Just the most happy memories ever. Cool band and great song. Sadly time doesn't stand still and 40 year's ago we all have the love and memories of such a happy day. A day l would have back in a heartbeat. Love to you all ❤
Couldn’t get enough of Style Council growing up in New Zealand when I was young. Had to wait patiently for radio stations to play any of their music. The joy now of being able to sit back and listen at my own leisure is just absolutely blissful. Will never ever tire of his amazing voice.
Beautiful bor,just beautiful💛💚👍.
I think that's Dee Cee Lee on backing vocals.they got married and divorced. She did a ducking beautiful song called "see the day" where she's walking through a deserted Trafalgar square.it's very moving imo!
I was there 😀
Lucky you
I hate you!! 😂👍🏼
Wow, you are so lucky. That’s just amazing. Wish I could have been there with you. 💝✌️
Wow lucky you
Wonderful! I 've watched Live Aid on television all day, it was just great, I felt so lucky to see all the bands !!
Paul Weller always the best singer of 80s🙏👍💪❤️
90s 200s so on & so on
@@Smiffy830👍👍👏👏🏴🏴
You must be forgetting Mark Hollis.
and the Seventies as member of The Jam!
The coolest man alive. 😎
What a day that was. Was there with a woman I loved very much and this moment was magical. It pretty soon all fell apart but I kind of think if we had met much later in life love might have been kinder to us. Still, its a wonderful song and I always think of her when I hear this.
That's a lovely comment. Shame everything has good and bad involved.
Most underrated band ever just love them
The abrupt key change from A major to F” major is beautiful and way ahead of its time, and the transition back to A major is smooth and seamless. Such a great bit of writing.
Love this song. Eternally, one of the GREATEST EVER written, and sung, by this young man, in his day. Sincere Aloha and God bless on the journey ahead.
✨️ 💖 I agree.
Weller , probably the only performer from that day at Wembley that's not a caricature of himself still in 2022 .
What does this mean by caricature of themselves? Are you saying that every other performer that day is a caricature of themselves in 2023? A bit harsh, makes little sense...😂
@oldwight6703 it was meant to mean that the other acts that day are now on their 100th greatest hits tour or playing the 80s weekenders at Butlins ....Not many out there on tour promoting albums of new material as serious artists 👍
@kevinmassey7675 I went to Billy Ocean live here in Australia a month ago. Sure, he does a lot of retro festivals too. But he did play two songs off his 2020 album and they sounded great. It's not Mr Ocean's fault that all marketing and the pleb "entitlement" generations focus instead on junk music produced on autocue.
@oldwight6703 Much respect to Billy Ocean , a fine voice and some brilliant songs .....but when I posted about "performers on that day," I meant the performers at Live Aid and specifically, at Wembley....
@@kevinmassey7675 Billy Ocean performed 2 songs at Live Aid, right before Ozzie and his band
Oh Yeah ! I still love this all these years later.
THE BEST, THE BEST SHOW ALL OF TIME! LIVE AID 1985 !!!
Good looking guy
Great band from the 80,s.
My fave band from the 80s 😍
One of the gorgeous lead singers in the 70’s-80’s.
YESSS
What a day that was! Just leaving school, joining college.... Watched this live! Loved it then and now. Those good old days.....
4:05 love that yell... great performance, great summer vibe for a classic 80s song. Insane this was left off the DVD release.
maybe that is what the announcement could be about a new expanded DVD/Blu-Ray with full sets by every artist now that we are getting restored footage on this site of songs not included on the original DVD release
I was not shocked when this was not on the DVD release. IMHO, Paul's lyrics, which focused on political injustices, fair sharing of wealth & his fervent dislike of Thatcher, Reagan & the establishment, contributed to less than enthusiastic opinions within record companies & mainstream media in the USA & UK. Consequently, The Style Council never got the recognition & audience it deserved, which - in turn - meant that it would likely be a lower priority when the bean counters & marketing experts made decisons regarding the DVD release.
@@aburrows2008 fingers crossed that you're on the mark with that!
@@derekbaker3279 That would make sense if it weren't for the case that most members of the media shared all those same opinions.
Oh!... How I adore Paul Weller an the Style Council. Brings me to tears with this soulful song. This is my wedding song.
Me too! We divorced, but he is my absolute best friend always and forever 🫶🏼
I remember this; I just finished high school, came home from working my summer job at Howard Johnson’s. Caught the last bits of the concert. Such a beautiful collaboration for a worthy cause. Still love the music of the 80s. Style Council was one of my favourites. ♥️
What last bits did you see?
This is absolutely beyond fantastic!! I love this band! They were just waaaaayyyy!!!!, ahead of their time. Listen to those beats, those arrangements and just the sheer energy of this band!! Be it, slow groove, chamber groove or just a regular pop funk groove this band could carry over now and sound as relevant ( even more so today) than most of this music today!!
I am serious and direct in saying this too! This band has a sound that just lasts through time!!
Just incredible!!
Paul Weller! Fucking incredible

I’m from across the pond and am a massive fan. I honestly don’t know many that ever mentions them.

Would have been nothing with out Paul Weller.
メチャクチャカッコイイ❗️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Super 🤩🎯🇬🇧✌️
For me, this live version is much better than the studio version 😀
Pure soul
It was a cool day to be alive. All the show lacked was Leif Garrett.
With hindsight... so much celebrity posturing on the day. But this and Elvis Costello still shine.
🌟Hi!! Thank you very much for impressive, great sharing!🌾
Such an underrated band, and lead singer is SUPER CUTE!
Adore the Style Council❤️❤️❤️
Paul Weller and Dee Cee Lee were just so cool and talented
Gorgeous...
❤ beautiful song
Truly phenomenal! ❤
The Godfather of Britpop. We werent really aware those days what we were witnessing.
I remember watching LiveAid on tv when living in Luton
Im an 88 year old Titanic Survivor, and I’m proud to say I was there. I attended in black face, in tribute to my favourite performer of the day, Sade. This was before political correctness went mad. Thanks
You can't be an 88 year old Titanic Survivor in 2023 🙄
I’m a 62 year old survivor of the Crimean War of 1853.
Se tem uma coisa que sinto falta de não ter vivido foi isso no momento em que estava acontecendo 😢
Timeless classic
Saw them at Glastonbury 2 weeks prior to the live aid gig. They were class.
This is my favourite Live Aid performance
Loved everything Style council. Years later we get to see Paul Weller when he tours in the states. Steve White looks 15 here but he joined Weller around 17 I think
Wow, me hubiera. Gustado estar allí, que buena voz y muy guapo!!!
I remember those days....
Foxton and Buckler probably watched this at the pub thinking that should be The Jam up there.
This is what i want
Che estate pazzesca, 1985 .... meravigliso anche il loro concerto.

I was here
Tellement bien! Un groupe génial que je prends plaisir à écouter more ans more🌟

Is that DC Lee on backing vocals? She is really talented vocalist.
Yes it is!
Feels like yesterday that we were there
Thanks
I am so jealous best thing ever!!!🌏💫
They look like 12 year olds in retrospect but they were as good as anybody else that day.
