    As I was watching her pull that really low chair up to the built in desk I immediately thought "that chair is way too low and doesn't look like it has any lower back support and I can guarantee there will be multiple comments below about it." lol but overall I loved this makeover. Such a great use of the space.

      @jemma50 Před 2 lety +112

      Yeah, agree about the desk chair. I don't thing it's the camera angle, it's way too low to be able to work from it. It looks to me like a bar stool would be a better height for the desk...unfortunately, it wouldn't have the comfort. She could work standing up, maybe. I've heard people like to do that. ;)

    I love how you successfully made the living area (including the beautiful wood from the built-in desk) the focal point of the room. Then when you look at the bedroom area, it has it's own beauty but doesn't overwhelm the space. That is so hard to do in a studio. This is simply beautiful.

    Awesome makeover! I love it as usual. Transforming the hutch as a working area is super cool! However, the chair is just not working for this purpose. The seat is too low compared to the height of the desk top. A good rule of thumb is always having a 90° angle in the elbows and the knees while working at a desk. Margaree is going to be very uncomfortable while working more than a few hours. Apart from this, great job to the whole team!

    • @anacalderon2141
      @anacalderon2141 Před 2 lety +45

      The wall desk has not much available surface. That space is useless for eight-hour working (added to the holder chains and that unsuitable chair). Removing the owner`s table is a mistake. Also the directional change of the bed reduce space, I would have left as it was putting something triangular as headboard. The sofa I think should be convertible.

      Yes a real cute office chair would be better, that raises and lowers. The ergonomics of that situation are bad. Her arms are going to rise up to reach a keyboard on that desk. Also it would be nice to see how much work it is to plug things in that situation. It wouldn't work for me. I think it would be better as a place to store books, or jewelry, or makeup. A cute bar stool and it might have made workable vanity.

It would involve plumbing renovations and such, plus it's a rental so it would require the Landlord/Owner's permission (way more than it does for a little paint job). I can’t be the only one who noticed how ingenue this is, the bed side could have use 2 side tables ( there was space ) , the office desk was painted so nonchalantly I can tell from the TV. I love your channel and I would never post anything that seems like a negative comment but this was too obviously done without any consciousness and it seemed like it was just for content. The design is lovely but I can see paint spilling from that wall desk thing 😵‍💫

    Studio makeovers are my favourite I think because they're the most substantial. A minimalist room is done rather quickly even though it looks really nice but a whole studio has so many different areas and I think that's why they're the most exciting videos for me.
    I am completely in love with what you did in this space, the colours and how airy and still warm it looks.
    The floor and the kitchen counter and the foundation of the room are really nice, I'm a sucker for warm hardwood tones and you did the absolute most with a really good base I feel like.
    Also how sweet is it to surprise your sister with this, Jubilee! That's such an awesome gift!
    Also, I used to live in an apartment where I couldn't stand in the shower because of slanted roof haha

      @DawnDavidson Před 7 měsíci

      I used to have a bathroom that we described as “too small to change your mind in”. 😂 the shower was under the roof slope, so it was definitely tiny. I could stand up in it, but I’m under 5’2”. My 6’5” partner at the time definitely could NOT stand up in it!

    I immediately made two of those mirrors when they first came out. I made them black and distressed them with that matte goldish color (can't remember the name on the tube - I was one of those buffing tubes of stuff - wow, my brain is working great today...). I though It was so easy to replicate, I don't know why anyone would spend that much money on it...for the name associated with it I guess. All of this came out amazing! 😍

    I would have done a small bistro style table with two smaller chairs where the bench is under the window so that she has a space to share a meal with someone and an alternate work area. Havin natural light and a view in front of you for certain kind of work (maybe not computer) is really nice. Aslo agree with other comments about switching the bed direction. It fit perfectly in the nook before whereas now it protrudes into the room. And because of the angle of the wall, it doesn't look like you can sit up in bed now with the new direction.

    I realize that you're sponsored by desenio and it has some nice prints, I agree, but when says they like unique stuff I'd definitely go thrifting instead, which would also definitely be cheaper as well.
    I wonder if the new desk area isn't too high to sit comfortably?
    I like the color palette and some of the furniture but the bed throw, curtains, the bed side table are really generic and I think this space deserves something more unique.

  • @Thamikaroxy
    @Thamikaroxy Před 2 lety +1

    You get an A for your design on a dime endeavors. Not because of space planning, furniture arrangement, or even color scheme. This was a very easy canvas to work with; a large window, cut out for the bed, otherwise square room, interesting natural wood cabinet was a Hail Mary and natural traffic flow made this (almost) a no fail project. But even with all those coveted architectural elements in this space (she paid for in the bathroom), the actual furniture is the biggest challenge in a space like this. There are tons of really cute, stylish, well-made furniture options for really small spaces, but they are almost EXTRAORDINARILY EXPENSIVE. This small space could have easily accommodated a sectional sofa, lounge chair, more appropriate/ergonomic task-to-side chair, an actual coffee table, different lighting options, a console-to-craft/dining table option, and leaving the bed in the nook to prevent disrupting traffic flow, but then we’re talking $10K easy.
