Boy George doesn't get the credit for his voice...I adore him
Are you sure about that? I disagree.
it’s not even really subjective. He objectively has a fantastic voice, even if his music isn’t your cup of tea
This was my husband’s song to me,he was a big weller fan,it was one of his favourites,he passed away last year very suddenly but this song brings me back good memories, after 40 years together it takes me back to a special place in time ❤️
Great story Marie ❤
Awww,God bless Marie x
@@jamesgarvie3973 thank you 🙏🏻
@@bloodmoon1956 thank you 🙏🏻
What a song. Your husband had great taste. May his memory be a blessing.
My song to
My darling wife at her funeral I couldn’t express my feelings for her as this song did
RIP A xx
Very sorry ❤
Am sorry for your loss ❤
God bless❤
😢😢😢😢😢❤
❤️❤️ sorry bud
The first time my wife stayed over at mine, when I got up in the morning to make her a cup of tea & I played the original version over and over again on my CD player, I think she thought I was mad, but this song just makes think about my wife, the first day we met and still today
Me too. Same in my life
@@chrisball8023 what , you played this to Phils missus ?
@@kevinmassey7675
@@kevinmassey7675 😂👌🏼😆Sorry. Not laughin'. It's a lovely story. But classic comment hahaha
I think that's lovely x
40 something years on and these two icons are still smashing it. Respect. 🤘
40 years!! Jesus I’m old!!
Is it 40 years. How lucky are we to have grown up with this.
I was in Swoon in Stafford, stood maybe 5 foot away from him mixing and singing live to Generations Of Love. A proper, never ever forgotten memory that I’m grateful to have in my head❤
Two of the greatest voices of our time. Both got voices of absolute velvet
Simply awesome,I was a jam fan ,and a culture club fan.Like a good wine they have both aged and matured and are a perfect duo .
Well done to you both.
So utterly unbelievable sounding, it is beyond words. One of the most majestic Style Council songs... done justice by another incredible genius. Boy George's voice on this is sublime and the BBC orchestra sends it into the stratosphere. Just wow!
Absolutely true❗️
Emozionante nella sua totale bellezza!!!eleganza pura!!!
Both Paul and Georges voices have aged beautifully love this song Brilliant
To be called a favorite singer by Paul Weller is praise enough, they would win the eurovision song contest without even appearing or singing, England 1M points
The one girl I fell hopelessly in love with bought me this single; and signed it with "You're the best thing that ever happened to me." I miss her and I miss those days. I still have the record today. Bittersweet memories.
How is it possible that Paul Weller hasn't sung this song since 1985? Great to hear it, and personally I thought both Paul and George sounded fantastic.
George sounds better here than he did in his heydays
I like Boy George, but honestly he sounds awful now.
Such a shame Boy George ruined this beautiful song!
It’s not actually true, I’ve seen Paul live 15 times and he has sung it live at least twice when I’ve seen him, I think Paul slipped up and actually meant to say that he wrote it in 1984
@@magdafinnegan7824 Yes, Boy George sounds really awful. Paul Weller still sounds great.
Who could ever tire of Paul Weller and Boy George 😀
Me. Years ago.
The person Boy George tied up & held hostage tired of him very quickly.
@@speedy692 what I was thinking whilst reading the comment.
@@speedy692 , ha ha class, pissing ma sell
😊
Mr Wellers poetry still as beautiful as ever
This song was playing as my youngest daughter was born. Sums up how I feel about my beautiful girls and late husband. Beautiful song
❤
❤❤
❤️
@@BOBBY-FRANKY and to you too 🥰
❤️
Reading comments, some say Welles is underrated, I say nay, he is grossly under appreciated. An ever influential artist, spanning multiple decades, a virtuoso across musical genres. The catalogue of Weller will stand the years ahead and more.
Paul Weller wonderful!! What a beautiful song!!😅
Two of the many legends from my era, the best time to be a teenager. THANK YOU FOR THE BEST MEMORIES XX
I second that 👌
Isnt this the best thing that ever happened to those of us who care about great music..🇨🇦
I go back to the late 60s & early 70s but I know what ya mean 🕊️
I was in my 20s but youre right, what a time for music.
definitely...a song from a better time...I wish we could go back in time...
I was and still am a huge Style Council fan. Love this.
❤
I'm rediscovering The Style Council. Paul was a brilliant songwriter. So many great tracks, too many to list. What a delight
This is incredible, the orchestra adds that extra dimension to an already great song.
Yes, it gives this impression right from the first note. I also like a lot their voices too.
It's bloody awful.
I love a good string section, but actually it's overblown here and I'd rather hear Paul and George.
Real music not boy band bollocks
The music is much too loud for the singers voices
Omg, Boy George! Your voice 😮 I can’t stop playing this…
Boy George has been a great singer from the word go and Paul’s contribution to music by an individual is almost unmatched to this day , great version👍
Voices age and deepen and grow with life experience. Paul Weller, who never had a particularly smooth voice, doesn't sound so different but Boy George, who sounded like Smokey Robinson as a younger man, has developed a wonderfully soulful timbre.
He’s developed a timbre. I’m not sure I’d say “wonderfully”. He sounds bloody awful.
@@C4thMusic757 yes!!😅😅😅
Dylan,awww,I’ve always loved Paul’s voice.
Probably too much booze n smoke. He’s obviously not looked after his voice. I m the same age and still sound the same. Careful, see.
@@C4thMusic757 Well, he's got a bit of a Chris Rea sound now, for what that's worth...
when a song touches your soul...you know it is just perfect
Two of the best of British 80s sounds 👌
Thanks for Paul Weller Boy George and the BBC Orchestra ❤
How beautiful. Boy George looks as if he is on cloud nine and has conquered all his past demons. This is his new high. Beats drugs and alcohol.
I think both of them and the whole orchestra look like they’re on cloud 9. 👍❤️
Only realising now these two dudes are friends makes me so happy. Pure music.
Pure class. . Does something to the soul... beautiful..
I loved Boy then, and oh my goodness, has he grown up! He sounds very different from his 1st albums. What a lovely arrangement.
Perfect arrangement. The vocals really complimented each other. And nice quiet audience too. Not screaming.
There sadly wasn't an audience (although one was planned) due to Covid. Restrictions meant that they could get the orchestra, sound guys amd cameras in but that was it so it became the intimate performance you see here.
Marvellous ending by the orchestra and the sax...
Loved Paul Weller and the Style Council back in the day...always reminds me of my brother he was a mad fan then! Good music doesn't age.
Pure British Class and Brilliance on every level
When I think my elder brother was down the pits and through the miners strike, Paul Wellers lyrics in Shout to the top, really hit the mark. X
@Paul Weller If this is actually Paul Weller replying 2 my post.... I'll eat my hat! Shout 2 the top is first class ...also love the duet with Mr Gallagher, but especially walls coming tumbling down. Reminds me of the poll tax riots... brought MRS Thatcher down. Brilliant. Just goes 2 show... United we can change things. All the strikes going on now...think u should re release walls come tumbling down. 😊. X
Oh yeah. Look what happened 2 the Berlin wall...as someone said...u don't have take this crap, u don't have sit back and relax. 😊. X
@Paul Weller I have been a fan of Paul Weller since about early '80 s. My brother introduced me 2 The Jam. We used 2 play them really loud....to annoy our father. 😎. I think Paul Weller is the best singer/songwriter of my time. All of the bands and his solo career, he just smashed it.
I watched Paul Weller, Jules Holland and Amy Winehouse. Brilliant.
@Paul Weller Yes.
Mr Weller music genius never disappoints me brilliant 🎵🎵👍
Hello my beautiful great fans Thanks for your love and support God bless you now an always Thank you so much I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music you can write me in the Hangout app with my email BoyGeorge990@gmail.com

Also what a underrated talent Paul Weller
He's rated perfectly fine thanks. Anyone that thinks differently lives under a rock.
underrated? the "modfather" are you havin a laff?
Not understand in my book total legend
Bit of a silly comment. He’s widely considered to be one of the greatest talents of the last 50 years. For the Jam alone
@@henrysmith883 he's fairly unknown in USA, their loss I guess
paul weller and boy george legends
One of the many epic tracks written by Mr Weller. His songbook oozes quality.
Great pairing and great arrangement
This song is just immense but I take the original over this all day🙏🙏🙏
Took me back to the 80s❤
No words possible, Weller is a fukin' Legend, what A song!
Boy George is a great singer he's got such an unusual voice I've always enjoyed his music
RIP to the best friend I EVER had, and THE best Dad. Sadly taken from us at 58yo.😢🌈🌠. Weller was the go to guy he listened to and loved. This is just beautiful and sucha fitting song from two fabulous musicians. I shall listen to it always. A timeless piece🎶🎙🎵🎹🎸🎷🎺
❤️
What a great orchestra to bring this gem to us Thanks Paul and George 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Love the full orchestra
Unbelievably spooky, absolutely brilliant..at my age of 60 these two musicians have been in my (our) lives for forty years about's, i am so glad to have had the pleasure to find this beautiful song ....sang by two of the best ...
Saw Paul Weller in concert in April 2022, Absolutely Class! Boy George complements him brilliantly on this song. they are without a doubt 2 of the best voices on the planet today.
I saw him in Edinburgh early 90’s. We hired a bus from Glasgow and it didn’t come back for us🤣. Near froze to death but amazing concert.
Yes, it's one of Weller's very best songs! There's been a mutual respect and admiration between these two great artists for decades...
Love this song, love George and Paul too!
This is class....Paul George backing singers musicians....band....pure class
The sax at the end of this is the best part, sublime.
Im 62 still magic 😍😍😍
Both icons of the 80s
This was my and my late husband song to each other. Great to hear it again after many years. The words mean so much to me and took me back to our early life together.
Boy George's voice is even better now, what a beautiful version of this song
paul weller and boy george on the same stage wow doesnt get better than that still both sound amazing xx
I love how great their voices sound now. Very natural. 💕
So incredibly blessed to have grown up at the same time as these two!
Que hermoso espectaculo,BoyGeorge exelente, admiro su elegancia y sigue siendo bello😘😘😘😘
Absolutely wonderful. Completely live. The voices not perfect but that’s what live should be - raw and not artificially enhanced
I'll be more honest than you.
They're not as good as they were.
You just can’t beat totally live, no digital enhancements, for emotional chills.
This is so emotional. A reminiscence of the carefree 80s in a time, when the end of the world as we knew it seems near. Somehow like the last concert of the Titanic's musicians. And a reminder for the things, which are really meaningful: Love, peace, and the people, who you care about, and who care about you. Thanks a lot!
sadly, many thought nukes would take us all out in the 80s. the Cold War fear was pervasive.
There's always something to fear. Once you let go of that and look forward free, it all drifts away beautifully.
Wow this is beautiful 👌
Marvellous concert. We have the chance to see it in streaming and this moment was the best for me. A pleasure to heard Mr Boy George again with Paul.
This is one of those songs than transports me back to where I was during its time of release, love the Style Council love Paul, one of my favourite songs.
I could listen to George all the time. He is the most amazing thing......
Yeah do not ever go away.

Sensational voices, boy george & his chap, unfortunately I don’t know his name & Paul weller, no one eating the microphones so you can hear all the voices really well!

Hi Susie 💐💐
Icons from my youth ❤ got old with them 😂 great times !
Just a music genius like Paul Weller could write a song like this! 🎼🎶❣️🎸
My husband and l separated after many years of marriage but for me this phenom still holds true…no bitterness in parting..just keep the good times close and give one another credit for being the best we could be..🇨🇦

Another beautiful memory
Goosebumps! What a wonderful way to earn a living ❤️🎶
5 vocalists made that performance epic!
Great song, probably one of my favourites from the 80s. Loved the Sax solo in the original.
Great song great artists and what perfect band behind them just flawless.
