Gunspinning in Movies

- Some years ago during my studies I made this video for one of my elective subjects. The task was to make a video for the chosen stereotype in moves. I chose gunspinning!
Shots are used from the following movies: Day of Anger (1967), Silverado (1985), Trinity Is Still My Name (1971), The War Wagon (1967), Django (1966), Shanghai Noon (2000), Vera Cruz (1954), Shane (1952), The Good The Bad And The Ugly (1966), Sukiyaki Western Django (2007),Tombstone (1993), The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), My Name Is Nobody (1973), Maverick (1994), Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957), Blazing Saddles (1974), The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009), Grindhouse: Planet Terror (2007), Johnny Guitar (1954), Manitou's Shoe (2001), Robocop (1987), They Call Me Trinity (1970), Cat Ballou (1965), The Dead Pool (1988).
Song used in this video is Elvis Presley - A Little Less Conversation (JXL Radio Edit Remix). I don't own the rights to this song. All the rights belong to the owner of the song and I'm not profiting by publishing. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
"Ocelots are proud creatures"
"Twelve shots, this time I've got twelve shots!"
Draw!
MYYYRWEAAAWWRRRR
Six shots, enough to kill anything that moves...
You´re pretty good
Only five if you carry the cowboy load ... or else you risk to amputate your toes ...
"This is the greatest handgun ever made, the Colt Single Action Army. Though the engraving gives an ordinary man no tactical advantage whatsoever. One can twist their elbow to absorb the recoil. That is more of a revolver technique. Six bullets, more than enough to kill anything that moves. I'll show you why they call me.. Revolver. Just what I expected from the man with the same code as the Boss. It's been a long time since I had such a good fight, but I'm just getting warmed up. "
"Special Operations FOX-HOUND... Revolver Ocelot."
except cats!...they have nine lives!...Probably why they invented the LeMat Revolver.
Its really satisfying when they spin it into their holster
An uncle told me that the reason why people did that was to show that knew how to handle a gun
it feels real good when the first time you pull it off smooth
yea I can but not as smooth as these folks
@@kennethlindahl9206 keep on practicing! Surely you’ll get it down! The advantage of being in film is you can practice and if you fail on camera, DO IT AGAIN! 😂
It’s just timing…so more practice 🤷♂️
Hey, some of them are pretty good...
Ocelots are proud creatures they prefer to hunt alone
@@ComfortaHomes M E O W
@@ComfortaHomes On one hand I wholeheartedly agree, mainly because you're not cut out for an automatic in the first place.
But that was some fancy shooting, you're pretty good.
And the engraving gives you no tactical advantage what so ev... fuck I got carried away again, what I really mean is, that's not technically a movie.
:)
Hey, you’re pretty good.
*pretty good*
This video is underrated in my opinion, deserves more attention
Two of my favorite things. Westerns and Elvis Presley.
I'll give you credits for including Johnny Ringo and Doc Holliday
Right, but I miss the Doc whiskey pot spinning .
Johnny Ringo: The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill, they say.
@@eduardoaleman2773it has it in the video
It wasn't the video I was looking for but it made me happy so...
You forgot Jango Fett
@Leo Peridot jango fett counts on the fact that he's badass
@Leo Peridot that's what happens when Jango plays mando
What about RoboCop? he's the master Guntwirler.
@@usamazahid3882 robocop was in it twice
@@chombokong2632 oh yeah. You're right, I was hoping that Revolver Ocelot should've been there.
PRETTY GOOD!
1:38 to 1:48 me when I got my first two revolvers.
You kinda have to. It's like, the law
Eastwood flipped that 44 Mag like a tin toy, what a boss.
Pretty good but Tornado Yoshida the motion capture guy for Ocelot’s gun spinning is the best
Robocop was my idol for a couple of years when I was younger
Pretty good role model
"I revolve revolvers." -- Revolver "Revolver Ocelot" Ocelot. (Revolver Ocelot)
That was some fancy spinning.
Here’s an awesome idea:
Gun-spinning in Video games
KidColt_1945
Half of the video is just Metal Gear Solid 3 cutscenes
@@palpaul9723 The whole saga.
@@palpaul9723 and Red Dead Revolver level intros 😂
The devil may cry saga.
Some idle animations from warframe.
You can spin it in Red Dead Online
Loved every minute of it. Music paired very nicely.
2:01 This guy has balls doing that with a semi-auto.
You know what's missing in this clip?
"I have two guns,....one for each of you."
Really love this, 👍 great job,& thank you.😅😊
1:17 #DocHolliday
Movie- TOMBSTONE
Happy doc's cup made the list
i swear to god Robocop is a western. it's not about justice of the law, it's about justice through revenge. murphy's gun spinning combined with the very clearly western inspired soundtrack and the character riding off into the sunset at the end.
And so was Star Trek without the western soundtrack
@@ccgrider1014 yeah roddenberry literally wrote it to be like a western. the phasers were essentially 6 shooters. the enterprise was like a local town. the klingons were a very thinly veiled allegory for native americans (though given roddenberrys devout takes against racism that likely was unintentional)
It's also amazing that all of their high tech goodies did not keep them out of fist fights
Burt Lancaster there in "Vera Cruz," at 0.34, I think that is the best one as the outcome...well it is profound...won't say why in case anyone out there hasn't seen that movie!!!
thank you for this great video!!
Who knew Costner could actually spin
I love Terence Hill's inclusion in this video
Engravings give you no tactical advantages
Michael Beign and Terrance Hill are the best in this video. Hill is especially important because he trained himself. Val Kilmer was fast but he doesn't really do gun tricks.. But all these guys learned well whether self taught or otherwise.
Burt lancaster in vera cruz, guiluano gemma and Lee Van cleef, shane, Clint Eastwood, Terrance hill in my name is nobody...
Got the Officer Murphy first spin in- excellent. Needs the Robo Cop Murphy in as well.
Ya know, seeing how cool it is for actors and actresses starring in wild west flicks perform their awesome gunspinning and gunslinging techniques makes me actually want to get a BB revolver pistol and practice how much of my wild west ancestral blood I got in me. I'm tellin' y'all, wild west movies are probably one of my favorite film genres ever.
Miss Sammy davis jr on bonanza with gun twirling.
"ah Johnny Ringo looks like someone just all over your grave"
You forgot the cutscene from The Twin Snakes

Johnny dingo in tombstone had the best
I'm glad you included the riverboat scene from Maverick, but maybe you should have only done western movies
When elvis said come on baby im tired talking a girl came up🥵🥵
If you do this, remember that if the gun is loaded, you are breaking pretty much every safety rule at once, big chance of accidental firing and shooting someone else or yourself, but at least it looks cool.
With old guns, it is safer, but still dangerous.
The vast majority of these clips are using single action revolvers. There is quite literally no danger of accidentally shooting yourself with one of those
@@khaaaaaaaaaannn People love to talk about how safe single actions are until you actually put that safety to the test
@@torpid5092 if you don't cock it, it is physically impossible for it to fire. If you cock it before spinning it then that's your issue, not an issue with the firearm. What you're suggesting is akin to assembling an AR15 without the firing pin and then trying to tell me it can still shoot someone.
@@khaaaaaaaaaannn No I agree with you brodie, I think gunspinning is sick and single actions are totally safe. Im saying some people are just overly afraid of guns.
Who is that @ 0:57 ?
buford "Mad Dog" Tannen in back to the futur 3
Should of added Sammy Davis jr
Do u guys know a movie where there was also a gun spin but i think the enemy's was zombies

@@giftfromgodpostcardministr6547 It's "They call me Trinity" or "My name is still Trinity" I am not sure. It's a good italian comedy-like Spaghetti Western with 2 famous italian actors as protagonists.
What's the movie at 0:10 ?
Silverado
Are these inactive "replica" guns" built like real ones or are they made for Hollywood "trick guns" with hidden "spinners", attachments to the hand, camera takes, editing, etc. to make it look real or do these actors spend the practise time necessary to do "real" spinning tricks for movies?
I have a .45 peacemaker and to learn how to do this spinning isn't something you learn in just a few hours, it takes a lot of practise and fumbling. I fumbled the gun in the middle of a spin and when I dropped it the hammer struck my shin and drew blood. Now I practise facing a couch so if I drop it it's caught by the couch and doesn't hit the floor (or my shins).
Michael Biehn spent roughly two months learning the bit where he and Val Kilmer meet in the saloon. Those moves were all his.
Haha always wanted to see jackie chan try his hand at gun spinning..not his thing but he's a guy that's determined to get things right is good with his hand coordination. Pretty sure he'd learn a little something cool
No True Grit, Stagecoach, Terminator 2? Good video though
