musicfog.com Shinyribs launch into orbit from the Music Fog stage at Threadgill's. Recorded during SXSW 2010 in Austin, Texas. (Book your astronaut party now...spaces are limited!)
What a great super talented group just found these guys by accident on CZcams and it gives me hope that America still does have good music you just have to dig a little to find it. These guys should replace most of the junk played on commercial radio today. Just cover it up with dust and dirt and let the shiny ribs sparkle! Great job guys!!
Saw this group at Courvilles in Beaumont Texas. Was surprised Id never heard of Kevin Russell. I had no idea what I was in for. This song is my favorite. Youve got to experience them live.👍🏻👍🏻
+Shipfaced Johnson Yeah, it's good here but seeing him live is amazing. We saw them in May and he started a conga line and danced around the audience for five minutes while the band played at the end of the set.
Very simple, not rocket science. Simple observation. I play a little bit of guitar, and I have never used those two together, so I thought it was great
Jennifer Slaton @michaelberrysho seems to have a bit of deserved influence when it comes to good music. Found Shinyribs a while back then when I heard Poor People Store for his bumper tune one day I said yea. Finally
Nice rendition with those soulful keyboards. Oh man... I think I'm an astronaut.. YES!! I AM an astronaut !! Just call me.. uh.. Fuzz Aldrin! (Do I get a Private Party..?!) I'm experienced at blasting off when I go from Planet Shinyribs to Planet Gourds.. Oh man..
Hey Kevin, I saw you guys in Asheville NC at the Grey Eagle. WOW!!! Buzz Aldrin was there that night for sure... Looking forward to yall coming back this way soon!
+Casey Clarke he hammers from 2-4 on the A string followed by 2 on the D and repeats then plays a A chord lickor muted A during verses. he repeats 3 or 4 times then plays D, F#minor, E x4 then he plays the chorus F#m, Cm, D, A X3 then on the last line of the chorus i think he goes F#m,Cm,D,A,B,A, back to the verse rhythm in E. At least thats how Ive been playing it.
+Drew .jarrett sounds close. I think the beginning lick starts and ends on the 2nd fret of D string. Can you figure out what he goes to after the A chord between those muted hammer-on licks?
Good question "who built the moon" according to Pleiadians (Benevolent ETs) it came from Jupiter, long time ago... and yeah it seems artificial, it is a communications satelite between Pleiades and our solar system (they use biological computers so, don't askme how it works)

I know it's a crazy song, but it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Is that an old Es-150? I love that guitar.
+TenThumbs Productions
Es-125.
He does have an Es-150, though.
He's got a handful of e series, a 335 that I've seen, as well.
125, 150, 335, and the L-5, made in Kalamazoo, my four favorite guitars of all time.

Anybody know how Kevin plays this song? Looking for chords.

did the people in the song build the moon!
Naw they just hung it
I like how he says the Moon started with an onion because it reminds me of Pikmin
The moon us hollow
