When joe was still playing , there was a survey taken from among the best defensive players in all of football , and they wanted to know who they hated to play against the most or what quarterback they were most intimidated by . It was overwhelming , Joe Namath !!! Thank you Joe , for the thrills you gave football fans all over this country , including me !!!! I wasn't really a big football fan until I saw you dismantle the best defensive football team of the day in the superbowl in 1969!!! After that game , i was hooked and followed joe's career to the end . I never learned about joe's many injury related problems starting back when he was still in college until after he retired . Joe's statistics would have been much greater if he hadn't been hampered by so many physical limitations from injuries!! The game was very different then , and I don't think there are fair comparisons made between the past quarterbacks and todays!!!!
