I love how they actually foreshadow that Mr. Poppybutthole is real.The memory that he brings up, being stuck in an elevator after the Hulk Musical, only becomes good when the Cousin Nicky parasite alters it, it was unpleasant before that. And, of the scenes he's retconned into in the intro, the vast majority are not even remotely positive.

The Point is that the parasites are the ones that make the memories good the moment they enter the scenario the family was in but Mr. PB never made the elevator a happy memory by himself.

One that actually does have had Mr Poopybutthole as a friend for a long time.

Untrue, just checked what you were referring to, he said he was "real", not that he wasn't from another universe than the one Rick C-137 currently was.
He also confirmed that he was **not** a parasite, so which is it? He can't both be real and Rick C-137's long time friend.

If you look back in the intro mr poopy butthole was there when bad things were happening. Beth didn't know about it because she's not in the intro
yeah, i was actually looking for a comment like this to make sure i wouldn't just say the same thing like a thousand times. yeah i think the only one who wasn't in the intro in season 2 was beth but i think i'd have to double check so i can be sure if jerry was in it too.
No. That doesn't count. The bad memory would HAVE to be DIRECTLY caused by PB. A bad memory of him would be him doing something to piss the family off or even something that hurt them.
The flashback Morty had of Summer is a perfect example. Summer was the direct cause of Morty's pain thus making it a bad memory he has of her.
The intro doesn't count because PB is just a spectator and not the perpetrator of what's happening.

There's 2 crazy theories about Mr. Poopybutthole, one that says that Mr. Poopybutthole is the alpha parasite, due to he is the one who tells to the family to start remembering, the other says that he is from another dimension and the family we see in the episode is not the one from c-137, it's from another dimension where Mr. Poopybutthole has always been part of the family

I don't think that theory is legit. I think the creators have tried to create a big difference between c-137 morty and other mortys. Our morty is a lot more assertive then the rest of the mortys something that would contradict that theory because some of the episodes people say follows a different morty are episodes where morty is shown being assertive and not taking rick's shit like other morty's do.
Johnny Vargas It does make sense since they made it clear that we didn't follow the same Rick and Morty on the episode when they leave Jerry at a daycare.

This Rick and Morty are the same versions that went with Fart in mortynight run as evidenced by the green glowing rocks Rick picked up at the planet they brought Fart.
I think this rick is an independent rick but not C-137

The only interdimensional sequence of events that seems to make sense in explaining the “Morty as a baby” memory is that the show’s protagonist Rick hopped dimensions and took the place of the C137 “Rick prime” (who had long ago, abandoned his family) for a period during Morty’s infancy, then left to find his nemesis, returning years later to his adopted family in an alternate timeline where his wife had died years later than in his original dimension.
Why put ‘shows protagonist rick’ we all know who Rick is.

Its also possible, that summer has bad memories of her original morty, and morty has bad memories about his summer. They dont need to be identical.
Although its still possible for both universes to be identical, up to rick potion no 9, the only difference being one getting lucky at the serum.

Regarding the conversation at about 20:00, I think the thing is that each episode could be its own universe with a unique Rick and Morty. Either that, or the one with Mr. Poopybutthole was the unique one, and the rest are C-137.
A little late but the first person he shot that you were mentioning, Brooklyn accent, wasn't a random guess. The second he called Mr. Poopybutthole Mr. Poopypants made him suspicious.
I love how they blend science into the plot. The concept of a parasite that modifies memories is creepy and trippy at the same time. It fits into the existentialist and nihilist themes of the show.
This is one of my favorite episodes.

It's theorized that this episode takes place in a completely different universe and these aren't the same Rick and Morty that we have been watching. That would explain the memories and why Mr. Poopy-butthole is shown as always having been a part of their adventures.

I think the over-arching concept is that Rick knows he is a cartoon, and he knows what will happen when his series ends, and he is trying his best to prevent the show from being cancelled, or is trying to figure out how to get the our universe, where we look into their universe, and watch it like a TV show
The opening credits show that Mr Poopy Butthole is actually real, because he is in all of the bad memories.

mr poopy butthole is a carry over from the episode where they put Jerry in day care (and also got the green rocks) but its so cleverly done theres whole reddits explaining theories about it

You see a episode where Rick took green stones with him and a parasite was attached to it(he throws them in the garbage at the beginning of this episode)
This was my main proof episode (now with 3x1) for the Morty Smarter than Rick Theory.
I mean, when you look at it, it's actually Morty that figures out the Parasites, not Rick, who actually seems kinda baffled/impressed at him.

This should have been one of the ones that have new people coming in mid-review.
I'll clear it up for you guys. The Rick of the story is known as Rick C-137. the C-137 is the code that identifies his universe of origin. Morty IS NOT from universe C-137. You see Rick with memories of a baby morty, but that doesn't make sense since Rick should not have been around at the time. So the baby morty in the memory is another morty, most likely morty C-137. The morty we see in the story is from the universe that got cronenburged, and so both he and Rick now live in a different universe.
