One thing that drives me nuts about Game of Thrones is that it's ALREADY hard to keep track of all the characters and then they keep recasting people with actors who look NOTHING alike (Dario, the Three Eyed Raven). I totally didn't even realize the Mountain was in season 2 because he looked and acted so different. For season 4, I appreciate that the new guy is huge but he's WAY younger than before (actor was like 21), which felt very odd given that he's supposed to be The Hound's OLDER brother (and the Hound actor is in his 40s).

Everybody cries about the second actor, actually he is a very good actor. He just helped out playing the role of Gregor, for example he is also the actor of the giant Wun Wun or of a White Walker, he worked in many roles and did a very good job at it.
He's actually my favourite of the three. Id rather they just used camera trickery or didn't bother portraying his hugeness from the books. Someone who can portray his violence and cruelty>someone huge

The mountain is taller than Robert, in terms of muscle and strength they might be evenly matched. In technique i think Robert is ahead with his training at a young age. But the deal-breaker is the weapon. A bastard sword wont do much against an armored knight. But a blow from Robert with his warhammer to the head will rattle you.

With his warhammer, he would have better odds than with a greatsword, bit considering the length, weight, width, and size of the wielder, it's fair to say Gregor could easily rattle someone in a full harness. My bets on Robert with his warhammer, but Gregor wouldn't be easy by any metric, especially given that Gregor, despite being dim, is a pretty good fighter using strength alone.
I think the second actor came in during the time at Harrenhal. maybe it's the same we see at the tournament. Have to agree though. At Harrenhal at least he didn't look impressive
The Sallet type helmet used by Sir Hugh was not equipped with a bevor (medieval neck guard), which would've protected his neck, and would've saved him. But I guess pride before the fall, not to mention the Mountain is a sadistic psycho just like Joffrey.

The scene where Gregor cut off his horse's head reminds me of the quest in Witcher 3 - blood and wines, Geralt chases a black horse, at the end of the chase he battle with hounds and found a knight of the black horse. The knight said he got angry because he lost the duel so he cut off his horse's head.

Looking at these comments about all the actors and trying to find the right mountain. The first mountain, he was good in body shape and appearance but for only acting as a side character and only for two episodes for the first season, I can see why he gave up that role to play as Bolg in the Hobbit movies. The second one, he had the face, voice and height (7 ft 1) but didn't have the body shape. However, I think I can see that he was only a 'quick find new actor". I think they only cared if he had the height and the face, for the time being. But then moved on to playing other characters wearing costumes as that's more his thing as he was known for playing the predators in both AVP (alien vs predator). And the third one, he had everything, body, face, voice though he is the shortest out of them all being under 7ft. I think the directors ignore the height and focused on appearance this time which was for the best as he is after all the strongest man in the world. Why not play as the strongest (in strength) in Game of Thrones?

Gregor Clegane's resurrection is much better done than Jon Snow's. It took much more time, so it feels like resurrecting someone is very hard to do, which is good. I think they only cared if he had the height and the face, for the time being. But then moved on to playing other characters wearing costumes as that's more his thing as he was known for playing the predators in both AVP (alien vs predator).
And the third one, he had everything, body, face, voice though he is the shortest out of them all being under 7ft. I think the directors ignore the height and focused on appearance this time which was for the best as he is after all the strongest man in the world. Why not play as the strongest (in strength) in Game of Thrones?

Gregor Clegane's resurrection is much better done than Jon Snow's. It took much more time, so it feels like resurrecting someone is very hard to do, which is good. Because if resurrecting someone is easy (as Melisandre showed), death is meaningless. Also it came with a cost: He became alive as a mute zombie.
