man really LOVES being a janitor so much that he will do it for free. None of those people would be MORE appreciated in this Dinosaur World. They just wouldnt get money they need and want for the labor they do.
