  • Emily hopes to be a writer some day; she wants to focus on writing things like screenplays or stage shows. Emily's passions include her dancing and also breakfast buffets! When asked about her greatest accomplishment Emily said she's proud to be presenting her very own TED talk, saying it's an opportunity of a lifetime.
Emily says her best friend Laura is the person who has most impacted her, the two of them regularly reflect on how different their lives would have been if they had not met each other. The quote that has changed the way Emily sees herself and the world is from the film "The Perks of Being a Wallflower, "We accept the love we think we deserve." Emily explains that the quote's true meaning is different for each person depending on how it connects to his or her life, which is part of why she finds it to be such a wonderful quote.
When asked what piece of advice she would have youth always remember, she said, "Sincerity is key! If you're saying something nice, you'd better mean it!"
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

She can stand in front of a crowd and share an intelligent and very helpful idea! She is confident enough and will grow as she continues. shame on you.
