The guy is so uncomfortable sitting beside her
Agreed. She’s the type to kill him because she’s so fixated.
I'd be terrified of her, especially if I was told she drove 80,000 miles looking for me.
@@kurliigurlii Ya think?
@@hothotheat3000 Can you say psycho?
I feel that was a bad choice.
She’s not lying, she’s delusional. She actually believes the things that she saying. Something is wrong....She needs help
Exactly. My sister was like this, she’s in a psychosis
If you watch the whole episode you find out she's having a common long-time side effect of one of her meds.
Paranoid schizophrenia
That's why she is on the Dr. Phil show, she will get the professional help she needs which is way above her pay grade. The best of the best. She needs to be restored to factory settings, she's insane.
How is it that you can judge as to whether or not someone is actually experiencing what has happened or that they are suffering from paranoia?
I had a conversation with someone on a cell phone in my upstairs bedroom that my ex knew about the following week. He had to have had some kind of spyware in my bedroom or in the cell phone that I was using. (We were not a couple at the time)
A police officer had the audacity to write up a letter to the courts on his behalf imploring them to get a restraining against me because I was suffering from delusions.
The only thing delusional about that is having an untrained police officer that obviously doesn't know the first thing about domestic violence.
Until you've been there don't be so quick to judge. When you ignore someone's repeated plees for help...because YOU think she's delusional.
You may very well be leaving her in danger.
Times have changed and so has the faces of domestic abuse.
Seems like a genuinely nice guy. He handled this very well.
So Canadian 🇨🇦
I feel kind of bad for him. He had to be embarrassed.
He did, and he still managed to keep a very firm boundary of distance. I hope she's stopped harassing him
He’s really nice because he keeps saying “sorry” like “I’m sorry but no I didn’t do that”. She needs help and I hope she got it
He really did
That was so embarrassing. She stood up to greet him with a smile on her face, and got rejected on national TV.
She should have waited for that....l felt sorry for her....but the guy is okay, he looked like a nice guy
It was a greater kindness. He rejected her so as to not feed into her romantic delusions. Hugging (a friendly, intimate thing) her would have simply encouraged her untrue and unhealthy beliefs about their relationship. Turning the hug down just sent a message of "I don't like you *that* much" that she desperately needed. There are times when you have to hurt someone to do right by them.
Her embarrassment, if any, is the absolute least of it.
I'm also sure what he was told about her obsession with him creeped him out. I'm pretty sure I would have been terrified of her...
I think it was better than hugger her and her thinking it’s another sign or communication.
The guy has been dragged on TV to prove he isn’t doing what she claims and still feels guilty and apologised... that right there is a good man trying to get by in life.
That is a true Canadian. Apologizing for everything. 😆
Oh please spare me the B.S. nobody dragged him on TV pal, and don't forget it. He could've just said no. And this wouldn't even be a show..do you know how many people turn down showing up that don't go through on thr show..
@@adamburling9551 it’s a figure of speech sweetheart 😂
@@yep.1106 Even though I agree that the guy seems to genuinely be a good person and means well, Adam Burling is correct in that the best move for most is to just not go on this show.
Dr. Phil is known to take advantage of the sick individuals he has on his show and profit with little regard for them or their help. He uses his time more to degrade than to treat.
There's a CZcams channel "Squirmy and Grubs" with a couple that is interabled. They were asked to do the show and thought it'd be great. Then they were told by people to think it over. They watched some episodes and realized it was more a circus show than something that would benefit interabled advocacy and education so they backed out.
They watched the episode they were originally supposed to be part of and it was just Dr. Phil making the partner that was physically abled feel like they were a slave to the partner that was physically disabled. He made the entire episode out as if no interabled couples work despite reaching out to the CZcamsrs first (which is an obvious evidence that there are interabled couples that are in healthy rewarding relationships, because that's what the entire channel is about promoting). He just ignored that premise because he wanted a dramatic show.
So the CZcamsrs basically said they saw firsthand that Dr. Phil's intentions aren't good and they were glad they declined. But other people will go on because it's a popular show, but they're only going to be taken advantage of. Same with actress Shelly Duvall.
Dr. Phil isn't in the business of healing the mentally ill. He probably sees his show more like a freak show.
Nah....he's just Canadian..😂😂
“Can I have a hug” “Nope”
He didn't want to feed into her delusions.
He was smart not to give her a hug. Someone like her who is overly obsessed with this guy would have decided it was some kind of sign or something and blown it up in her head to mean something else entirely.
"not today" is what he said.

I’m so proud of him for not hugging her. That is a man who respects himself.
Rejecting the hug was an act of kindness, i hope people know. It would only feed into her delusions and make the whole thing harder for her. He was also protecting himself from someone who is not living in the same reality as everyone else.

These ppl write Dr Phil and ask for his help. They want to go on national TV. I understand how some could see it as using these ppl but I don't feel it is. They sign the paperwork, even mentally unstable ppl can decide to be on TV. It also serves to shine a light on mental health. Maybe watching this will be the catalyst that drives someone to seek help for themselves or others.

This guy really kept it together very well.
This guy is very classy. Has a good sense of humor, doesn’t make fun of her tho, and understands that she needs help while at the same time making the case that he has not been in contact and messing with her for years
When I watch shows like this I'm always reminded how lucky I am to have a sound mind.
If I had to sit beside her I would have the same concerned for my own safety look on my face as he had. I had a friend who developed schizophrenia and turned a memory of a genuine friendship (but zero more) into a fictional love affair and she started stalking me. It was painful having to deal with her via the authorities, but when someone is very sick like that they can become very irrational and stab someone, or take their own life. The don’t need hugs that reinforce the obsession, but medication and time in the ward.
I’d hate to be in that position with a best friend, I’m sorry that happened to you. It sucks, I’ve been psychotic before too but people can recover. I believe everyone experiences delusions and mental confusion and are even in an almost psychotic state while dreaming (brain waves), but sometimes the chemicals get out of balance, and it becomes extreme and people become out of touch with reality. Just the human brain’s way of coping with severe trauma though, it’s kind of amazing. Throw in the fact that a lot of people have spiritual experiences and feel energy surges/spiritual awakenings in psychosis and it becomes even more wild. It is very confusing and distressing to someone while in psychosis. Have to make sure everyone involved is safe first of course but one of the positives you can get out of psychosis is deep insight into someone’s psyche and state of wellbeing. Breaks tend to happen right after major trauma. They are also in an altered state where subconscious material rises to be seen and dealt with.
I'm sorry that's hard. I've got an old bf that lurks my neighborhood on his Harley bc I was a good friend, we got close but he's nutters. I've had to call the police too.
