Wayne Couzens: Police should 'never have employed' Sarah Everard's killer, says inquiry

  • Wayne Couzens - the man who killed Sarah Everard - should never have been given a job as a police officer - an inquiry has found.
It said multiple police forces "repeatedly failed" to spot warning signs, despite a history of offending going back nearly 20 years.
And it warned that without a radical overhaul of policing practices and culture, there is "nothing to stop another Couzens operating in plain sight".

My citizenship application was delayed by three years , after living here for 18 years as a stateless person, because of a littering fine which deemed me to be not a person of good character. A normal security job at at Tesco’s requires a strict vetting process, including 5 years adress and employment history with no gaps, an enhanced dbs( not only criminal convictions but all sorts of police record, financial soundness, no bad debts, defaults, bankruptcies, ccj etc. it’s beyond belief that police can get away with recruiting someone with a history like that.

People must try to not overreact...
He wasn't a police officer... he was a glorified ornamental pillar.
His job was to stand in front of an embassy and look intimidating.
His interaction with the general public was... zero.
Do you know how tricky it is to find 'normal' yet reliable people,
that will tolerate standing still in the same spot for hours upon hours,
    doing absolutely nothing?

I was a teacher for many years and across the decades recall three different students who passionately wanted to get into the police. One was, I'm certain, a psychopath. The second had a sort of Jim Davidson style 'cheeky chappie' persona that belied a very dishonest and deeply misogynist character. The third one was a girl - she was actually really hard working, emotionally intelligent and resilient, I'm sure she would have made a good police officer. I often wonder if any of the three of them made it into the service.

What drives me potty is the use of the passive tense to avoid responsibility. "Everard should never have been given a job"? Nope. "Police should never have employed Everard"? A small step closer. "Police Human Resources"? You've got to be joking. "Police Recruiters"? Nearly there. "Inspector Bloggs, in charge of Police Recruiting", ah, that's accountability.

failed to notice once but twice 😂😂😂😂failed to notice since the start of police, amount of cover ups and dirty corrupt things they do ans they say some of them are normal and good people no, everyone of them knows what goes on just don’t want the reputation or being exposed themselves, other week a drunk man died in custody of police and they covered it up like they didn’t do it to him, not just me who noticed this or notices the cover ups and corruption of the police and government there’s thousands of ppl who know about the exact situation itself.
