Very few people know that the Reliant was originally and Anton Class...nice work!
Anton Yelchin class. He was the Chekov in latest star trek movies, then died in real life when his SUV ran backwards into him.
I only knew thanks to Memory Beta. Star Trek had an ironically well structured continuity back in the day lol.
Is that canon? FASA had Anton Class were predecessor to Miranda. However, it was never canonized last time i looked it up.
@@Wrangler-fp4ei could be cannon now.
@@PantherAusfD1944 Unless we see it in a show, it's not canon until then. It's how Trek canon works unfortunately. Roddenberry started that crap years ago when he got puffy about the original Star Fleet Manual. It continues in different forms, most written or fan made materials aren't considered canon. Which is a shame.
I like how you started her with the old school nacelles, then had her upgraded to the modern nacelles after the battle with the Romulans.
Good stuff.
Oh the irony of the ship that saves the Reliant from the Romulans is the same one that virtually destroys her.
Returning Shadow imwas thinking the same thing.
Returning Shadow I say that ship needs a class name like the tigress class
@@caseydobbs4550
Yes, and they could give the ships of that class cool and tough names such as the Federation Ship the S.S. Stephanie...
Well done.
I can still remember the 1st time that I saw the Reliant cross onto the big screen. It was love at 1st sight. The Miranda Class is one of my favorite ship designs. Its compact shape fits along with the aesthetic of the Constitution Class, but is still its own.
I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Amazing how it was all because of a mistake, and the design was signed off on upside-down
Originally the Reliant was going to be a Constitution Class but they changed it to Miranda Class so the audience would tell the two ships apart in the dogfight you had be sure which one you were looking at .
None of these designs make any sense? how hard is it to separate a nacelle from the ship in battle! or the saucer from the rest of the ship with that skinny neck? still when it rears up nothing more beautiful
@@pwc7475 As demonstrated in the movie, not having your shields is often death anyway
@@jimskywaker4345 That's the captains fault, to quote Khan we are all friends here :)
Just fantastic. Relient has been and always shall be my favorite ship.
The U.S.S. Reliant has had a history of having too many redshirts aboard, apparently.
The lucky ones die on missions .
The truly damned are harassed at target by Karens
' You clearly work here! You’re wearing a red shirt! ‘
This is fantastic! I love how the Miranda looks TOS style!
That was a fantastic recreation of the Battle of the Mutara Nebula. Brilliant work.
I really feel like this guys reliant - A deserves to be put in a show of its own
These are the stories of the USS Maytag, where no repair man has gone before... nice 3d modeling job!
Create a masterful piece of Star Trek lore....outstanding. Inability to use spell check to spell neutral (Romulan Nutral Zone)….priceless!!!!
Noooo.....you can't run away! From hell's heart I stab at thee!
i like the way the music changes to the movie when the movie part begins
You DO KNOW that ST II TWoK Was basically the re-telling of "Moby Dick" Right?
When Chekov looks at the Books before seeing what's on the belt buck, You SEE a Copy of that book on the book shelf.
AND MANY of the lines Khan Says TO or ABOUT Kirk are DIRECTLY FROM That book as well!
He might paraphrase some of them, but they are almost DIRECT quotes from the book!
1:41 to 3:22 The short skirmish/battle between the USS Reliant Miranda class versus 2 Romulan T'Liss class light warbirds/Romulan Bird's of Prey is awesome.
Majestically done. From one fan to another, thank you!
I love the irony how the enterprise save the Reliant just so years later The reliant attacks Enterprise
I really love this. I love seeing an back story of the USS Reliant. Very well done.
Superb!
Very well done and loved the 1864 - A at the end.Definitely adding this to my faves!
Uss Kira Nariece and a defiant class !
Although the name of the United Federation of Planets starship named for Major Kira the name was misspelled
It should've been spelled "Kira Nerys"
See, and here’s where I’m torn. On the one hand, naming a ship after someone who won’t be born for close to another century as well as putting a ship from more than a century in the future ... this segment is just wrong in every way. *On the other hand,* some very well done work went into this and I don’t want to disrespect that.
@@plancomestogether ..... Yes I was thinking why KN a century before DS9. Bajor has not even been invaded by the cardys yet.
The last Reliant in this scene is a great looking ship, good job.
Outstanding and love the TOS Miranda class rendering... thanks :-)
I love how the sound effects and music fits the era. Also, shout out to the USS Defiant NCC-1764 which would later enter Tholian space, the crew killed each other in a bout of insanity, and was thrown back in time to the Mirror Universe where Commander Archer took it from the Tholians. Good times.
I really loved this film. After seeing the Wrath of Khan dozens of times and memorizing the battle of the Mutara Nebula I was so impressed by your recreation of it. Great work!
I'm pretty sure every Miranda class ship had a fateful ending. Especially all those that were thrown into DS9 battles and instantly destroyed.
People honestly overstate the destruction of the Miranda class in Ds9. I once went back and counted/compared the ships destroyed of the Akira and Excelsior (an equally old class to miranda) and they were almost identical number wise.
@@daefaron people probably care more about the Mirandas.... Those 120 year old ships are still kicking. That or the design was so well made that Starfleet kept building them for that long. Either way... seeing one get blown up or partially vaporized by a single weapon strike is heartbreaking lol.
@@richardched6085 One theory that was once floating around, was that Starfleet made up a ton of replacement parts for Constiution, Constellation and Miranda class spaceframes, in preperation for a war with the Klingons once the Organian Peace treaty was called off...instead, the first Khitomer Accords were signed and the Consitution was phased out in favour of the Excelsior...leaving Utopia Planitia and other drydocks with a looooot of extra parts laying about.
The Miranda had a tough, compact frame and though it lacked a little in the speed department once the Excelsior came on and reset the Warp speed tables, it's design was inherently modular and easy to reconfigure, and it's dual large cargo/shuttlebays added a loooot of potentional for versatility
Soyuz, Lantree, Britain, etc...whatever the fleet needed, it could often fill with a variant on the basic Miranda frame....and spare parts could even eventually go to colonial/mercantile/civilian use afterwards, as the Miranda got on in her years and was pulled back out of the front lines of Federation space, just like the Oberth.
...and Starfleet still had so many parts and mothballs left over still, that when Starfleet took a hit, like in the Cardassian War, the Klingon War, Wolf-359, and the Dominion War, it could easily and in short order, slap together Miranda and her sister classes together in no time flat as a stop gap, until the more sophisticated Akiras, Defiants, Intrepids, Sovereigns, Nebulas, etc. could be put together to replace 'em.
@@sklaWlivE very logical...
@@richardched6085 it’s sort of like the federation version of a Klingon bird of prey. Design stays the same but new technology is added. And is the backbone of the fleet
A masterful and brilliant presentation!
I am well pleased.
You have done much justice to a lady that is often over looked.
Well done! 😀
This was very nicely done, You did a really good job in recreating the shots seen in TWOK.
+Starfleet2360 Thanks!
Very very Nice! Awesome. Thanks so much for the upload.
That was wonderful to watch. I never knew Reliant's previous history. By far my favorite battle from my favorite Star Trek movie.
Gorgeous animation. Don't know why this only just appeared in my recommendations, but I'm glad it did. I really enjoyed it. Shows what a great tool Blender can be in skilled, artistic hands. Poor little Reliant, she had a tough life!
Beautifully done. Thank you, it was good to see her again.
Excellent Video Rob !!!! LOVED IT !!!
Wow! Somebody is having fun! Nice work Robert! Very cool!
This was so good. It shows you put a lot of time and effort into this. Thank you for sharing it with everyone! Love the story line, and definitely the music you used. It really added the beauty of it all. Very well done!
thank you very much
I love your work, sir. The Reliant is very beautifully realized here, and I love the Excelsior-variant you came up with. Keep it going!
+Alex Palmer thank you
I love seeing the Reliant with the TOS nacelles just after its conversion Anton class to Miranda class.
The version with the TNG nacelles looks pretty cool also
Your work is truly worthy of a spot on the Star Trek board of engineers. Visually stunning and gripping. WOW, just WOW. Thank you for your brilliant talent and mind.
Wow! I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for the effort to produce it.
Slick little video.
Very well done indeed.
Thank you!
Love it. Great visual storytelling around the unseen events of this ship from STII.
The designs of these ships are works of art.
These are and will be fantastic ships! The designs are timeless!
That was Outstanding and Magnificent!
You did a great job! A lot of attention to details.
Perfect and tastefully done. Thank you for uploading the video.
Great work with this clip. Enjoyed it.
fantastic work, thanks for posting it!
Love what you are doing with these videos!
These effects are better than those in DS9. Great job!
This was beautifully done! Good Job!
What a fantastic take on a remodeled and upgraded Miranda Class. Very sleek and modern looking. Would make a great bridge for TMP era and TNG. Well done. I also like the Anton mid era upgrade with the rollbar and cylindrical nacelles. Fabulous work.
Great video ! Always loved that ship. Great job !
I like the progression from Anton to Miranda! nice!
USS Reliant: DIE!
USS Enterprise: I saved ur ass ya know?
Very nice production and a good story of the history of the Uss Reliant thank you for sharing
Very nice! Loved all the easter eggs, too!
Great piece of work! Very impressive.
very well done my friend!!!! animation and music were SPOT ON!!!!!!!!!!
Well done. That brought back memories
That was just Super Fantastic !!!
Excellent job in this recreation.Well done.
I watched Star Trek back in the 1960s as a teenager. I appreciate what you are doing here. 😊
very nice video and I absolutely LOVE the new reliant design, its absolutely a gorgeouse ship ^^ .
Thank you Lisa
your most welcome.
This is really well made, Robert. I'm impressed! I love how you combined the graphics you made with the music. It fits well!
Love the cameo of the NX-Refit and the Protector from Galaxy Quest. Awesome work!
you brought to life one of the best U.S.S ships in all of the movies and tv shows. ty
the video is awesome. Loving the music as well!!
Well done i enjoyed that very much thank you!
A fantastic animation and a really nice little story about the reliant. It is great to see that tough little ship back in action!
Excellent job here by all. Keep up the great work.
Very nice! This was fun to watch.
Amazing job, Sir!!!!
Enjoyable plausible plot! Great job! I loved seeing the NCC 1864-A at the end. Well-made design.
7:28 "He's intelligent; but, not experienced. His pattern indicates two dimensional thinking."
"Full stop. Z minus ten thousand meters. Standby photon torpedoes."
Look sharp.... FIRE
@trf12567 Well, isn't there a sunroof or something on the bridge? I know, weak response. xD
As my mom said when we first saw the movie on VHS, "Up and down are missing."
I liked the "Easter eggs" that you had by adding ships from other sci-fi series like Colonial One and the NSEA Protector.
That was a good tribute, a class still in service over 200 years later
Really good, much love!
Still looking great. Plus I liked your early Runabout design here also.
Looked like an Ambassador-class-variant Reliant at the end. Love it.
That was some great work & I don’t usually comment, but that was great!
Thank you
Well done. Good job, I like the Reliant retains it's configuration.
Loved this. Excellent work!
Just finished the 1/1000 scale model Enterprise 1701Refit (3 week task).
Now working on that grand lady NCC-1864 ...
It too is a long work in progress.
The ending was great
USS Reliant NCC-1864A
Beautiful
Great video! Relient/Miranda class is my favorite ship. I'd love to see a continuation of this story
That was so good 🖖 thanks for your hard work... Glad I found you 👏 subscribing
I LOVE the Reliant NCC-1864 all versions and the rebirth version A is incredible. Thank you!
The Excelsior-generation Reliant at the end is positively gorgeous. I'd take that as a command happily.
Wow! Great backstory for such a well-known ship! May she rest in peace. Thanks for this!
Love how she's reborn!
Nice job, very much enjoyed it
Whoever you are, the last thing you want to see is the Enterprise coming around on your six; that’s usually not survivable! ☠️
Unless Riker in incompetent command
Unless it's on your side. Then it's a miracle.
only thing about that scene I nitpick about is that the Enterprise is moving downward using the thrusters on top of the ship but when it's coming behind the Reliant it was moving upward....should've been coming down behind the Reliant.....not up....probably a film flub
@@josephamendolea3431 Enterprise moves "down" to be "lower" ( "s are because up, down, higher, lower, etc. are relative in space) than Reliant so when they figured Reliant passed over Enterprise they could come "up" from behind and "below" Reliant and surprise Khan. That was the point of the scene where Spock told Kirk that Khans thinking was brilliant but two dimensional, Kirk ordered "Full stop, Z minus ten thousand meters, standby photon torpedoes." so when they got the opportunity they could ambush Khan.
The NCC 1864-A is a gorgeous ship. Great job!
well done sir, I really appreciate the hard work you put into this project.
Well done the graphics were extraordinary as were the sound effects
Amazing work!
Excellent work! This is 7 years old and I've never seen it! Subscribed!
Outstanding!
Am I the only person who noticed the NSEA Protector at 3:46?
Yes
Never give up, never surrender!
By Grabthar's Hammer, you shall be Avenged!
No your not...is in space bay on the other side of star base
Nice Catch!
Excvellent work! You are hereby promoted to the rank of Admiral!
Beautiful !!!
I am ecstatic! Your the very first video I have ever seen showing actual physical footage of a space dock doing actual repairs instead of ships just sitting in one and leaving one without showing the actual capabilities of what an actual space dock can do.
i loved that great job and i love your take on the relient A very cool flowed really well only thing that didnt flow IMHO is the shuttle bays but still looks awesome
i love the excelsior design and would love to see more star ships with those saucers and nacells
+Andrew Vockings think of it this way, if the shuttlebays had been redesigned it might not have worked so Starfleet went with components that they new worked instead of redesigning EVERYTHING on the ship from the ground up. There are a lot of Excelsior class components in this so what if the Bays look weird. Every person love this ship and i will be working on a model version of this very soon
I think you've really nailed the feel of the original series! Congratulations
Nice video. Lots of coll touches. I especially liked the protector in space dock.
Brilliant work.
Thank you!
Totally awesome.
