- Alarming new figures reveal that over the past few years hundreds of people have required corrective surgery on the NHS following botched cosmetic surgery abroad. Mum and daughter Jacqui (60) and Tracy (36) thought they were getting a cheap deal when they travelled to Izmir in Turkey for tummy tucks in April, but both suffered serious complications upon returning to the UK. They join us today to warn others about going abroad for surgery, alongside cosmetic surgeon Dr Veerle Rotsaert.

This is what happens when you don't do your research properly and trust social media. Why would you even agree to have surgery not knowing who your surgeon is !!!
I had surgery in Turkey and I'm very pleased with my results but I did my research and chosen my surgeon based on my close friends recommendation.
I'm wondering why they are not talking about how many botched surgery there here in the UK.

I feel ashamed to say this but even though I am a turkish citizen, I would not recommend getting serious surgeries in Turkey because if something goes wrong, the courts will take years and the outcome will be close to nothing. I am not saying that there are reputable doctors in Turkey, All I am saying is that the justice system does not work well.Dont risk your lives for a few thousand pounds or dollars, you will end up spending much more at the end if something goes wrong.

I had the same issue. I got a bbl given to me without asking. I was supposed to have other things done and didn't as they had to stop surgery, and I ended up with 7, seven, blood transfusions. I also took sepsis on the wound and had to get another emergency operation at home to get it cleared. I now have a bad scar and what looks like two tummys. I am still in pain and am still numb in places. Today is the 12th April and my operation was on 18th October. I would advise people to think really long and hard about what they are doing. I thought I had checked everything but it seems I didn't. As for people saying they have no sympathy for those who have went to these lengths, you need to walk a mile in their shoes to understand the depths of the feeling that's going on in my head regarding my body.

Why does this show hide the clinic and name of the doctor, turkey has hundreds of Doctor that educate in the US and UK...Plastic surgery is always a risk regardless where u go even coubtryalso liposuction is always the most risky it seems bad stories will always be amplified, its usually always liposuction and and BBL...was this place even a clinic or hospital? There are clinics also that offer treatment services in the UK and germany?
Plastic surgery in Turkey is cheap but not dirt cheap.Please don't go to "dirt cheap" clinics and research a lot.
After doing these surgeries and shelling out thousands, it looks to me that these ladies do not look any different than before, and certainly do not look better!!

You asked too many procedures done at once, you in crease the risk. You should do only do 1 thing at a time wait then do another.
Always seem to me to have a very high opinion of themselves, donât know about tummy definitely need faces looking at LOL

The message here is loud and clear: Don't go abroad for surgery! You must be MAD to do it given the risks, which are more like inevitable outcomes. Just don't!
