  • ANSYS Workbench Tutorial using Explicit Dynamics to model a RC Beam (Reinforced Concrete Beam). Failed elements or cracked and crushed elements are deleted from the model as the analysis is running. Deformation of the Rebar is also shown. This is a high impact test of concrete. I will create a standard beam test video in the future for low speed cracking and crushing of the rc beam in ansys workbench.

    While you input the engineering data, you say that you choose the material from the list of explicit material, because you use explicit solver.

    Dear DrDalyO,
    Many thanks for your helpful tutorials, i did a model from scratch but it is saying that i need almost 300 hrs to solve it with the same configuration you did in here. ive downloaded your model from here and it was 6 minutes only, do you have any idea where did i get it wrong or how to enhance the analysis timings. (BTW I dont have any warning messages)
    Thank you in Advance for your great help

      +Hayder Ali Hi, as i mentioned in the video a few times, the analysis is only for the Explicit Dynamics module. To do a Static Structural analysis of concrete is actually very different unfortunately. It involves using command objects in order to use APDL commands to join the link elements to the concrete which is not as easy. I will post a video on Concrete RC Beam in Static Structural in the future. You could subscribe to my channel, and when the video is out you will get the notification!
      Thanks!

    hi, your video tutorialis helpfull! could you help me, iam modeling rc beam with static structural analysis, but the rebar dont move after solve. just the beam have a displacement,. what is wrong with my model? it will be great if you reply my question. and i'll be waiting you concrete rc beam in static structural tutorial

    • @drdalyo
      @drdalyo  Před 8 lety

      +Laksemana Dewi you have to join the nodes of the link elements with the concrete elements. if not then thats exactly what you will get, the concrete moving but not the beams. Please wait for my RC Beam video on static structural
