  • BASKETBALL SAND AGILITY WORKOUT (All levels) - Coach Lyonel Anderson
    This is a sand workout designed as an excellent way to strengthen your feet and improve the mobility in your ankles. Sand training is a great modality for basketball strength and conditioning to perform plyometric exercise with low impact to the joints and body. These exercises are designed to train change of direction, explosiveness and agility.
    The heat of the sand and the heat of outdoor training increases energy used and will also increase the mental toughness of the individuals and the team. You will also have opportunity for teambuilding, and see who does not mind getting dirty on your team.
    Additionally, sand training forces players to pick up their feet, and the unstable surface creates great opportunities to increase proprioception. The increased resistance provided by the sand provides additional challenge to the player.
    Additionally, sand training is fun and different for basketball conditioning. Watch until the very end for our unique team building exercise.
    This basketball strength workout was designed and coached by Coach Lyonel Anderson in Houston, Texas - former Head Strength Coach for the 2015/2016 Big Ten Championship winning Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Basketball team. Use this on your own or with your team as a part of your summer conditioning program.
