Very helpful and concise!
Altra shoes have been a game changer for me . I have severe structural problems with my feet along with a really wide foot. The lone peaks are amazing they fit perfect and the zero drop have been so helpful
Great video! I loved the Lone Peak 6s. Glad they kept the rock place. New follower here. Crow✌️
Great review! I loved my last three pairs of Lone Peak's. Pulling the trigger to get the latest. I'm sure I'll love them. (I wish I'd bought extra series 6 right before they phased out of my size everywhere.. Will I learn for next time before the 7's go out? time will tell! )
The LP6 has been my favorite LP so far. I’ll try the LP7 at some point.
Sierra has lone peak 6 for 49:99 I ordered 4 pairs
@@debvoltolina6143 omg they do. Too bad I already bought a few extra pairs. I bought the LP7 on Monday. Anxious to try it
@@josephsantangelo2801 I got 4 2 for me and 2 for hubby

How do you like the LP 7?
@@debvoltolina6143 I prefer the LP6 over the 7, no doubt. I feel that the heel cup on the 7 got a little narrow vs the 6 and the mid-sole seems stiffer on the 7 as well. It’s not terrible but I definitely prefer the 6.
I’m intrigued by the design change to outsole the drainage hole removal bugs me I’ve ran in the lone peak 4.5,5 and 6 and the 6 was the best version in my opinion I think the 7 should of had the upper of the 6 and outsole of the king MT altra needs to bring back the king MT
king mt is not road friendly tho? not even suitable on a lot of trails. but why no vibram mg after all these years on the lp is the real question. the oly is the high stacker, this is the low stacker, having a lower stack doesn't offset stability lost from no vibram or equiv subsituting tacky rubber
Also fit of the king was massively different. Barely fit my feet in the same size as the LP.
I am still looking for a great trail shoe (Think, Appalachian Trail) in a size 11, not water proof (hot), and mens boot.
solid review m8. but have you actually tried them on wet is the real question i guess we all want to ask. the timp4 was aweful even on pavement like what pavement doesn't get wet from time to time, i mean hotels, airports, jeez..,day use shoe? how did people use this model in the past decade ??. first time lp potential buyer btw. also yes but why no egomax or egopro on "the best popular model" is kinda meh
Have them, its like 30% better than the old rubber if I had to guess. Not Vibram megagrip, but a bit better.
I do wonder with these zero drop yet cushioned shoes: will the foam in the heel compress more over time than in the forefoot section? If made from the same material it definetly will due to higher impact when heel striking /hiking? Isnt that then giving you kind of a negative drop, basically making the shoe unwearable?
I think you’ve made a good point, especially for people over 155 lbs.
You are correct. It absolutely does. I'm 6'6" and 220 pounds.
I've been using Olympuses for a few years. Around 2-300km, the heel compresses and the shoe becomes way, way less comfortable. Lonepeaks aren't as soft, or have as tall of a stack, so they are better in that regard. But they don't have Vibram outsole and slip and slide all over the place on wet, hard surfaces.
Honestly... I need Altras with the upper of Olympus, the stiffness of Lone Peaks, and outsole from Vibram.
@@Arrynek01 Sounds like you should try Topo then..
@@nordfresse I had a pair of Topos and they crapped faster than any Altra.
@@barondavis5692 Really..? When was that? I think they have improved quality over the years.
What about the weight with and without the rockplate?
It’s in the middle of the midsole so I’m not sure. You can’t remove it
Can I use them also for going to the gym?
Not ideal but it’s better than most running shoes
What on earth are Altra doing? Each year the models gets narrower (and the" wide" version is not wider, just higher volume upper), more cushion, higher stack etc. and now they're adding a plastic counter to the heel?! What's next, heel to toe drop? VF Corporation already sell North Face trail shoes so why dilute Altra brand?
By the time they get done constantly changing things for no reason, they'll cost $180 and be just like every other shoe. I'll keep scouring the web for my LP3s.
I just picked up a pair last week on sale for $78
@@pdvision2194 To be honest, I just don't find myself trail running so much these days, and my 6yo pair is still hanging around as more of a really comfortable general shoe.
I still think eBay will be my first option when the time comes, though. There are 5 pairs in my size right now from %35=$50. 😬
The colorways are horrible.
Same with the Torins. No idea why they make them so ugly on purpose.
@@richtaggett8844 For sure, its across the board. Altra has so much potential and they're using pastel colors and color highlighting seams which creates clown shoes. They need a new design director.
Colors are indeed too loud and tacky.
Purchased the the blue ones in near-new condition for 50% off. Only way I was able to stomach the ugly color scheme.
It’s a trail shoe, who cares
Been wearing altras since probably 2013. these colors are way better than they used to be! I remember having a pair of black, yellow, red and blue shoes🤦🏾♂️
Just a specs reading… not a real experience.
how many miles do these last this time?
Why why Why have they turned them into cartoon shoes. UGLEY!!!
