i bought the fullsize duty model. I really like it. needs to be broken in but right out of the box i got 2 in groups easy at 20 yards. i just wish that ruger would sell me the competition barrel or any other pars like sig does for their weapons systems.
I fired my Ruger American for the first time this weekend, and the trigger pull was outstanding. Hardly any effort, unlike that of my S&W. I'd like to own a Glock too. However, if I have to replace parts to get it close to the Ruger, I'd rather stick with the Ruger.
Both are outstanding firearms. Can't go wrong with either. Nice to be able to have both. I have both Rugers, full size & compact. I put the flat base plate on 12 round mag. I get full 3 finger grip & conceals a bit better than G19 size. 1 of my adult children chose American Compact as edc. Capacity goes to Glock though. But that Ruger, it is a shooter. I don't carry a 9mm often at all, but when I do it has been the American Compact. Good perspective.
I'll take the Ruger while Glock is a very good gun no doubt with a good track record it is not 1990 today in my opinion there are many better options in 2019 than Glock at a better price point with out sacrificing anything to me Glock is over rated and over priced but they have the best aftermarket support for accessories holsters and so on
I agree it will hard to find a non reliable striker fire pistol nowadays. They may be out there but everyone I have are reliable. My Sigma is 20 years old and it still goes bang!!
@@TheShootersBay well ill be honest i own a gen 5 glock 19 mos. But i dont knock other brands buy what you like. The ruger won this battle but i would much rather own glock.
Like the videos. I would of liked to see the Glock against the Canick. Canick is such a underrated gun. The trigger, and all that comes with it out the box and the Price!!
@@MRPB54 its not without it's issues, they are sending me a new 12 round mag, because after being loaded for 3 days it would no longer lock the slide back. I am getting ready to do a video on it soon. I see them now on Buds for 269, and it's well worth that.
@@HamiltonOutdoors that doesnt sound bad at all I had a SCCY that did that after 4 mags in warranty i just sold it XD. My current EDC is a taurus G3 has run without issues but lack of sights and how taurus is with warranty times makes me wanna go ruger.
Another bonus for the American is that’s it’s an American company, made in America 🇺🇸 Also I heard the American can take reloads/lead I think it’s a pretty gun-especially the cerakote version. I think I’d rather have the.45 ACP version over the 9mm though
I love them both. Reliability really goes to the Glock because of the proven track record. Ruger American has had a couple of recalls in its first couple of years.
Great comparison, but I’m shocked you found the glock trigger to be better than the ruger. To me, the factory trigger on glocks is a big weakness and the the American has one of the better out of the box triggers out there. Not quite like a PPQ or Steyr, but it’s very respectable.
I have a ruger AC and i love it. The only thing that I like about glock better is the mags. I just think those steel mags are ugly. But the gun itself is better looking. Nice vid btw!
Great video & review! Unfortunately my Ruger jams up a lot, everything from stove pipe, fail to eject, to double feed and it absolutely broke my heart. Glock is kind of ugly but it works every time. Too bad I hope everyone is having better luck with their Ruger.
Bill Veder contact Ruger about that. To my knowledge I’ve never had any issues with ammo. Try 124 grain 9mm, your spring might be very tight and needs to break in. Failure to eject sounds like extraction pin issue. Definitely need to call Ruger about this one. Irritates me when people just throw in the towel when you have warranty for it.
Then send it in to Ruger they will give you a new gun.......that or ur trolling. Let me know cause Ruger is the best when it comes to issues. Had a problem with mine changing the sights they sent me a new slide 2 sets of sights and 3 mags.
Good job I have the full and the compact Ruger America pistols I wanted to like the glocks but for some reason I can’t shoot them without a trigger job and New sites so it just does not justify buying a Glock when I have to spend money to get it to the point where I can shoot it accurately glocks are good But!! I have a Glock 40 10mm that I spent $500 to make it where I can shoot it accurately but I will not give that gun up
I own the American full size 9mm. I love it. It’s beautiful. But for me Nothing looks better than a Glock. They are just simple clean lines and the shape of a Glock is number 1 for me. Both these Guns are extremely accurate.
Thanks I updated the point system for round 2 check it out. The glock would still loose because it would only give the glock 5 more points. Thanks for watching see you in round 3 today.
It’s wonderful to live in America and enjoy so many wonderful options to choose from. I love America!
I absolutely love my American Compact. Runs flawless and I think it's a beautiful looking handgun.

The Ruger compact actually has a much better trigger than the Glock...one of the best sticker fire triggers on the market

Thanks for the review. I was picking between these two.

Hi Point 9mm is the best out of all.
Glocks had a couple of recalls too tho, for the recoil spring then they had the kaboom issue in 2016 so it's a tie.

Max capacity. No discussion of max capacity?
Your point system is solid & makes good sense. You might add capacity in there. In this case, Glock would edge out Ruger.
