    I hope Stroll goes to WEC and flourishes there, he’s a talented driver he’s just being left behind by a team that’s now asking more than he can consistently deliver.
    There’s too much opportunity in the driver market to keep Stroll and not miss out on someone better and more exciting. And if there’s push to get Tsnuoda in, the line up just can’t be Stroll Tsnuoda without a lot of confidence being lost.
    Personally I hope Alonso says “drop Stroll to show me that you are committed to winning, and I’ll stay” because the other staff and sponsors should be doing that too.

  • @rayokko
    @rayokko Před 3 měsíci +7

    It would be great for Stroll. F1 drivers that haven't achieved anything in F1, like Hulkenberg or Hartley (because of the cars, talent's there), have won 24 hours of Le Mans and that IS a BIG achievement, besides driving the most hyped WEC car in years which is that astonishing Valkyrie made by Adrian Newey... it would be the rightest move for Stroll and that will enable Aston Martin, if Alonso stays for 2025, to compete for P4 and P3 in the WCC. Last year with Tsunoda for example, they would've beat McLaren comfortably and wouldn't have finished very far from Mercedes and Ferrari.
    Although, I feel like the right move for Alonso is going to Mercedes. It would be a mediatic explosion, the hype would be incredible and for the first time in a decade one of the GOATs' reunited with a TOP TIER team taking the seat of his second biggest rival ever, Hamilton. Everyone would love to see that because everyone have to love Alonso if they love racing.
    But as Toto said, Plan A is Antonelli, Plan B is Alonso. I feel like for Antonelli to step up right to Mercedes he should finish at worst P3 on the WDC not too far from the champion and of course, leave good feelings (overtakes, pace etc). But I don't think it would happen, I feel more like we will see Antonelli on Williams next year (Sargeant gone) and it will depend on the AMR24 and W15 respective performances and near, mid future plans.
    That's how I feel about it as a huge Alonso fan and country hero.
    Can't being more hyped about a Alonso-Russell, Hamilton-Leclerc, Norris-Piastri and Verstappen-Whoever takes Checo's seat fighting in the very same tenth.

    Everyone is saying that Stroll would be better in WEC. And I agree.
    F1 is too high stress and demanding for him, whereas something like WEC which focuses more on the endurance factor would probably be better suited to him and his driving style.

  • @gabrieldias3479
    @gabrieldias3479 Před 3 měsíci

    Two things:
    1) I think the bottleneck for Alonso in Mercedes is that Merc, most likely, will offer Alonso 1 year contract with 1 possible extension. And he'll most likely want at least 2+1.
    Not only that, if he gets the 1+1, he knows he'll be only placeholding a seat for Antonelli.
    Alonso, Alpine and Piastri, anyone? Do you think Alonso will want to go through that again?
    (unless, of course, Russell is the one leaving the team...)
    2) Yuki can be a very good SECOND driver. He's definitely not a leader. He can't be Aston Martin's #1 driver.
    Besides, he's already declared that he's a huge Alonso fan and I would love to see both racing together. I'm sure Yuki would improve a lot having Alonso as a "senpai".
    Bonus comment:
    Everyone remembers how much annoyed Alonso finished the last season. He went from "What a lovely car" to nearly saying "GP2 car". But it doesn't take much of an effort to notice that Mike Krack also started to sound very frustrated by the end of the season.
    That is to say that if papa Stroll doesn't make some internal changes, he may lose not only his top driver, but some top staff members as well.

This idea allows Kimi exposure to a competitive car in the best team out side the top four to gain the invaluable experience he needs. Alonso, mean while, is an established and proven great who can fight for a title immediately until Kimi is more ready to do so. Go on Matt, admit it. My idea is genius!! As far as the Yucky swear guy goes, it's a logical assumption based on history but not a guarantee. No team will want both its drivers to be ones in F1 for reasons other than merit. I think if I'm Alonso, I look at how good the Mercedes is this year and decide if I want to go piss off Lewis a bit by taking his seat after he leaves for Ferrari. TBH, Lance Stroll has been an overrated Driver since 2021, he forced Sebastian Vettel to retire early, forced names such as (Stoffel Vandoorne, Niko Hülkenberg, and Felipe Drugovich) to not join the team because of his father, and last but not least because of his continuous idiotic mistakes, we as F1 Fans haven't even seen a solo (Aston Martin Story) in Drive to Survive, because clearly his Father forbid Netflix to record them, because of how terrible the team has been, caused by Lance Stroll. He's also the source for 50% of the decline of popularity in F1, for 5 years now!!!

      Sainz to Audi (Sauber/Stake/Kick/TheGreenMachine) is a better fit and gives him the chance to be the lead driver at a works team.

      @@NhinJaa if Alonso leaves Aston for Mercedes opening up his Aston Martin seat, it could be a very attractive seat for Carlos. The team is well resourced and competitive. And he would be team leader. Audi would be a great project but it could be years before they are competitive.

      @@teamredgutz399 I'm not disagreeing with you. But Aston Martin is still a customer team. Audi would be a works team, and is therefore, theoretically, more prestigious. And he would essentially be getting in on the ground floor of a new works team.

    Everyone knows Stroll is the most undeserving seat holder in f1. He should be out of the sport years before. Daddy Stroll is clearly not thinking right. When money talks junior Stroll walks. Simple maths.
