I first glance, I was sure that the front part on Kansbol, was still a scandi edge just thined out a lot. I was wrong, I got the precision calipers and mesured the spine thickness and the thickness behind the edge and it was thinner behind the edge. Not by much, but enough to be considered a full flat grind in the front part of the blade. 12C27 and all Sandvik steels like 14C28n and 13c26 (same as AEB-L) all are high quality budget steels.Better than any other at that price range. Moraknivv heat treatments are spot on too.
As for the sheaths, that a lot of people hate them or don't respect them, with a piece of hair rubber (those which are round, hard and strong and have cloth on their outer part) those can transform them to the best sheaths for use. They are the only sheaths, where you can sheath and unsheath the knife, whithout having to clean the blade every single time. Now, go out there, live in the mountain or any part of the nature and you see why those sheaths are the best! You can't collect wilde edibles and mushrooms, whith another knife, becasue you have to put the knife back and pull it out the sheath, without having to clean it every 1 or 2 minutes, because if you start collecting food, that's how regular, you put the knife dirty in the sheath!!!
As for their handles, I don't think I have to say more...they are spot on, for any of their knives and it's built purpose. Morakniv can't be beat!

@greekveteran2715 Spot on with everything you say, I have owned this knife for a long time and it's fantastic. I use a knife for it's intended purpose, accompanied with a saw and an axe, when spending time in the outdoors I find this knife is a perfect companion, it's a great skinner, excellent for food prep and equally as good for making feather sticks. I love the fact it's stainless, far less time messing about making sure you are keeping it dry, easy to clean and easy to sharpen. Mora are masters of the heat treatment, they've had enough practice.
I do love my Garberg too, both live in my main pack along with my manly patriot which lives inside my skinning pouch.

@@TheDavewatts Manly Patriot is my most used knife the last 6 years! After 3-4 sharpening sessions, that D2 becomes a great performer! Knife still looks so good for 6 years of abuse! I also use it for collecting wild edibles while hiking. PS They now make it in RLW 34 and I'm itching to order one, but the one I own still looks almost as good as new. Even though I've sharpened it a lot, the high wear resistance of the D2 steel, hasn't made the blade look shorter. Once I accidentaly dropped it on the floor tip down and I was sure the fine tip would be broken, however it took zero damage! Another great user knife, for either utility, hunting, hiking or even around house, it's good as a parring knife for food prep too!

@@TheDavewatts I own TRC Mille Cuori, Lionsteel M4,many custom knives at higher level yet, I only use the Manly Patriot, sometimes my Moras and Victorinox, not because they are cheaper, but because they are way more practical My hand reaches for those knives all the time! Keep em sharp and have fun my friend!!

  • @quinntheeskimooutdoors6234

Excellent demo of the capabilities of this knife. I have one of these and I love it. I used it for my spoon making and it was fine. I used it in the woods also. I have not tried it for food yet. Thanks for showing us. Take care.
