First review of the Kansbol I’ve seen with the proper range of applications that knife is intended for. Very well done.
8:57 cutting towards your hand made me cringe a little.
When cutting anything like food always curls those finger tips in and show the blade your knuckles (2nd joint) or you'll be picking up your finger tips
Thank you for the historical perspective. In our time, we are inundated with knife choices. I really like the 2000 and like the Kansbol even mora!! I find mora's easy to sharpen and maintain in the field. Awesome fire pit. In the mountains of the southwest, we can not be too careful with fire.
Thank you! I think you're the only reviewer who pointed out that the sheath is also good for us left handed people.
Subscribed.
Just bought one a couple weeks ago because of their track record and this review. As you can imagine I was not disappointed. Great review and thanks!
Gonna admit that fish cleaning was hard to watch. If you anchor that floating thumb in the gill, you'll have better control and less likely to fillet your thumb, had me worried there. 😳 nice review, another good vid.
living in the desert, im not much of a fisherman, so i was a bit rusty, but ill be more careful next time i head up to the lake.
@@JunkyardFox glad to hear it.lol. Have fun and stay safe.
@@haleskiss I cut the spine behind the head first to make sure they are dead/ don't feel anything and put my finger right on the spine to hold it. I also cut the head off by slicing behind fins and gills and pull out all the guts with the head..
I own many knives and the kansbol has become my favorite!
i have been thinking of getting this knife for a while, thanks for the review it helped make me feel a lot better with the decision to buy it.
Garberg definitely!! Still making awesome videos!! Keep up the good work
I've actually come to love this knife. It works great for a multitude of tasks!
How did I miss this for two weeks? Great video. I totally agree. Kansbol is an awesome knife.
hahaha hope you enjoyed the video, brother!
keep up the great work! can't wait to see the next knife review!
Another great video james, keep them coming our way!
So glad to see U doing worthwhile vids. This is more the kind of vids I like to see.

My vote is for the LT!! Keep it up man!!
Awesome video as usual. You have a very defined and unique style which to me stands out more so than most. Keep up the awesome work, man!
i appreciate the kind words, my friend! gald you enjoy our work!
Love the knife review vids keep them up .. Also the bushcraft and field tests. Thanks
Finally, someone using this knife in the right way. Not trying to chop a tree down and beating it with a rock, then calling it crap. Good job, thanks for the review.
Great vid as always, just ordered my kansbol and hidden woodsmen haversack both based on your reviews. Please do all of your viewers a favor and keep up the great work because it is always guaranteed to be great content when i get a notification that you uploaded.
oh man, that is one aweseom setup, youre gonna love them! thanks for watching, be sure to check out our other awesome vids!
Hidden woodsman haversack Is that the video name?
Always enjoy your videos. Very Informative and to the point.
Thank you for sharing . I learn a lot from your content .your a great man
Very cool review! Love the practical application.
Great vid....Mora have come a long way I remember there best knife use to be the clipper (back in the day)..
Thanks for the vid it was awesome! I can't wait to clean a trout now. As for the knife I pick it really doesn't matter because I've seen so many reviews on them both. Both great knives.
I'm glad that I got to watch your Kansbol review since I'm getting one for Christmas. Great review! I also just watched the Garberg review and it was great also. Glad that I found your FB page and youtube.
👍🏼almost to 20k keep up the great work, great job as always
I have tested my Mora Kansbol with utmost delight. Razor sharp and tough enough for an apocalyptic sensation. Absolutely wonderful. My thanks to Mora.
As always, awesome video bro!! Love trout!! :)
I don't own one yet although I do own a lot of Mora's. I do have the Mora light my fire which is a smaller version of that blade with a ferro rod in the handle. Great for backpacking!
I love your real world tests. Fantastic.
Glad you like them! be sure to check out our knife review playlist czcams.com/play/PL_jSMueMy8etsY1HbaCMRCNENsVdYpic3.html
Nice one, James. I've been eyeing this Mora for a while now but have just too many knives right now. Keep up the great work, brother!
thanks jude! dude this knife is a scalpel! i mean, this is the perfect budget knife.
Another great vid James. This knife is on my to get list...
i have been watching your videos lately and i must say your one of the better youtubers on youtube im so happy i stubmled upon your channel keep up the great work👍
thanks for watching, be sure to check out our other awesome vids.
Ah dude your making me really hungry at 5am lol. Fantastic video and I’ve learnt some serious stuff from this. I’m gonna sub you bro.
Great video, great knife. Just got my Kansbol today and sharpened it in my favourite shallow scandivex grind with my wet stones finishing with leather strop. It holds sharp edge better, and glide easier when it comes to feather sticking, de boning games, and dressing fishes. It also baton better because of less drag and friction.
I have a suggestion. Whenever batoning put your stick on a wood board or some trunk, lumber, or timber. It prevents unwanted hitting of blade to some stone.
nice! yeah i usually have a small flat log as a base for batoning but i couldnt find one during the filming of this video
Nice video and review! Good knife seems to perform all tests great.
thanks for watching, be sure to check out our other awesome vids.
Never thought i finished your 15 minute review which i doubt in the first place. I almost never seen a review above 10 mnt or without fast forward. Doesnt seem to get enough of this video. Top review compare to others, simple english easier for non native english speaker to understand..very good and useful demo i can say i have a thorough knowledge of the knife to make up my mind and purchase the knife
im glad it was helpful!
Nice knife. Another one for my wish list. Thank you for the video
Hello James, thanks for another cool video, looking forward to the next! I vote for Garberg.
Another great review, keep it up
Awesome video as always!!
my vote is for the JX3
I was going to get a srk but I've decided on this knife, thank you for the true and honest review of this blade.
Great video/review. I will now be looking at this knife for my kit.
Maybe Steven should get the new knife 😉
i gave it back :( but i got my new kansbol today, love this thing!
Thanks Junkyard fox. Great as always! I still have the Mora Bushcraft force which is now discontinued but very similar specs to the Kansbol. 2.5mm width seems to be the sweet spot for lateral strength, splitting kindling, whittling etc. but still enjoyable to use for food prep. I also love how the 12c27 holds its edge when stored for long periods wheras carbon steel tends to dull when i store it due to micro rusting of the edge. Yes in a perfect world id wipe and oil it always, but sometimes it just slips my mind. The 12c27 blade always stays nice and shiny. :-)The Kansbol looks like a great knife i would buy it in an instant but I cant yet part with my trusty Mora Force! The Garberg looks like a beast but my prediction is that the Kansbol will outperform it in whittling and food prep but probably falling short when splitting wood. All one has to ask is what are you most likely to use your outdoor blade for? I prefer the lightweight versatility of the Kansbol.
i completely agree, i own both the garberg and kansbol. i prefer the kansbol, i prefer its thin blade, since i dot a lot of game processing. outside of knife reviews, i never have to baton.
Ok, that is the best knife review possible. That is what 98% of the people will be using this type of knife for in 90% of the cases. Including me. Ordering my kansbol now. Thank you.
to this day, this is my favorite knife, you cant beat it!
@@JunkyardFox wow, thank you for coming back with this info! I am so happy to read that, especially four years after you actually made this review.
Excellent video James. Still loving the tunes. I think I will upgrade my basic Mora for this one. Great fishing knife.
although all moras a re great, this blade is a scalpel! and its super affordable too! amzn.to/2stxk69
I own a few Moras and I love them all, but I recently got a Kansbol and it is quickly becoming my favorite. It's one of my sharpest knives and it is by far the most versatile, I can't believe all the things it can do. It is the most well balanced knife I own so far and it is such a joy to use it. Only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the fake leather belt loop... I really dislike fake leather, but I'll give a chance and see how it holds up. That being said, the Kansbol deserves A LOT more recognition and it is one of the best knives I have used in my life so far. For the price? You can't get any better.
Great review as always. The Kansbol is really cool. I vote for the Garberg :-)
I’m waiting for mine to arrive through the post. I’ve got the companion and the faskars X7 hatchet 🪓 as well as all the bugging out gear I’ve been amassing since lockdown. Got get ready.
A very nice review of the Mora knife...also some good skills...a Happy New Year to you...
glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching!
Great vid! Much better than the usual table top crap that dominates CZcams. Keep em coming. +1 for the garberg.
thanks so much for watching! we try very hard to make adventurous, in-depth gear reviews. be sure to check out our knife reviews playlist!
Yay 20k love your videos you inspired me to be a CZcamsr keep it going
thanks for watching, im glad i can help, little brother! thanks for watching, be sure to check out our other awesome vids.
Junkyard Fox no problem
Great video brother!
Another good one as usual!
glad you enjoyed it!
When I first saw the kansbol, I really was skeptical. I am now thoughtful. Thanks.
at first it looks kida boring, the typical mora, but after using it, its become my favorite. this thing is a scalpel.
great vid very thorough review
Just to update, I’ve had my Kansbol for a over a month now and absolutely adore it. My knife collection consists of Companion and HD companion. Garberg Carbon and the Kansbol and the Eldris and I purchased for £11 the Mora wood carving basic which is the sharpest blade I’ve ever brushed my thumb against 😬 lol. The only knife I have that isn’t a Mora is the USA 🇺🇸 made Gerber Strong Arm 💪 which is the best ball aces blade I’ve ever held in my hand and such a beast. I really love your channel and always puts a smile on my face when I get notification of new vids.
glad its proven to be a worthy addition!
@@JunkyardFox I was shocked at how light it was at first.
Great Video Brother! Just found your channel great stuff! Ive been a mora companion guy for years, just started playing around with the Kansobol, it is a joy to use.
Best regards
Bcb
dude im a huge fan of your channel! ive been watching it since like '12! oh the kansbol is my favorite knife of all time at this point.
Hey Brother! That is so awesome! Thank you so much for the kind words.. You have very well thought out and concise videos.. You have an ease in front of the camera that is just plain cool,, You are def. my favorite knife reviewer! Great channel from a righteous Dude!
Regards,
BCB
Your becoming one of my favorite youtubers especially living in AZ you're vids are a great help
i appreciate that very much, my friend!
@@JunkyardFox I miss AZ
😭
nice tool, and the food was surely delicious (I grew up fishing and preparing trout) hmmm I can smell that barbecue
Great vid James
addicted to your content bro
My favourite Mora is the 2000 and a Kansbol is all the things that needed improving on the 2000. If I ever bought another Mora it would be a Kansbol. Got tired of the plastic sheaths, they seem to misshape and not hold the knives at awkward times, will be interested to see if the multi mounts keep their shape past 2 years.
dude, i just bought one thanks, man!
dude i just got mine today! this thing is a scalpel!
Brilliant how you show actual use and teach other bushcraft skills while you do it. Your reviews are top notch on a low budget. That's talent. CN on iTunes yet?
thanks so much! not on itunes yet, only bandcamp, ill be sure to tell him though.
You do a great job with your reviews. I appreciate how you always show the equipment doing different tasks that are expected. So practical and well thought out. Anyone who watches a review that is less than 6 months worth of testing and is not in the field is worthless. Plus, I learn alot from your technique. Thanks man!
Speaking of technique, I wonder if the stainless blade sparks so well because you are good with the ferro rod, or the knife really can throw a spark well...Just a question.
Finally, reive that L.T. Wright...always like their knives, but can't afford it. Is it worth it?
Great work James!
thanks so much for the kind words! its actaully the spine on the knife is so sharp that it spits sparks like crazy. the type of steel doesnt matter, as long as its jageed to scratch the rod, you can even strike a ferro rod with a broken piece of glass or rock.
Unusual that I'm watching this video while I'm filming myself cooking 🍳 scalloped potatoes 🥔 earlier. Now I wish I had a nice fat German Trout.
Yummy trout! Great video man!
nothing better than some freshly caught fish on a campfire!
great vid keep it up
Cool Video 👍
Thank U for the Info and the Links 👍
Also thank U for showing how to prepare a trout👍
Young man, I really enjoyed the words that you used, such as processed as far as food preparation and the uses of this knife. Thank you for your presentation. Remember this, did you make a enough food for every one?;) LOL!
another great video made me hungry. go for the sharp knife next. LOL I love my kansbol. jx3 or the garberg both great so either one is good.
Hi James. I hope to see both knives reviewed so get to it. small relevance, there's lots of garberg review's , but I like your review's. . LTW then mora. thanks again for everything you do.
thanks for watching , i appreciate the input!
Awesome video as always man, love the wood and food processing, I'd love to see how the garberg compares to the kansbol
it seems like the garberg is our next review. already planning some cool testing ideas.
Junkyard Fox awesome! Looking forward to it!
Great video. Would realy like to see you review the JX3. Greeting from Belgium!
greetings my friend, thanks for watching
Hello James! Always a great video & it always makes me hungry! Thanks!! My vote for the next knife review is the JX3 . Also let us know when more Bandannas are available. Thanks Brother !
im thinking of the next batch of bandanas will be around august, probably in dark blue.
Thanks James !!
the mora's are great knife's for the money
worth every cent imho

steve
Nice channel you got Sir, best regards from Sweden.
James do the Garberg!!! love ur videos keep dking great content. by the way, the Jose Cuervo Sound track is awesome love it!!!
im working on a cool garberg video, jsut brainstorming some cool testing ideas.
Spent my lunch hour relaxing at the office and enjoying this great video and review...for just a bit of time...I was not in Kansas any more. Review JTX
glad you enjoyed it!
@@JunkyardFox Would you prefer the Kansbol over the Garberg?
Bob McGarry yes. The garberg is great, but for my lifestyle, the Kansbol is better, I do less woodcraft, hard use, and more kitchen prep, fish fileting, game processing, the Kansbol is the better choice.
Great review I have a compainion hd and it's great for wood but that's really all it's good for
try the kansbol, it is great for damn near everything. in fact, im planning to make a long term review on it, just because i still use it daily to this day
Mora also makes the bush craft forest it’s handle is just like the bush craft black but the blade is stainless steel and modeled like the Cannes ball I think you’ll really like it
Nice review. I'd like to see your take on the other Mroakniv!
cool. thanks for the input. thanks for watching.
your channel is taking off! like 9k subs in a month.
udude for reals, thsi channel is skyrocketing!
How do you sharpen this Kansbol, James? Do you keep a secondary edge on it?
Thankyou for this video appreciated much 😊
You are so welcome!
Dang - every time you do a review of a Mora knife I end up buying it! Have to say they're great knives
moras are superb blades lol this one is damn perfect!
Ok I just ordered it using the link - hopefully you'll get a little something from it too. Have you ever tried the Opinel knives?
Good review, you should review the eldris mora mini next bro.
A++ NICE VIDEO! TEAM MORA ALL THE WAY!!!😎
James,
The reviews are not bad, but if it's not too much to ask, would you be able to upload more videos of you doing different things in the wilderness like you used to do? I believe doing so would help the audience get a better feel of what the equipment can do while at the same time you demonstrate the level of skills needed for "X" task.
okay, i have some reviews that i gotta taek care of this coming month then when i catch up, i wanna get back to the basics. thanks for watching.
Good video Junk yard fox....I enjoy ur videos..👍....
I hope you can review the Terava Jaakaripuukko next!!!
another great video. I'd like to see the jx3 next.
thanks for the input! thanks for watching, be sure to check out our other awesome vids.
I got two of them .1227stainless steel. Very good fine blade 90degspine to .like that .
The price of the Kansbol (updated Mora 2000) is one of the best parts of this knife.
$32 USD with plastic sheath / $46 with molle multi-mount system.
My vote goes for the Garberg
GREAT vid !!
Nice review, James. Thanks. I vote JX3. There's plenty of reviews on the Garberg already out there.
Say Heah James. Even though I have a Mora 2000, and it would match well with my Fox Parang Bushcraft Jungle Knife. I still just use it in my Lite Mora Trio with my Mora Hatchet and Bacho Laplander. I initially got the 3V Master Hunter to team with it. But it matched alot better with my Fox Jungle Parabg which is a little similar with some suttle differences and color. Anyhow, I did ordered my Mora Kansbil which is comming later today. I ordered the O.D. Green Kansbol and the Green Eldris for at least a nice color match with my first Fox Bushcraft Parabg which also cones in an O.D. Green and attachments. Yeah, I always like the oerfirnance of my Nora 2000 which has the same blade as the Kabsbol, For me, I now have two very good combos. I also ordered the Mora Garberg which I plan to team it with my Bokor Aparro. That makes three nice sets.,,.p
Outstanding video as always James! The JX-3 review would be more interesting to me.
will have a video on that badboy pretty soon!
Sweet!
thank you this was very helpful
