Everybody hated Kubrick- endless takes (70+ takes), endless alteration of the script, verbal abuse and so on. Jack Nicholson said he stopped memorizing his lines because Kubrick kept on changing it.
JG that’s the perfectionism that made him one of the greatest directors of all time tho, I’m sure it was frustrating for most actors that worked with him. Pretty interesting hearing Malcom macdowell speak about his approach in working with him as a directorial genius, allowing his performance to sort of charge the film of A Clockwork Orange. A lot of the important and iconic scenes were improvised and Kubrick admired and encouraged it in that particular role. Haven’t gone through all of his films yet, but man he’s such an interesting filmmaker. I’ve noticed my favorite films come from those nutty perfectionists like Peter Jackson and Christopher Nolan. Glad I wasn’t the one having to act for em tho lmao it takes a special kinda actor to excel under that pressure in circumstance
e causey John Hughes 😂😂 how are you being comparing those two, you need a new PALETTE dog, this ones past cleansing
JG lazy actors, every good film rewrites constantly. The good actors know their roles and help with writing their characters
@@nostalgiajunkie He made the whole cast shun her and not talk to her, he berated and pushed her past her tipping point. She literally went mad and never worked again. That's not a great director, a great director could direct someone as opposed to pushing them to full schizophrenia.
@@nostalgiajunkie How many great directors weren't a pain in the ass on the set? Imagine how much will and energy and perseverance it takes to get all these people--cast and crew--to not just "phone it in" now and again. Most directors, like most of us in life, reach a point where we say "good enough"/"that's a wrap." Great directors don't--they keep pushing until their vision is actually there on the screen. That means you have to work against the natural human tendency to mediocrity and that means you have to piss some people off. It is the price of excellence and the number of great directors who got great work from people without being a pain in the ass is very, very few.
"Unwanted romantic advances." Ha, nice euphemism.
Tipi Hedren's said: “I’ll simply say that he suddenly grabbed me and put his hands on me. It was sexual, it was perverse, and it was ugly, and I couldn’t have been more shocked and repulsed. The harder I fought him, the more aggressive he became. Then he started adding threats, as if he could do anything to me that was worse than what he was trying to do at that moment."
When Hedren fought him off, Hitchcock promised, “I’ll ruin your career.” She was still under contract.
So Hitchcock was Psycho
Hitchcock - the original Weinstein.
But it's really just her word against his... Who's to say it ever got THAT bad.
@@TheSP33DFREAK And comments like yours are why women are afraid to come forward and those that do, do it much later. Unless you have contrary evidence, shut the fuck up.
Christ that David O'Russell clip was intense.
How is Megan Fox and Michael Bay's dispute worst than the two guys who almost killed each other?
Right? Apperantely the natives that acted in the movie offered Herzog to kill Kinsky ^^
same thought here...
More notable.
lanaisthere I feel the same. That should have been number one. I would imagine a gun would automatically trigger the number one spot.
lanaisthere yeah, specially 'cause no one likes Megan Fox
Kudos to Shelly Duvall for sticking with it, best performance of her career and one hell of a great movie.
Alba The Antagonist the best performance of her career is three women
Val Kilmer and any director he's ever worked with
Joel Schumacher.
I consider it a directorial issue, directors choose the film's stars. Kilmer is known to be a method actor, and can you refresh my memory, because I seem to have forgotten the last film Schumacher directed.
I'm your huckleberry
He's done some small stuff. he was on the series finally of Psych as a surprise guest.
OOOOOH Boy, you wanna hear how shitty Val Kilmer was back in the day, just watch the documentary "Lost Soul" on the failed Dr. Moreau film he did with Marlon Brando.....he literally acted like a high school bully to everyone it's insane
Uh, yea, what about Sean Connery and Stephen Norrington for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? The fights between them got so bad that Norrington hasn't made a film since, and Connery, a bonafide film legend, flat out retired because of it! Kinda surprised that wasn't at #1!
Yeah but Norrington wasn’t a good director and Sean Connery is actually a great actor, while also being kind of an asshole
@@thedeepfriar745 is he that great?
@@thedeepfriar745 Yeah, CONNERY EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO TELL THE DIRECTOR TO GO VISIT THE LOCAL ASYLUM. *OUCH*.
dude yelling at lily tomlin was nuts. i can't believe she stayed on after that.
Don't judge these people based on 1 clip.
She went nuts on him too.
Yeah, when you see the full clips, she was telling him off for several minutes before he finally blew way up at her. Then, there's another clip where she is cursing everyone, including Russell, Dustin Hoffman, and Naomi Watts. Then, she makes Hoffman mad, and he starts cursing Russell, "Just shoot this fucker, now!" It was a very stressful set.
Contract.
shanny Allen because she’s a woman in Hollywood, what else is she gonna do
The Smith Willis feud was sad cause Smith loved Willis before he directed him.
I can’t imagine what that feels like. Your hero in front of you turning into a jerk in your eyes.
I would have expected a case of two people wanting to kill each other higher then 4th place
"Unwanted romantic advances" is an extremely kind way of saying he tried to force her into sex - he *blatantly* told her to make herself sexually available to him at any given moment!!!! Then when she refused he kept her in her contract, by virtue she couldn't work for any other company and he didn't give her any roles!!!! To me that's sexually based extortion and is fare more savage then just "unwanted romantic advances"
I feel like we should look at these cases and strip some of these men of their titles, honours and awards.
I'm glad she got to tell her story. I'm sure there were women (and even men... maybe) who couldn't.
I suppose you have proof that he *blatantly* said and did all this, right? If not, then it's not *blatant* now is it? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?
I think Tippi Hedren overreacted just a little bit. It was her first movie and she hadn't yet worked with nightmare directors like Orson Welles, other actresses who had more experience actually found Hichcock pretty sweet.
(Grace Kelly, Janet Lee) Hichcock was a big douche to her on set, but not to that extent which she discribed.
but why would she say something as incendiary to her budding career as that if there wasn’t some truth to it. she had nothing to gain by frivolously making shit up lmao y’all are ridiculous
You guys always find the perfect quotes in the movie being discussed for the situation.Keep up the good work.
Herzog and Kinski should have been number one. The title is "hated each other". I don't think many of the people on the list had a mutual dislike. Kubrick may have adored Duval, his behavior notwithstanding. Willis is possibly indiferent to Smith, Hitchcock remained enamoured with Hedren, etc.
I'm glad they made the list. But there's no question Herzog and Kinski are No. 1.
let me tell you that, if you had watched not only My Best Fiend, but all the herzog/kinski related footage, what they both wrote in their books about each other, the fact that they made 5 films together... this was a creative love relationship, with herzog being some sort of dompteur for the beast that was kinski. herzog recalled, if he let kinski scream his butt off for an hour, he would get an amazing performance out of him like in the clip that you just saw at the end of Aguirre.. he used him, in a way. all for the sake of film.
WTf do you mean enamoured?! You mean maliciously obsessed. Is that what you were going for?
I was sad to hear about Murray and Ramis, I had zero clue about that. Glad they got to 'make up '. Big thumbs up for George Clooney for standing up to that horrid director.
I don't know if the Ramis/Murray conflict is actually real
AndrewJ26
Lasted 21 years they said
Pia Hansen Clooney and Russell made up a few years back.
yeah I'm not sure how to take it. ive listened to the Groundhog Day commentary and i dont remember Ramis saying anything bad about Murray at all. first ive heard of it
George Clooney on the other hand is also known for being a tremendous dipshit, though. Not that I know much about celebrities, in any case.
How about whene Josh Trank and Milles Teller almost going into a fist fight in the set of the Fantastic four movie.
Still better than any of the fights in that movie

Many more to come!
I'm going to make a prediction and guess that Shelly Duval and Kubrick will be on here.
I would have guessed that Herzog - Kinski would (or should) have been #1
I feel that Stanley Kubrick shouldn’t be given as much praise as he gets especially he was so awful to all of his actors in all of his film, he was abusive and tormented his actors. If an actor is worth their salt then they can bring the emotionality and the energy of a great performance without being Psychologically tortured by their director.
Taner Archibald thank you
Funny that Heigal hasnt been in a good movie since Knocked Up
Apparently she doesn't get along with anyone.
She is actually black-listed by Hollywood.
I don't think Meagan Fox was disinterested, I just think she's a terrible actress.
Yeah, but let's be honest, she wasn't hired for her acting abilitiy. Also, I think Michael Bay movies are mostly complete and utter shit.
he ruined the TMNT franchise...with his weird colored eyes turtes lol
Darren Z she didn't have a good script. The transformer film are terrible
2 things can be true at once. ..she sucks and was disinterested.
You got that right!!!
How did you not mention the Island of Dr. Moreau? They kicked the director off and he secretly spied on them while living on the island!
Herzog tried to burn Kinski's house down with him in bed, but he was saved when his dog woke up and attacked Herzog. He carried a shotgun with him whilst filming Aguire, and would fire warning shots to keep Kinski in place. The best thing though is Spielberg wanted Kinski to play Indiana Jones but after he read the script he said: 'This script is a yawn-making, boring, pile of shit.' Hahaha. We salute you Klaus!
You missed out John Frankenheimer vs the entire cast of The Island of Doctor Moreau.
Stanley got fired by the studio, there's a whole documentary about it called "The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanleys Island of Dr. Moreau", fascinating stuff, well worth a watch. Frankenheimer came in to replace him and ended up having huge arguments with Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando(who also hated each other) and everyone else.
"IF I WERE MAKING 'THE STORY OF VAL KILMER' I WOULDN'T HAVE THAT PRICK IN IT"
Kate Winslet and James Cameron - Titanic,
Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller - Deadpool,
Terrence Howard and Jon Favreau - Iron Man,
and Val Kilmer and Joel Schumacher - Batman Forever.
I'm surprised Director Sir David Lean and Actor Sir Alec Guinness did not make the list for Bridge on the River Kwai. It got so bad at one point that after Alec finished his scene. David Lean said something like
"Now you can all fuck off and go home, you English actors. Thank God that I'm starting work tomorrow with an American actor!" (Meaning William Holden).
cripplehawk what a twatbag
Interesting. So this is the same man who said "American writers really frighten me. They talk so well and write so badly. I have now worked with five of them and not one has come along with a big, original idea" ?
Gloobey that's funny considering A lot of his best films are based off books.
I understand Guinness was a bit pretentious. Couldn't really make the leap to the silver screen without a little snootiness from his theater days spilling in.
@Jehovah
Well, considering he was a Shakespearean actor? Yeah.
Star Wars ain't Shakespeare.
Tommy Wiseau and everyone on The Room, Michael Bay and Bruce Willis on Armageddon, Dan O'Bannon and Clu Gulager on Return of the Living Dead (to the point where Clu tried to kill Dan with timber!), Peter Sellers and Blake Edwards on The Pink Panther movies, Ed Harris and James Cameron on The Abyss (Ed even punched Jim on the face for trying to drown him).
Wow I'm shocked by Bill Murray and Harold Ramis and Shelley Duvall and Stanley Kubrick. I had no idea. Especially with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis. They made some really classic comedy movies.
Shelly Duvall has said in retrospect that she understands what Kubrick did to get the best performance out of her - and the end result is really amazing. People might think she's annoying in the film, but she's very believable as someone who's stressed-out, frightened, and scared as hell. I can't imagine it was enjoyable for her to make the film, because Kubrick really was making her situation really awful, but she seems to have come around since then.
What sucks is who she is now... She's lost her mind, and that's putting it politely.
She is a broken women. She gave an interview recently in which she claimed Robin Williams wasn't really dead, he was just a shape shifter who got tired of being Robin Williams so he changed into something else. She's totally gone.
Yeah but it wasn't acting. She WAS stressed-out, frightened, and scared as hell. It wasn't a performance.
+TheBlarggle Yeah, that interview made me very sad. She stemmed like such a sweet woman when she was young.
That was only because Kubrick filmed her scenes 127 times. The baseball bat scene, for example. Do you think he was trying his best then?
Only because her scenes were filmed 127 films.
you should do a top 10 directors who are fun to work with.
None😂
Wes Anderson I’ve heard. With the exception of gene Hackman
Mel brooks has to be fun.
Huh. I feel like I've seen this video already. Oh right. Looper. God damn all these top 10s, why do I keep watching them.
I agree. Gota stop gotta stop gotta stop...
if there is an anonymous addiction group for "top ten" videos, I would probably have to join it
Ikr😂🤣.
Most of the movies are some of my favorites. Loved the shining, blade runner, China town, boogie nights, and Groundhog Day
Not sure Harrison Ford and Ridley Scott belong on the list. Ford reportedly didn't like all the smoke used in lighting on the set, had problems with co-star Sean Young and hated all the night shooting. I don't think it was personal though. He just didn't enjoy doing Bladerunner, but he and Scott were on the same side in tryin g to make the best picture they could. When the studio tried to take the movie away from Scott and add the voice overs, Ford tried to sabotage them to force them to ditch the idea.
Kubrick is a genius moviemaker but the way he treated Shelley was abominable. Watch "Making 'The Shining'" You'll want to spit in Kubrick's face after you slap him across the head.
You should watch interviews with Shelley from years later when she talks about deliberately trying to play the victim in that scenario because she was jealous of all the attention Jack Nicholson was getting. Kubrick knew what was going on and he didn't fall for it. She had nothing but praise for him since that film came out.
That was actually Kubrick's intention, not because he was an ass, but because he wanted to get a miserable performance from her.
Did you know both Duvall and Kubrick were nominated for Razzie's for The Shining?
Honestly, there are so many. They barely showed/talked about Norton and there's no mention of Kilmer or Bale.
For some reason, I never got into Kubrick.
Fox was just a childish actress that felt that she was bigger and more important than anyone else. That was known all over. The whole "Fox is one of the hottest women alive" thing got to her little head. One of the few actresses that let that happen.
after she said that spielberg told him to fire her and never work with her again and u don't piss him off because her career went nowhere after that until she sucked up to bay and apologised
As far as I can tell, her career still hasn't gone much farther. Most people I personally know that watched TMNT said she ruined it.
lurch321
Man... Are you fucking serious? I thought I was the only one who thought so! She's may have a *decent* body, but she sure hasn't got a good looking face.
+Blah deblah I would never say what? Fag? I have probably said that to people faces 100's of times over the years. Sometimes it causes a shouting match and other times we throw fists. Big fuckin deal. Get over yourself.
All she was good for is being pretty. That's pretty much it.
Katherine Hiegl.. imagine that. Turned down an emmy for her time on Greys too. Supposedly its also her Mother that is constantly causing problems on set as well as her attitude.
Jeff Cirelli yeah that woman is a b word
Sometimes a c word too
I fully agree with her. What? Should she be silent and stay in the kitchen?
Co-worker of mine was an extra in the new Transformer film for part that was filmed on the Isle of Skye and she saw Bay in action.
First, she said all the crew were total sweethearts. Then she told us how Bay demanded "A fucking coffee". One crew member said "Right away Mister Bay" and ran off for it.
Bay then said "At least one of you dick heads is useful".
My Co-worker gets impression that Bay's success is due to his crew and that they are good at working round his ego.
you could make a list of just the horror stories about Kubrick torturing his cast.
That thumbnail is hilarious with the title
Deadpool it sure is Mr. Pool!! :D
As much as I love Bill Murray, he can be a douche sometimes. All these years refusing to do a Ghostbusters III, because he hated Ghostbusters since Ghostbusters II, he makes a cameo in that awful sewage directed by Paul Feig. Why, Bill, why? Did you hate Harold Ramis that bad, that you'd appear in a shitty remake rather than a canon sequel??
You make it sound like Bill Murray voluntarily made the cameo. Supposedly, he was threatened with legal action if he didn't play ball. You can see him looking terribly unethusiastic in promo interviews for the film...
supercyberfunk Yes! I am always hearing what a jerk Chevy Chase was/is and he and Bill Murray famously did not get along. People always seem to take Murray's side. But he's on this list and Chevy isn't. Hmm...
ElSpewtardo How was he threatened with legal action? When Sony bought the rights to do Ghostbusters, did they buy Bill Murray along with it?
***** Still doesn't answer how that works, though. I don't understand how buying rights to do a film buys you the right to force actors into your own steaming pile of crap.
I doubt the whole thing and believe he did participate mostly volountarily. He's BILL MURRAY for crying out loud. If he REALLY hadn't wanted to do, it would've just put his lawyers on the case. Or went to the press, announcing that the studio would force him, the beloved star of the beloved original, to appear in a sequel he didn't feel like doing.
He probably thought this was going to be interesting or something and then discovered just how stupid the sequels was after signing the contract.
Heigl called Knock Off sexist, then went on to star in The Killers, playing a character so ditzy that’s it would give Gloria Steinem a heart attack
Lmfao at Jason just relaxing on his chair one leg up during that whole outburst on set, haha.
What about Julia Roberts and Herbert Ross? Things got so bad on the set of "Steel Magnolias" that Sally Field and Shirley McClaine had to go to Ross and tell him to back off of Julia. Then, he continued to bash her after the movie had wrapped.
Also.......Herbert Ross and Dolly Parton weren't so chummy either.
I honestly feel bad for Duvall.
I once went to a screening of Sin City (which features Bruce Willis) attended by Frank Miller who talked about the filmmaking experience. No friction mentioned, but being a first-time co-director, he said it was intimidating to give Bruce any performance feedback. Imagine if your new job involved telling a world-famous tough-guy actor how to do his!
7:33 How ironic concidering before this I got a Werner Herzog teaches filmmaking ad.
There's much more to the Kubrick/Duvall conflict. You guys could have gone more into detail for your #1 pick..
Hey you guys listened to me. That's awesome!
Honorable mention for Roy Schieder and Jeannot Szwarc in Jaws 2?
On the set of Jaws 2 (1978), Roy Scheider and Jeannot Szwarc did not get along. the producer asked them both to air their differences but it resulted in a physical confrontation. Roy Scheider even wrote a letter to Jeannot Szwarc that said, working with Jeannot Szwarc is knowing that he'll never say he is sorry or admitting he overlooked something.
My honourable mention goes to Sir Sean Connery and director Stephen Norrington - they allegedly fell out so badly on the set of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" that Connery quit acting and went into retirement soon afterwards... I honestly thought that one would make the list.

fuck no
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!
Where can I find the footage that is shown at the very beginning of the video?
Peter Sellers and Blake Edwards clashed often, too.
O M G!!! YOU FORGOT
AKIRA KUROSAWA (Director) and TOSHIRO MIFUNE (ACTOR)
Their relationship was really heated
but mifune starred in some excellent movies from akira.
How about Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller from Deadpool? I hears they clash over Deadpool 2!
Tim Miller was the real talent there. I'm on his side. Reynolds is just an inconvenience.
I remember reading a story about the on set battles between Dustin Hoffman and director Stephen Frears on the movie HERO. Their fighting got so bad that co-star Andy Garcia had to beg Hoffman to stop for fear that Frears would have a nervous breakdown.
Tony Kay--now there's a household name. He probably went back to shooting commercials.
Well, you can't expect _everyone_ to get along.
Yeah but you can expect everyone to act professional and not throw tantrums and scream like man children. Or sexually assault people. That’s not a tall order and if it is, get the fuck out of the business. We don’t need another Weinstein.
Coppola And Brando in Apocalypse now?
Well, I think Brando's hatred towards Frank Oz was worse: he actually refused to be on the same set as him, so Robert de Niro had to get Brando's direction from Frank Oz via an earphone and tell Brando it. Plus that Frank Oz was constantly called "Miss. Piggy" by Brando.
emaldinho I'm pretty sure Coppola bowed to his every whim to avoid conflict and he knew he was getting excellent stuff from letting Brando almost write all his own lines.
If you had to shoot under horrible conditions for years, I’m pretty sure every body would hate each other. Just kind of natural human behavior, although Brando literally just making up all his lines, cause he didn’t want to read cue cards, like he did for The Godfather, that would be kind of annoying.
It crazy these beefs are on set of some of the best movies!
Man these actors and these directors have hard time for their situations of making their films, but at least they did.
Here's are more few actors and directors hated each other:
- Christian Bale & McG (Terminator Salvation)
- Daisy Ridley & J.J. Abrams (Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens)
- Lindsay Lohan & Garry Marshall (Georgia's Rule)
- Leonardo DiCaprio & Clint Eastwood (J. Edgar)
- Hayden Christensen & George Lucas (Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones & Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith)
- Lindsay Lohan & Paul Schrader (The Canyons) Never trust Lindsay
- Sean Connery & Stephen Norrington (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)
- Christina Ricci & Vincent Gallo (Buffalo 66)
- Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio & James Cameron (The Abyss)
- The Entire Cast & Directors of Movie 43 (Movie 43)
- Val Kilmer & Tony Scott (Top Gun)
- Keanu Reeves & Joe Charnanic (The Watcher)
- Emily Blunt & Rob Letterman (Gulliver's Travels)
What are your sources on this? I can't deny any of them, but as a huge star wars fan, I'm quite sure I would have heard about Ridley and Abrams disliking eachother, or even Hayden Christensen & GL. Where did you find this info?
JohnBobergMusic Abrams and Ridley didn't hate each other, but the first day was a little rocky, where Ridley was just struggling on her first big set
Scoot mcscootson Yeah, I've heard that stuff. Thought Felipe meant all of these people hated eachother, which they clearly did not (as far as we know).
How about Fritz Lang and just about every actor he worked with? Brigitte Helm, who played Maria and the robot in "Metropolis" was traumatized by the experience. In the scene where the robot is burned at the stake the flames were so close her hair was singed. He used to fire real bullets on set. Thankfully he had become an excellent marksman during WWI. In Hollywood, both Henry Fonda and Spencer Tracy vowed never to work with him again. Unfortunately, Fonda did have to work with him twice. He had played Jesse James' brother Frank in "Jesse James" and Lang was hired to direct the sequel, "The Return Of Frank James." Randolph Scott had a scene in "Western Union" where his character had to free his tied hands by burning the rope in a campfire. Lang made him do it for real. Etc., etc., etc....
MEM & James Cameron is true. She refused to be interviewed in the "Making Of..." for the Abyss.
Wait? So Tony Kaye tried to distance himself from American History X? And then it came out and it was(i'll say it) a masterpiece. That sound like an episode of Curb your enthusiasm or Seinfeld and that would be the moment where they cue the awkward music.
Tony Kaye should be grateful for Edward Norton because that was one of the reasons why some people watched the movie after see Edwards performance in Primal Fear.
What about Marylin Monroe and Laurence Olivier?
Bruce Willis, Faye Dunaway, Katherine Heigl, Ed Norton vs any director, really. All are known to be difficult.
Bill Murray and Harold Ramis?! I didn't see that one coming.
kubriks actions though horrible had a purpose. He wanted to stress out his cast and to make them feel isolated in order to get the most out of their performance.
Shaun Thomas And look at the price. Shelly Duvall was practically traumatized by his constant abuse and Malcolm McDowell got a phobia from eyedrops and eye damage from all the shit Kubrick made him go through. I think it's safe to say that he's a godamn sociopath who really doesn't care about his actors.
Oh I'm not disagreeing thay what he did was wrong. Not at all. Just saying that he had his reasons (however messed up they were)
He mostly did this just to make the atsmosphere in his films look real.
What kind of justification is that? Hitler's actions had purpose too. Scaring the high holy hell out of Shelly Duvall is not an "ends justify the means" scenario.
Wouldn't it be so much easier to just let the actors act or, if they couldn't produce what Kubrick wanted, then just hire actors who could? Kubrick's the first director to make his performers go through method acting.
I also heard that Tippi Hedren was afraid of birds. In the script, it was said that fake birds were going to be used in the attack in the attic. Hitch decided to use real birds to incite terror knowing good and well of Hedren's fear.
Yeah well it didn't work. I love Hitchcock but that is one of the hammiest, most ridiculous scenes ever filmed. It's not terrifying. Scared people don't roll against their wall.
LOL "At the moment, no, but it doesn't look good... " I gotta watch that movie lol
Marcus Chong had a difficult relationship with the Wachowskis on the set of the first Matrix movie.
Wow! David O'Russel sure has mental problems! I won;t be seeing a film of his ever!
Three Kings is an excellent film. Are you never going to go see Hitchcock or Welles or Kubrick as well? Never listen to a Beethoven symphony, or the music of the Rolling Stones? Never consider buying a Tesla? Many creative geniuses are assholes. It's really none of our business how they treat people, unless its actually criminal. Is American Beauty or the first three seasons of House of Cards suddenly bad because Kevin Spacey harassed some people on set? You need to separate aesthetics from ethics, or all you're gonna watch is Disney--and even that stuff has shit swept under the rug.
@@davidc.2878 Three Kings is a piece of shit honestly
@@davidc.2878 See. This is what I'm always talking about. Separate the craft from the actors' personal lives.
So any Actor's relationship with Krubrick
I met Kevin Smith before ! I was on his show once :)
holy moly, the level at which I've been a Bill Murray fan over the years, I can't believe I never knew that he and Harold Ramis had such a falling out that lasted for so long.
They totally left out James Cameron and many of the actors he worked with who said never again- Kate Winslet and Mary Elizabeth Mastrontonio (sp?) as well as Adrian Lyne who reportedly made Jennifer Beals almost give up acting after Flashdance and Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 weeks which they did show a little clip of at the beginning...
claire freeman Don't forget Ed Harris. Harris almost drowned during the shooting of The Abyss by Cameron, and the former responded by punching the latter in the face.
O.R. Studios yes thank you- I'm sure there are many more...
10. In retrospect, that explains how some of this movie goes. But apparently, Gene is honest by nature.
7. Bruce is very cool, but he needs to keep his ego in check...
6. That was sad. At least Bill apologized before Harold passed.
5. What is Dave's problem anyway? It could have possibly ruined movies like this!
3. They're both jerks that need to be punished...
2. Megan calling Bay a Nazi might have been a bit much, but I think she may have a point...
So, Michael Bay is the only person in Hollywood you're not on first name basis with?
I like how some of these actors feuded with directors who helped them earn awards like pta and burt Reynolds or wes Anderson and gene Hackman.
Dear people at watchmojo,
I have a nice request and suggestion for a video.
Please make top ten best songs of Poets of the Fall.
I watched "My best Fiend" or "Mein bester Feind" (Original title). There were several occasions where they nearly assaulted or even killed each other during there multiple projects. And watchmojo puts them at 4 ?!?
Their conflicts were legendary. And they kept working together, what four or five times?
I think even six times but I haven`t seen them all.
Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski...although I could be wrong
VB MUTT Love/Hate relationship.
Red - Manc Fan yes
VB MUTT
VB MUTT Radiohead the best band ever.
William Andrés ikr :)
< : 0 How dare David O. Russell treat Mrs. Frizzle like that!!!
It's amazing that all the bad blood with the directors and actors in these movies resulted in the most amazing movies of our time. Some things were just meant to happen.
Yes...I used the word Amazing twice.
when i saw the tital of the vid, i couldn't stop tbinking about Katherine heigal
Irving Ramirez heigl*
Irving Ramirez Hugh mongous***
kliegl exercises
Yes! She's hate by most actors and directors I have heard. Apparently just an all out bitch.
Hope George Clooney and David O. Russell are on here.
💸💸
i bet Kubrick and Duvall are first tho
+Connor Webb ...he said after having finished the video
This Guy no. He said Clooney and O Russell before the video and said Kubrick and Duvall when Clooney and O Russell finally appeared.
Damn , really love Groundhog Day. It was the first movie my husband and I watched when he spent his first night over at the apt..sad that it was apparently a bad relationship ending movie...grudges with those you care for are the worst..
One more to consider is John Wayne and John Huston who got into a knock down fist fight on the set of The Barbarian and the Geisha with Wayne apparently leaving Huston only semi-conscious. They had previously been friends, but were never able to patch up the relationship after this falling out.
Judd Apatow and Michael Cera should've been on the list.
Wow, that was brutal. I feel bad for Lily Tomlin.
Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski belong on #1 spot. First, because their love-hate relationship spanned over several decades while most other actor/director brake ups occurred during the shooting of one specific movie. Second because of the artistic achievement that resulted from the fights between those two extremely talented film makers. Kinski and Herzog constantly pushed themselves to the limits. Aguirre and Fitzcarraldo would not be half as good without it.
Amen.
These mojo vids just run on and on and on....
lol more like Kubrick vs Every poor actor under his command.
But yes, Shelly probably got the worst of it.
Still, Kubrick is a damn genius!
Make: Top 10 Things to do when running out of ideas for top 10's
This is a fine idea for a top 10. These jokes are worse and less original than their lists. Besides the fact that most of their video ideas come from, and are voted on by, the community. That's us. So WE'RE the ones running out of ideas evidently.
Actually Alfred Hitchcock was downright obsessed with Tippi hedrin whereas she found him traumatic to work with and very inappropriate
Warren Beatty and Robert Altman in McCabe & Mrs. Miller? I hear they would often get physical.
David Prowse and George Lucas?
Jokerboy more like Natalie portman and george lucas since she blame him for almost ruin her carrer
Well Prowse only started hating Lucas after the shoot. (When he realized his voice was taken out!)
Russel Crowe and Ridley Scott - Gladiator?
Am I the only one who doesn’t hate Cop Out?
Apparently.
Yes. Even Kevin Smith hated the film.
I think it's alright
It's not a good movie but I don't hate it.
I fucking love that movie
8:25 also great play in Jack Reacher.
Harrison Ford and Ridley Scott??? I didn't know it
"do another take and get it right 127 times!" - EPR
Fendo5k I just remembered that quote
All because Kubrick wanted to make reality in his films and was pushing too hard.
Director Jon hamberg said that he hated working with Andy Samberg because he can't imrov and "all his scenes suck".
Yeah, I just read that interview where he said that! I'm sure a lot of Directors have to deal with Idiots like him who the braindead general public laughs at but when they show up on set the director struggles to find the tallent. Jon Hamberg isn't one to just bash people.
NoSuchThing99
I was expecting Marlon Brando and Francis Ford Coppola on the set of Apocalypse Now, but Duvall and Kubrick is also pretty damn intense
I forgot that Gene Hackman was alive lmao
