Dr. Phil doesn't even bother asking her why she wouldn't want her mother there and even only talks to her mother 99% of the time. I was with someone with similar issues to Bailey for over 8 years. My partner was delusional, a compulsive liar, had imaginary children, falsely accused me of beating her etc. But I realised she had a problem and stuck by her. Her parents and our mutual friends could see that she was so much improved with me in her life, which did wonders for my confidence.
      Unfortunately, (and unknown to me at the time), I suffered an emotional trauma and had several things going on in my life, which caused my brain to 'shut down' for the last four years of our relationship. I was suffering from derealisation and depersonalisation, so I lost touch with reality and my brain just did enough to 'survive'. This caused our relationship to go nowhere (we had both wanted to marry and have children), but I struggled with making any decisions.
      Eventually, the relationship broke down (needless to say, with m partner falsely accusing me of her raping her, resulting in my arrest). I was left homeless and without any of my belongings overnight. It took over a year to realise just how mentally ill I had been, and I don't think I'll ever recover from the repercussions of it.
      The mental trauma I suffered was the death of my mother. I had been living with her at the time, so had to leave quickly and moved in with my girlfriend. This was on the premise that I would buy a house for us to live in. When I received an inheritance from my Mum a few months later, I was overwhelmed by what I could afford, but the overwhelm of choosing a property (and a location), asking my girlfriend's parents for permission to marry her, arranging a wedding, as well as some other issues I had going on (my job and location were likely to change, I had a difficult insurance claim which could have cost me hugely if it wasn't paid, which seemed possible) all became too much for me and I just couldn't think. I would look online at houses, wondering why they weren't as affordable as ones I had seen a few months earlier, so thought I should save more to 'catch up', but of course, it was a lost cause. I would never be able to afford the type of property that I could have done when I inherited, but I just didn't realise it (despite being a qualified accountant). I had lost tuch with reality.
      I constantly think about how I could have been so much better for my girlfriend if I hadn't been so mentally ill myself, and I will never forgive myself for letting her down so badly and ruining her dreams of having a family (it's too late for both of us now). But similar to Bailey, I think the right person who understands and tolerates her and wants to help her will do wonders for her.

      Same, I've been in a similar situation on both sides, actually. I think Bailey got caught in the Twin Flames New Age gimmick, where a lot of vultures / gurus teach people to believe in their "intuition", trusting the signs, etc. I've been in Twin Flames groups, and she uses the exact same terminology as people would there. Thinking that your beloved hears what you say, taste what you taste, etc., is super normal in these communities. It has now been proven that these groups can be like cults, exploiting people traumas and their need to be understood and loved as a whole (people like Jeff and Sheleia, for instance, are actual cult leaders disguised as Twin Flames).

    I've been in a relationship with someone I met online before. It can really mess with your mind. Especially if you're young (I was 17-19). You only see all of the good parts of someone and you make up your own version of the other person as well as yourself. You hold yourself to high, impossible standards. Then when you don't see the other person for a while you fill in the gaps with what you wish was happening when it wasnt. The relationship at the time was mutual, he visited me first and i visited him a few times after that. It was the first time a cute/handsome guy ever gave me attention of any kind. But man at the time he broke it off with me it was hard to cut the habit of talking to the other person. Not missing the person themselves, but just the habit of looking at the phone and having messages and having something to look forward to. It's been 12 years now and I'm still mad at myself for how STUPID I was. But I was young and had zero life experience up to that point. I threw myself into something I was 100% not ready for. Now I'm in a healthy 10 year long relationship now with a 6 year old girl. Bailey will be fine. She basically created a fake person in her mind and Dr. Phil handled this completely wrong.

    Not many people know this but dr. Phil is not a legal practising doctor, his license got cancelled back in 2008 or something, and this whole episode shows clearly why his license got cancelled in the first place.

    • @TheCierra1989
      @TheCierra1989 Před 3 lety

      It wasn't canceled. He chose to let it expire. His shows are filmed in California, where he has no license to practice. He does have a doctorate in psychology. Still doesn't excuse him though.

    I work in mental health and sometimes you have to snap the people back into reality before you start medicating them.

    • @janchampine1899

      How does one go about "snapping someone back into reality"? My son has psychosis and is delusional. Any time I say something that challenges his ridiculous beliefs, he starts screaming immediately. No one is allowed to disagree with him. If I don't hear HIS auditory hallucinations, it's because I'm old and deaf. Or lying.
      This girl made several comments STILL eluding to the fact that she hoped they'd be "together", even while apologizing. She's not "snapped back" at all.

    Bailey can admit and apologise and listen to what ppl say and she's soo sweet & kind compared to other guests "dr" phil had. He could have talk calmly w/ her but instead he just became a bully seeing it as a large issue compared to others! The day would come when u would get fully exposed and lose ur job & maybe go to jail😄

      This did literally happened with something in the UK. Jeremy Kyle. Self-appointed saviour with resident psychologist etc etc.
      Ultimately everything came to an abrupt end following the suicide of a 'guest' a few days after he appeared on the 'show'. A judge termed the programme a modern-day form of bear baiting. It was actually based around Dr Phil!

    Poor girl has obviously endured a lot and is struggling to keep a toe hold in reality. Shame on Dr. Phil for exploiting this vulnerable young woman for ratings. She agreed with everything everyone wanted her to and still both the doctor and other guest kept hammering her to fill up the episode time. Shame on you.
