I was hoping the bookshelves went up the wall utilizing all of that air space… either floating shelves or something to give her that beauty and the beast large bookshelf feel.
Love your show. My husband and I are moving from a three bedroom home into a two bedroom apartment. Downsizing doesn't mean I cannot decorate. I've saved many ideas from your shows.
So happy to hear this!!
@@AlexandraGater Kinda feel like you missed the mark on this one. Didn’t look anything close to her INSPO pics ☹️
@@MamaC6100 Well, she apparently was very happy about it, so how was the mark missed exactly?
@@MamaC6100 I respect your opinion, however, it is called an inspiration/mood board. It is not meant to look like everything she shared. The client is happy, she was lit up with happiness and that is all that matters 🙏🏽
Wow!! Gorgeous 😍 I so want to put arches in my house. I have 2 room openings that look like ugly boxes. Team AG has inspired me once again. Happy holidays to all of the team!! ☺️
Looks beautiful, love the arched wallpapered nook, but wished they had gone with taller bookcases on both sides of bed considering her inspiration pictures had library vibes with ladders and mentioned a beauty and the beast moment of floor to ceiling bookshelves. brass sconses attached to sides for bedside lamps.
😊Yes! Two tall Billy bookcases with a bridge built across the top to give that cosy library 📚 impression. 😉Bet clever Graham could've 🔨repeated the arches too. Next, added wall💡sconces to the sides of bookcases for reading while in bed. Also a petite ledge (or cube) mounted on each side to stow your phone📱, a pretty trinket dish for jewelry you'd rather not sleep-in, &/or a glass of water💧.
🥺Seems a tragic waste of potential merchandising space from my perspective〰️but I'm also a🏺collector 🖼 as well as an 📖 avid reader 👀.
💚Bridget from Cali☘️

Any bookworm who likes physical books seeing that pinterest board: Ah, so you'll be buying another Billy or two then and-
The way she had the bookcase on its side clearly indicated she wanted side bookcase. Instead, it was your own mid century interest to add the brown furniture, not her style.
Had the same thought... missed the mark on that one.
You all have to consider the budget. These patrons are paying customers. A designer can only go as far as the budget allows. 😒 the room was totally transformed and renter friendly. Imagine how hard it would be to get larger piece transfixed to one another, broken down, snd ready for transport to another apartment?? I’m jussayin. 😩
Love the space! For a book lover, I think it would've been really cool if those bookcases extended to the ceiling in the design.
I would love to revisit some of these apartments and see how they stood up to the ‘living’ test.
Such a great eye for colour!
I always wonder if they keep it up the same way
Absolutely adore my new space, especially my cozy arched nook (perfect for writing holiday cards)!! Thank you AG!! ❤️🎄
Yes, this is a lovely space!!! That nook is over the top cozy :)...and I love that I'm not the only one who still loves books :).
I like the added coziness of this makeover but I really liked your headboard, side table lamps and sofa better before.
@@aangimueller1241i agree, the before was more living room with a bed tucked away, now it’s more bedroom, albeit a gorgeous one.
@MK-cc5ve I think it matters on the person preference/needs. Like if they don't really have much guest I can see making that space smaller and maximizing the space you use the most.
I bet you do love the nook. It's the only part that's giving the Beauty and the Beast look to me. Definitely wanted elevated shelving and a ladder for your books🫶🏾 (possibly above the closets)
This is a great makeover, but it's a shame you didn't allow her to have full-height bookshelves on either side of the bed. You could have replaced one of the shelves with that same mahogany insert and left enough space open above it to give her a "side table" and then continued with regular book-filled shelves above. Or given her floating shelves above each side table. Librarian's gotta have her books!! (I'm a former librarian, now a book editor, so I get it.)
Graham is a genius , We all need a Graham in our lives, Love Graham.
At first I didn’t like the new headboard compared to the old one.
But I immediately saw how it diminished the presence of the bed in a lovely way. The bed still has its own presence, but it no longer dominates the space, it blends in with the space.
For the first time, I thought this girl ALREADY has a super nice studio. But then Team AG did their magic! It suddenly looks twice as big and super cozy. Well done! Happy Holidays! Luv ya! Bye!
It was nice already but it was still missing something.
I love your show… im just shook that you replaced the cozy comfy headboard for an uncomfortable metal one 😢…
Great job looks beautiful! Here's a tip to match paint color, just remove light switch plate and take a paint sample then reattach light switch plate. No retouch of paint needed.
That arch is awesome, and I adore that Graham repurposed that wood. I hope that recycling becomes a permanent thing, go Team AG! Happy Holidays guys, we love you!!! 💞 🍾🍓
Very beautiful. Love that you used the top of an old and broken mahogany piece and made the tops for the sidetables/bookcases. The wallpapered and arched nook is gorgeous and clever. My only criticism, and it's based on personal preference, is replacing the padded upholstered bed with an iron bed. I read in bed a lot and I bet she does too. From experience I can tell you an upholstered headboard is much much more comfortable to rest against while reading in bed. You still have a tendency to prioritize looks over practically and comfort. Design needs to have both. When you master this principle you will really level up your already good work.
I agree!
I read a lot in bed and have the same ikea bed frame, it’s actually very comfortable with my over size pillows… I use to have a upholstered headboard and it was a pain to clean/ dust I love this one ‘cause I can just wipe it down in a minute no need to hauled out my vacuum 😊
@@heyitsjustme3088 GTK
@@heyitsjustme3088 good point. Personally I would rather maintain the upholstered headboard over for me the cold hard metal frame. Even with pillows I find them uncomfortable. Personal preference. I have a nifty handheld vacuum that I use on the mattress and the headboard once a week as well as the rest of my upholstered furniture. Thank goodness there are so many options for us all. ❤
@@victorialove9104 yes, there is something for everyone out there!!! We just have to work on finding what works best for each one of us. 🤗😘
Good work!
Suggestion: I would’ve used a pop-out TV bracket , so it won’t get lost in the cove while TV is on!
As a wallcovering rep… it thrills my soul to see it installed properly and with an overlap and double cut as well. Be still my heart. 😂
Graham hit it out of the park with the arch and top of the tables. Professional job. Everything looks so good. Great job AG team. Yes, it does take all of you.
I like the makeover but I loved the color story she had and her old furniture much more. Her bed was pretty, the light armchair with the sofa was so good. Also her lamps on that bookcase were awesome. For me it needed only a few bits and pieces, like the archway (very nice), the side tables (great idea with the bookcase), pictures on the wall and some decor. The video would be boring though, I get it.😊 It came out pretty, it's just not my cup of tea but if the client is happy, that's more important. She was so sweet.
Love the AG team but not a fan of this makeover. Liked the room better before. The mustard color chair against the color of the dresser really turns me off, I don't think either go with the room. I like the arched alcove but not the skirted chair.
Yes I do not like the bed. She had a beautiful bed before and now it got replaced by this ugly Ikea bed.. and the skirted chair looks way too bulky and messy.
Agreed! I think she missed the point on this makeover. The bed and lamps aren't cozy. The chair and rug do not fit into the space I heard the lady describe. I hope the lady really did like it.
@@Sunflowers9191 to each their own.. personally i loved the new bed.. her old one was a bit bulky and outdated
I love that you always keep it real with the bloopers and don't pretend everything is always perfect on one take 😂😂😂
While I love the finished look, if she really is a book hoarder... I mean a book enthusiast, there isn't nearly enough book storage
Graham is amazing to watch!
Great way to end your year! The team deserves praise! I know people tend to point out one person who does a lot of the great work, but let’s not for get the team! It takes all of you guys to make a great product, and you do!…oh and I love the laughing fits!
I like her original bed. Looked more comfortable.
But it is a nice room
It’s super pretty. But I loved her former sofa and padded headboard. I hope they find a new home where they’re appreciated.
I've never been so early! It is 8am on the west coast and thanks to my puppy I am up. But I get to watch the new AG video while I have my coffee! 💕
Morning! ❤
It is 17:00 pm her from where l am 😂 Really weird to feel the difference between country where your are in tomorrow but i'am still in today 😂
@@AlexandraGater ❤️
Love the book and the mirror.
I thought you would add tall bookshelves by the bed and add the arch to them for the grand library she hoped for🤔🙋♀️🎄🎄🎄
It's definitely a mistep.
I actually like the low boookshelves. Then they can also be used as bedside tables and it gives the room different heights so the eye travels
Looks very pretty. However I liked the original headboard and sofa. They didn’t need to be replaced. The sideboard looks odd in the sense it doesn’t work well in this space. It’s a nice piece but aesthetically feels like the wrong choice.
The arch is a phenomenal addition! Love the bookshelf bed table idea! Though, adding a back to the shelves would have ensured books and items don't fall through when moved. Also, higher shelves would have allowed for room to grow her book collection (which will likely happen given her love of books!).
This is amazing! I am always surprised at how team AG can turn even the tiniest apartment into a cozy, functional and stylish little oasis.
Thank you for making 2022 so beautiful. I always look forward to my Saturday mornings and your make-overs. And this one, like all your makeovers, is just breathtaking! Happy Holidays to Team AG!
💕💕💕💕💕
I love this makeover! I am probably one of the only people who thinks studio mcgee design is bland but the way your team takes spaces that normal people have and elevate them is fantastic. Can't wait to see more makeovers in 2023!
I agree about Studio Mcgee. They are not my cup of tea - very bland & each home they design looks like dupes of every other they've done. The benefit to to that is a person can use their merch as a blank slate for REAL individuality
Love the arch, and the top of the bookcases Graham repurposed look beautiful. Graham Rocks! I was hoping the bookcases were going to be floor to ceiling on each side of the bed, or the desk would be moved there for more space she asked for on the call. The after bed looks like a 'before' shot. Her style was so good there wasn't much to improve on. I'll take the 'old' stunning headboard!
Thank you. I feel the same. Her original headboard was lovely and this metal monstrosity is not. It won't be comfortable to sit against to read books either.
@@Misskittenfish71 I interpreted her tone in her reaction comment about clutter as being surprised and PLEASED by how much she liked it even though by her (prior?) standards she would have thought it was cluttered. That's the beauty of a makeover. Sometimes you find out you actually like things you never would have considered before!
I totally agree about Seyna having fantastic style to start with! And that arch! Swoon! 😍Even though I love her original cushioned headboard (which would definitely have looked great with tall bookcases on either side), I totally see why bringing in a metal one that's similar to one on her inspiration board made sense, especially given the mirror she also liked and the new black light fixture so the eye travels throughout the space. And having a see-through bed frame and lower shelves allows the blue of her newly painted wall to remain a dominant feature. Given how much the space already had going for it, I actually think they did a great job of incorporating designs she was attracted to and the coziness she specifically mentioned without pushing things too far for a minimalist. And from her delighted comments about it being beautiful and really loving it, I'm guessing she agrees! ; - ) If you look at the before and after of the bedroom, it's actually a pretty major transformation. And the great thing is, if there's anything she decides doesn't like, she can just switch it back (or take it to her school's library). ; - D
@@bellaluce7088 Yeah you might be right, more surprised by the clutter not looking "cluttered". I just know how important it is for some people's actual psyche to not have "things" around around, hopefully not here. Who the heck am I to say anything though? I, personally, am a maximalist bordering hoarder...in a tiny home, I might add! 😆
I feel the same way. Plus the fact that she said "I've always been afraid of CLUTTER" tells me she thinks it's cluttered. I don't know maybe that's just my perception, I could be wrong.
love the arch nook and wall paper
I love everything except for the desk chair. 💕
For this video I love it because you pretty much just worked with what you had. It wasn't a drastic makeover but it was very very attainable and beautiful and showed how you can elevate a space with simply adding some new touches to things you already own and adding in a few new pieces. Gorgeous job team AG!
I would love to hear Graham do his voice overs! He’s such a great addition to the team
I think this makeover was my favorite. I love that she already had a blue accent wall. And you guys made her that arched cove for her TV and desk. It was so pretty!! Her side tables/ bookcase looked so high end with the tops. I loved this series of small condo spaces makeovers! I hope you do more like it next year too!
I could see myself living happily in this space. I’m in love with that mustard colored chair; never thought mustard and blue would go together so well.
Give Graham a raise!
I'm a minimalist and a single mother living in CA. Been working so hard so I can retire at 50 if things keep going well for me. Bought my first condo this month and I can't be more proud than I am right now. I'm so glad I made good decisions about my finances that changed me forever.
Hey, I’m super proud of you. I wish you can take your time to give me a little guide on how to fix my finances. I’m in a mess right now and any tip from you would really go a long way.
Hey sweetie. Apparently, I used the FIRE movement to put my finances in shape. You can research more about it. Then, lnvested in stocks, crypto-currencies and real estates crowdfunding through the assistance of an lnvestment pro I was able to achieve a lot.
That’s really nice, I would make my research like you said. Also, I would love to connect with you financial consultant. Hope you don’t mind?
Ok. His name is Robert Michael. He has been very influential in my financial journey. You can look up for *growingwithrobert* to connect with Robert.
Thanks so much. I wish you all the best and may God keep favouring you. Amen.
Alexandra, I'd love to see you decorate some tiny homes and see your storage/space saving ideas in that venue!
I'd also like to see her decorate R.V. campers or camperized vans. The camper world really needs this type of help.
It is -18C in Edmonton this morning but I'm all cosied up with my tea and Team AG and everything feels all right 🥰
edit: James' homage to That's So Raven fills my 00s disney channel heart
Was so excited when I saw the edit💜💜
I'm also in Edmonton and even had the same thought about that great throwback!! lol
I feel like blue is an underrated colour to use in a space. It gives such a nice, calm feel. I used blue elements in my previous and current bedrooms - I feel like it gives hints of calm and relaxation.
I've had three blue bedrooms, and yes, it's so soothing.
I love the color blue, and that is a beautiful shade of blue. My entire house is done in light blue and cream.
Finally some color!!!!!! And you hit this out of the park too!
The thing I love about the Studio Fix videos is that you have to be so creative with the limited amount of space, but it is still so functional when you are done. I loved this makeover. See you in the new year!
Lovely space - and that arch is so clever. I love how you're showing that there are options that don't *have* to be permanent, but can *look* like they're supposed to be there - so often rental solutions can feel very temporary and ill-fitting but that's a beautiful solution. And she can always have this video for the 'deconstruction' tips if need be :)
Absolutely Agree with this Statement 💘
I’m going to try and do that arch in my house. I’ll have to do 3
Graham is the best! Your makeovers are a hundred times better since he joined the team.
THE most inspiring home makeover channel and THE most effin adorable host. Also love your crew!
I'm in awe of AG's endlessly creative, unerring visual sense and Graham's absolute wizardry with carpentry! 😍 Congratulations to the whole team!
Adore this space! My husband and I have an accent wall just like this in our bedroom, and this has given me a lot of idea's on what styles , textures and accents to add in. Also, love to see the table saved and given another life. Would love to see more of that in 2023!!
Your explanation told us why you always use linen curtains, however, the question was concerning the COLOUR. Linen fabric comes in other colours besides white.
OMG THE EDITING!!!! That’s so raven!
Alexander Gator: All your makeovers really are renter friendly, THANKS!
My favourite makeover of yours yet! Beautiful, cozy and perfect to what she asked for
previous bed was amazing.. you are amazing in that and you have a great team
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍It’s beautiful! 😬lowkey feel she loved it but was kinda expecting the first thing she mentioned during her meeting with Alexandria, the shelves with the latter 😅
You ended the year on a real high note. I love your work in general, and this was especially beautiful.
Lovely job as usual. I would recommend two things regarding the outlet under the desk. I always paint my outlets to make them disappear. (Just use a dry brush and a few coats.) Second, always cut the tags off of any cords. They are unsightly and unneeded. (Who ever reads them? If someone is obsessive about it put them in a ziplock bag, labeled and stored.)
It’s awesome how you considered the client’s needs and repurposed some of her furniture while also really enhancing the space. Such a top job 😎👍
This room makeover is amazing. It was nice before, but the after makes the space look so much larger and cozier. It looks like a room from a trendy boutique hotel where I stayed in Manhattan this year.
You turned this space into a warm, homey place, and one that anyone would be happy to come home to. It is beautiful and so inviting!
Every time I watch a makeover from Team AG, I think thats my favorite. Then, after watching this video, I once again realize that every makeover you guys do will always be a favorite!
The arch...wow what a beautiful transition. I love the mahogany top addition too. Just ooh la la
You never let me down. I am so glad that your show stays true to making decorating, DIYs accessible. I literally have you on my TV list of shows I must watch.
Literally the editing in this video has me crying!!! 😂 Love what all you guys do! You and the whole team are just GREAT!!! 💜
general question: what happens to all the furniture that your clients own but you don't incorporate into their new space? It it thrown away or donated by your team? Or do you store it somewhere so they can take a look afterwards, if they still want to use some stuff in other rooms? How does it work?
Girl you two hooked that bookcase up !
Omg the editing in this one is soo awesome!! 😂❤
The book shelf combo is incredible!!! I love the arch, bed, and the color scheme as well. The bed area looks great.
I am not a fan of the brown dresser and the mustard green chair. They seem out of place and throw off the color scheme. A black dresser would’ve been better or one of the undertones from the rug or painting above the bed for the chair.
Absolutely people do have opinions and the look is fabulous but if the Renter didn't LoVe it Alexander Would Have Changed it !! ...Then it would have been Different, However She did Love it and That's All that Matters and Either Furniture Pieces Looked Great but that Nook, the Rug the ways She integrated the old to the new and that papered work nook are to me a perfect mix with that Arch added in But Thankfully Our Perceptions Aren't the Renters Because those Mood Boards Sent to this Designer Before it's implications are what Alexander Goes By and I Think She's Upgraded The Space and Fulfilled the Renter's Wishes Esthetically Well 💝 Chef's 💋 Kiss...and so much more storage was added 😘🥰
I’d love to see some opulent velvet curtains 😍
The wallpapered desk nook with arch is GLORIOUS!!!!!!!! ❤🤩❤And I love that they gave her a version of the mirror she'd been admiring (perfect spot for it!), plus a carpet that really ties the room together. ; - ) I actually also truly loved Seyna's Before decor so much!! The lovely calm palette and the proportions and layout were beautiful to me, especially the way her white upholstered headboard gave a strong color block contrast to the blue wall yet still looked so soft and inviting; how the sideways bookshelf gave a pop of color while subtly unifying the space with that strong horizontal line; and the eye-candy sculptural effect of her lamps and globe backlit by the window. Just gorgeous! She has an artist's eye and talent as an interior designer herself!!! 🎨❤🖌
I love that the makeover found a way to let her live with the dark-painted bookshelves she'd been admiring (with more functional horizontal shelves! ; - ) while adding a TON of new storage space with the sideboard under the window. Too many makeovers REMOVE storage, which is bananas. Putting all the books by the bed struck me as a bit too intense for a bedroom space when I first saw it (even as a book lover!), but they actually really unify the bedroom and living room spaces, and once you're in bed what you're actually looking at is the gorgeous arch nook with soothing blue wallpaper and calming arch. Fabulous!
Props for a lovely makeover, and I hope Seyna is enjoying her new home!
Love everything in there but that Article piece, which is overpowering. Thanks for these videos -- always enjoy them.
It also looks like it’s blocking ventilation.
Ohhh I haven’t been so early before! Currently 2.48am here in Aus unable to sleep and finally one of my favourite CZcamsrs uploaded 🎉
What a beautiful transformation to this large multi use room.
This makeover genuinely made such a difference - your client will really love living here. LOVE IT!!!
I like the alcove, bedroom part and new sofa, but really dislike the brown storage unit and gold chair, which don't fit the style at all.
I think this is one of my favourite spaces you have ever done! I especially love the bookshelves and all the blue with the brown woodtones ^^
I am such a big fan. I just can’t stop watching how you put everything together so every time I watch I learn something new. 😻
I've been watching AG for over 2 years and this is by far one of my favorite makeovers! Classic & modern; the colors and furnishings look fabulous!
See ya in 2023!!!
Wonderful makeover. It took the potential that already existed and enhanced it greatly. It's elegant but warm and cozy. I learned a lot. One of the things l want to try from the old incarnation is tipping my bookshelves so that l can stack my books. I love the cozy nook and many of the individual items are amazing. It all comes together perfectly.
Good morning Alexandra. My Saturday mornings always start with you, Danie and a cup of coffee. I'm so excited to get my hands on your book!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Me too !!
Wow! I would love to live there for another 5 years
.once again "TEAM AG to the rescue! Happy holidays TEAM AG!!!☃️☃️
Wish you all a happy and prosperous next year. You all put a smile on my lips and ideas in my head. Xx
Nicely done. Her place was cute and tidy before, but you really took it to a chic, liveable, and comfortable space. You can *never* have enough covered/hidden storage in a studio apartment, so nice job with the few extra pieces you added.
Her floors and windows were gorgeous, and the space was very nice, which really helped you guys amp it up in the best way possible.
I’m definitely loving this and I haven’t even seen the result yet. You’re team is always doing amazing ❤
A true sense of harmony! Beautiful!
Loved all the sweaters you wore in this episode. Love the black w/ the white hearts and the “face art” sweater. So cute.
WOW!!! What a STUNNING makeover!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 It looks so rich in the Color Palette!! And that Arch is such a GORGEOUS Statement!!! Well done Team AG!! 🙌. Merry Christmas from Our House to Yours 🏡🎄❄️☃️❄️!!
Love this space. It was pretty to begin with but lacked coziness and was too sterile. Love the blue, so I was glad you were able to work with it, and the wallpaper was perfect. And that arch!!! Love the bed, the sofa, and the rug! A wonderful job, and this beautiful apartment is truly a place Seyna can call home. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to Team AG!
Beautiful makeover. I love the arch, book/sidetables, rug and sofa.
i have never clicked so fast on a video before!! I love the studio ones..AND my favorite designer Studio Mcgee!! I was re watching some of your videos because ive been craving a new makeover lol
Yay! I look forward to new videos so much. This makeover was so awesome, and I love how you guys keep giving these makeovers to teachers after the pandemic.
That arch, and the dusty blue is magic ❤ this is inspiring me to see what I can try with our tiny old apartment. We won’t be here long but I want it to feel like a home while we are here
thank you AG team for the inspo and laughs ❤❤
You always give small spaces big personality 😊❤
I gotta admit that when I saw the beginning sneak peeks of the finished designed and furnished apt I really wasn’t feeling it. But during the final reveal I really loved it. It’s amazing to me how all the disparate elements seem to magically combine to make a very clean, uncluttered, super comfortable studio apt. Another home run!
Watch your channel all the time and always enjoy it but, this is your best room today! So elegant so balanced. Full of rhythm, but maintaining serenity! Well done!
So stunning! Way to go Team AG! I’ve enjoyed your work for going on 3 years now ….wait…has it been almost THREE YEARS?? 🤔 I am constantly inspired and in awe of what magic you do in small spaces, using and repurposing items found or already on hand are some of my favorites. Congratulations on making our world a more beautiful place ❤
The arch is the BEST!! Genius!
The finished nook doesn't look like a nook at all. It pops! It looks like a flat wall. I love it! The sofa, credenza & bookcases are my favorites. I prefer the Before bed.
