      imo that rlly dosent make a different to me , its still maagi and it still tastes the same wether u break or not. i think bc it makes it bit different when breaking it might be bc there wont be a pleasure of slurping noodles. but idk thats just my opinion.

    • @sushivision
      @sushivision Před 2 lety +20

      There are two types of people in this world. There are those that break their noodles, and there are those who don't.
      The breaking noodles habit was probably developed when noodles were meant to be seeped in boiling water in a bowl and not cooked on stovetop. It's hard to get the noodles submerged completely without breaking the patties in half. Eventually people decided that cooking on stovetop was a better way of doing it because the noodles would be more well cooked, especially for the thicker variants, but the breaking habit was still retained despite the vessel being wider.

    I have NEVER seen maggi made like this but honestly I’m tempted to try. He was right about one thing though, there is no one way to make Maggi. Everyone in India has their own little modifications they do to the basic way of cooking it. A lot of people do like it plain but I think, as Indians, our collective extra gene forces us to add more spice and flavour.

    As a Swiss, I'm always amazed that Maggi is so popular in asia. I don't understand how something originating from our meh tasting cuisine appeals to people with some of the most flavourful food.

    • @rohansingh1057
      @rohansingh1057 Před 2 lety +3

      It does not. Even in India it's considered cheap food that is not supposed to taste good. However it's the go to thing for all college people and any mother who does not have time to prepare a proper meal. Instant noodles are quite popular around the world despite it being a well known fact that its cheap food and anything homemade or something fresh in a restraunt will always be better.
      It therefore has a nostalgic value to It.
      As you can Indians are quite transformative with it though. The plain maggi is practically converted to a dish that looks and tastes like something that you would normally eat in India.

    • @greeksalad6111
      @greeksalad6111 Před 9 měsíci

      There are probably two, maybe three factors that make it so popular in India.
      Firstly, they've really altered the tastemaker to favour the Indian palate. That in itself makes the noodles very versatile. Any other combination of spices would've made Maggi too one directional. Indians like versatility, lol.
      Secondly, as the comment above remarks, the nostalgia of it. There is one thing you'll find with every student living away from home, and that's Maggi. It's also food for people who are hard pressed for money. By that I mean the terrible end of the month pockets. Students in particular live a frugal life so Maggi is almost the next best alternative. I myself had some for dinner last night.
      Thirdly, like Raktim so correctly pointed out, we can't do anything straight. So after all the years Maggi has been in the market there have been hundreds of variations made to it. Everyone has their own way of preparing it, and its always fun trying someone else's recipe. Maggi is the most versatile food option out there. You can have it plain, or make a whole meal out of it and serve a party of six. At this point Maggi is not even Swiss, it's Indian. 😆
